Cannot change boot pattern..? - Xiaomi Redmi 4X Questions & Answers

Hey there, i'm testing the Redmi 4x, i set a boot pattern after encrypting the device as usual, however when i go to security and change that pattern (for another or pin, pass, etc..) i'm still asked for old pattern at boot..! Never seen that on any other devices. How to fix this?

Well i did restore MIUI and still, changing pattern within the stock rom doesn't change boot pattern.. Can't believe it.. Somebody help please!

Install Stock Android Rom on Xiaomi Mi 5X

Hi everybody,
I ordered my Mi 5x that should be here in less than a week. I've seen there is guides to Root it, install TWRP and potentially put custom roms on it (I've seen a few ones around).
But I was wondering if it's possible to install a Stock Android 7.1 rom on the Xiaomi Mi 5x? Could not find any article or post talking about that (sorry if I missed it).
If not is there a list of custom roms for the Mi 5x somewhere?
Thanks and have fun with your day!
/////////////////////// 10/26/2017 UPDATE (for those who just got there from google searchs) ///////////////////////
It happened thanks to heli0us from en.miui.com and @[B]Aex12[/B] who ported Mi A1 Android One Rom to Mi 5x. Works like a charm.
Last version [7.10.14] can be downloaded and flashed from here ⇩

BUT you'll need to unlock your bootloader and flash TWRP for Tiffany first though.

Probably the ROM from the Mi A1 will work in the Mi 5X. It's the same phone.

Yeah just saw the release of that one. That would be really awesome. Like having a Nexus for 200€ (with 64gb of memory, 4gb of RAM and a Snapdragon 625).
For sure. There are some buzzing that the Nexus is back. [emoji23][emoji41]

I hear you dude, I ordered the Mi 5x basically 4 days before the announcement of Mi A1 release.
bootloader cant be unlocked at the moment
...And now they are stopping people from unlocking the bootloader.
You can find a sticky post about it on the english miui forum complaints/advice subforum titled "Important Announcement About Unlocking Bootloader For Mi 5X & Redmi Note 5A"
which says:
In order to enhance our mobile security, the unlocking mechanism for the following devices is being updated currently. The affected devices are Mi 5X and Redmi Note 5A/Prime. During this period, Mi 5X and Redmi Note 5A/Prime owners won't be able to unlock the device. Scheduled maintenance is currently in progress. Sorry for any inconvenience caused and we'll update you guys soon.
That was posted 16th Sept and was the last that was heard about it.

Mi 5x and android A1 is same hardware phone but different by internal memory partition and a few things. Bu we can use A1 modified but pure none touched system resource ROM in our Mi 5x. Already relesed.
With the impossibility of unlocking the bootloader there's no option of flashing the Mi A1 ROM. We need to wait.

Try now, unlocking process will be success now. My friend did yesterday.
Yeah. Well I guess that would be true if I could unlock my stupid bootloader... I feel like mi 5x users are not receiving much love from Xiaomi...
EDIT : oh wait apparently it reopened for some Russians users! Gonna try it!

[SOLVED] Google Maps is not compatible with Mi Mix 2

I can't update Google Maps no more. Google Play says that Maps it's not compatible with Mi Mix 2 anymore.
Perhaps the beta version is no longer compatible. I have maps on my mi mix 2 working without a problem.
Same here but able to upgrade it by dowbloading the apk from apkmirror. Used the universal one otherwise stays in english.

I got this issue too. I solved it with Pixel 2 fingerprints and simulating that device, with MagiskHide Props Config module. You should use the ARMv8-A version.

Hi, have you tried this using latest MIUI Beta version? Which ROM do you use?
In my case, with latest Beta, System UI error and cannot boot.

I'm on the last Pixel Experience, but it happened even with the earlier version. Now it's ok. I reverted the device simulation and I don't see that message.
Well, MIUI Roms doesn't accept Google fingerprints... so SystemUI doesn't work with that change.
After recovering my phone (manually unnistalling Magisk module) I've retried with Xiaomi Mi 6 Fingerprint... and I've correctly updated Google Maps Beta.
Best regards.

Dirty flash the rom, if this will not fix the problem than format data.

I flashed the xiaomi.eu rom....and all is fine . So i think it's related to the officiel MIUI update...
Hello. I now have this version of the V11.0.4.0.PFGEUXM system and it is stable and fast and the battery holds very well. I have root and upload it via software. Is it so good on the latest? I mean batteries especially. Possibly if I can downgrade to this version what I have now? Is there already root on android 10? Because I see that magisk 20.4 does not support android 10.
No freeze, no lag for me. Everything is fine.

Changed display, fingerprint crash [MIUI Global 12.0.2]

A few weeks ago I broke the screen of my MI9T pro, today I received the phone fixed and noticed this bug: every time I tried to register my fingerprint the whole systemUI crashed.
Initially I thought that it was related to the custom ROM, so I flashed another, same bug.
Tried a format data and flashed stock firmware ROM, nothing.
After some researches on the web I figured out that this issue is common and it's due to the update at MIUI 12 so I decided to ask here your experiences, if you came in to that too.
Thanks to all

Currently, only solution is to switch to miui11. You can also reportedly flash to miui11 vendor then flash 12 while editing install script to not update vendor.
