Can this be disabled? I can't find a setting for it. I keep activating it by mistake
It's funny how people are different. That's exactly the reason I don't want to use NOVA launcher because it doesn't have the same feature. (or at least I'm not aware of it).
Anyway, hope you resolve this!
Try swiping down on the right or left of centre, seems to work for me. Either side of the cut out. Agree, it's pretty much useless.

Nova with Sesame Shortcut app can enable this
Just adb remove it:
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.huawei.search

Unfortunately that package does not exist on my P20 Pro 8.1. I would love to know what package name it is to be able tp remove it - tried guessing a couple of times - without success.

you just need to configure pull down gesture. or simply use the top drawer search function.
as for other who want to disable.it. just use other launcher. stock launcher suck anyway, LoL

name of the app itself is HiSearch
and the package name is indeed com.huawei.search even on PIE it still the same
you probably misstype it, or you are not "user 0", try user 1 as well
else, just try to use Packages Name Viever app to check it yourself.
or, if i were you, i would just root the phone and disable those app uaing any capable tools. (am using titanium backup)

Hello,
I am having an issue where when I try to install the Xposed installer I am not able to press the Install button. I am running a GS4 with Task650 Rom from 6/17/14. I am properly rooted and root check says I have root access. Whenever I try to install the app I am not able to press the Install button. I am not running any filters and this is a clean install. I cleared the Devlik and cache but i still have the same issue. I have tried v29, v31 and v32 and all have the same issue. Please help this is really frustrating.
Check again and make sure you're not running any screen filters or anything that draws on top of other screens.
I'm having a nearly identical issue but instead I already have xposed installer installed and I am trying to update it and also install more modules. I get to the install screen and cannot click the install button.

I'm sorry, i assumed that was implied. I have no screen filters that i am aware of nor do i have anything active that draws on top of other screens. I am having the issue on my Galaxy note 3 running Hyperdrive RLS8 if that helps any. I am experienced but far from an expert in these matters, please tell me what you need in order to help me help myself .
That did it I went through all my apps settings and disabled draw on top for everyone.Its wierd because I have no filters installed maybe FB messanger caused that. Thank you very much for the help

You can try killing all running apps, that'll probably allow you to install the APK. (Again, I'd like to point out that this is not an issue with Xposed. It would also happen with any other APK.)

Thank you for taking the time to address my concerns. The first thing i tried was to clear all apps, and even clear the phones ram in order to make sure no other apps were bothering it. The problem seems to be related to the package installer app. Clearing active apps and ram has not helped my issue.

Problem solved, your information made me think enough to research elsewhere and find the problem. Turns out it was Echo Lockscreen app causing the problem.

To disable the draw ontop feature i used the "app opps" menu of my rom, Im using task650's rom, that allows you to disable parts of certain apps. in cm I believe its under the privacy section in settings.

To tell you the truth Xposed was the only installer I had issues with, I was able to install other apk's with out any issues.
Hello everyone,
I am torally used to AOSP keyboard since GingerBread and can't live without it.
Therefore, I grabbed the LatinIME.apk app from LineaogeOS 15 (Oreo) for another device and installed it on my XZ1 Compact.
I can set it up in the settings, but whenever the keyboard should popup, I got a force close.
I used this method to use AOSP keyboard on my previous phones without any issue.
Any idea ?

Can anyone make a magisk module to mount system as r/w? I'm trying to set my OnePlus 8 Pro system as r/w but it's just impossible , the reason is that you can't modify any system files manually , only magisk can do that (android 10 btw)

Have you tried the road to vendor apps module, otherwise this would require samsung framwork

The developers told me this (see screenshot attached)

I am highly against package disabler for samsung phones from nougat up. It don't really bring any benefits, only problems and battery drains. samsung nougat update is really great to put to "deep sleep" unused services/apps. Oreo is better, Pie even better... so no real gains. Contrary, when some service needs another one, it will drain constantly the battery.

Either, but Package is very handy for using themes not available on the store theme
I wouldn't use a package disabler but... Bixby though. Mispress the button is always happening plus it always shows those Spotify recommendation banner that's impossible to get rid of so I decided to ditch all of it though disabling.

I just re-enabled Bixby to try the built in remapping and of course too many hoops to get it to map to Google Assistant so I just disabled all the Bixby packages again .. using Package Disabler Pro. It works fine on mine. I would not see any reason for it not to work on someone else's phone. Mine is a 960U Note 9 running One UI.
Also, @high_voltage Package Disabler Pro isn't like Greenify. It doesn't just put apps to sleep when they autostart it is just a UI to the default ability to disable unused packages so yes, it's useful. I don't want to just sleep apps ... I want them unavailable to the system and to not even start.

You can disable apps though ADB (or even uninstall them if you're sure that you don't want them).

I got a 404 error with the browser, while it's just not showing in the app.
I have found the good command for adb.

Perform a Google search. There's sites with instructions and download links. There's also a thread in the Note 9 forums with AdHell in the title. Should be easy to find.
If you "su" with ADB you should be able to disable it globally like AdHell, but since it is for giving you root access I wonder if:
1. It is working?
2. Does it trip Knox and everything else?

In bixby settings you can change the button from a single press to double press to activate, that way it will not trigger on it's own again.

i just see that apkmirror has a signature (SHA1...) verification system so apkmirror is pretty safe BUT samsung crypto wallet has not been officially released (maybe im wrong) so until the official release i think its not safe to use these apk...
if the apk is legit you can try but if its not your private keys are exposed

For this kind of sensitive app, one should never download from 3rd party apk. Download from App Store directly: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.samsung.android.coldwalletservice

Once again... WRONG--- APKmirror (which is where it was found) is one of the most reliable APK sites (probably better than the Play Store itself).

I don't think so
To answer your question, at this point I dont think anyone knows how it works. The blockchain keystore app was recently updated and i was able to setup my private key, however that's all I can do for now. You can also manage your current wallet if you already have by entering the key.
Not sure why the few people keep saying it's not safe to use the apk when OP is simply asking how it works :silly:.
