(English is not my native language so if anything there is unclear, please excuse me and don't hesitate to ask me to clarify, thank you)
Hi,
I recently bought a second hand Galaxy Note 5 (920T). I had troublewith some apps, and discovered that it was rooted (I'm a total noob on this subject) with the Phone Info App. While checking my device with it it stated that the phone was a copy because its serial number does not match its manufacture date. Yet it doesn't seem to be a fake one, like those on youtube: The rear camera is genuine, the S pen and its options are the exact same. The only discrepancies I can see are that the software IMEI/ the IMEI on the back are not the same but both are valid. It is also a Brazilian phone (ZTO) yet it seems to be from T-Mobile so firmwares are for the U.S region. (I don't know if T-Mobile is on the Brazilian market since I live in France and it's an export)
Could someone help me ?
Thank you for reading.
SOLVED: I switched the app language from french to english. It turned out to be a translation error: Refurbished is translated as "une copie" which means a replica, a fake product.

Hope you good here's one secret code for samsung to check if its orignal type *#0*# in dial pad you will see many options to check your device if that code works your phone is ok if it doesn't then it could be a fake one and to exit the menu simply tap back key twice....

if IMEI is not same in software and hardware that means motherboard was changed .

Dear all,
Today I received my first Android 'phone, but sadly I suspect that I have been ripped off. I know that this is not a Android development related question, but I cannot think of anywhere else to ask, and searching the web yielded no results.
The company sold me one that has the language in Portuguese, which is a sham because I am the Netherlands. The company is in the Netherlands as well. ( studentenmobile.nl).
Is it possible to change the language, at least into English?
I cannot work the 'phone at present because I don't understand what is written, at all Nor do I know where to go. I think that English might be available on it because there were two instruction booklets: One in English and one in Portuguese, but this does not mean that any language other than Portuguese is available.
I would be grateful for any help.
PS. No, the company won't take it back, because I they did not state that the 'phone language was not in Dutch, nor that it was in Dutch. The same for English. Stupid of me not to ask.
On my phone change the language here:
On the main screen, press the menu button.
Press the 'gear' - this is settings in english.
Then you are in the settings list. The 10th line on my phone has a white square with a black A in it. It is called 'Locate and text'.
Tap that, and the topmost option is 'Select locale'. Tap that.
Now a list pof countries appears. It should have 'Nederlands' written there.
BUT I think the phone would have done that the moment it noticed a Dutch SIM card. Perhaps it doesn't with some pre paid cards.
If the phone does not offer 'Nederlands' you have indeed been cheated, and the company should arrange for an exchange or return of money.
Do not fall for the normal right of return, as they can hold on your money for 30 days, but insist on a quicker solution as this product is broken, as it does not conform to what a Dutch buyer expects.
A steady wave of relief has just passed through my head (although perceived as being centred in the chest).
I have changed the language. There is a pretty long list of languages there. Although I read Nederlands (NL) and Nederlands (Belgie), yet there was only French (FR) and French (CH), which is strange. I expected it to also have French (BE).
Anyway, thanks a million.
I did not have a SIM card in it, which is why it did not take the language settings from it.
Am I the only one that's annoyed by the issue that the 2x does not want to save the language settings you have chosen for it?.
When I first got it I selected English(UK) as the language. But everytime I put in a DK sim it automatically defaults to danish language. And I find that rather annoying, because if I wanted danish I would have selected Danish from the start.
But is there a way to basically tell the phone to STAY English and only switch language if I tell it to, or does a hard reset?. I could on my HTC and it didn't change even if i changed SIM.
Please tell me that LG hasn't been so damn daft as to not make it able to its users to "lock" the language.

If you install the attached does it make you selection stick?
I'm not sure it will survive a sim change though...
Well what I need is for the phone to actually keep its language setting regardless of what kind of SIM i insert in it. Ie I have selected English UK, then I want the phone to use that language, and not just automatically switch to danish when I insert another danish sim.

I haven't had to chance to test it yet. But the problem is not that it changes language on reboot.
Its when I am changing SIM's I am hving the issue, and you said yourself that it might not work when changing SIM's.
But I will give it a test in a short bit.
If you change your sim, don't you have to set up all your accounts again anyway?
I don't. I have changed SIM's 3-4 times in my HTC Desire when I still had it and it retained all the information. Even the language setting was retained when I moved the SIM.
Only the LG won't do that, but hopefully the App you linked might fix that.
Hi all!
Long time reader, first time poster.
I live in Denmark, and yesterday I got a new Sony z1!
the phone is awesome btw!
Through the xperia privilege app, i got 60 days music unlimited for free.
I went through the process and got it attached to my playstation account, but when i go on the phone and it tries to log in, it gives me the following apparently japanese error message: see attached
The language on my device is set to Danish, I do not speak a word japanese, and the language on my account is set to english.
Can anyone help me get this working?
Thanks in advance,
Mortne Bonderup

Because it's an error message, it does not allow me to hear any music..
Making the phone not show the box does not make the problem go away.
the error message is saying that you are in a different region than your account region. Go create a new region with new account. YOu should tell us your whole situation next time if expecting helps from community. You are not in Danmerk right now.

Dont hate me for this.
My first post here and it's for the reson that i need help with my Ativ s neo i think it's called.
I have a prototype or a non production modell that seems to be unlocked and has diagnosis app on it.
Is there a way to flash this one to basic wp8?
You might wonder why? because i cant change the language on it to Swedish, it's with English (United States) and there is no way to change it,
very hard to write sms in Swedish without Ö, Ä, Å on the phone.
I have tried to put the prewiew for developers app on it but with no success uppdating it to wp8,1.
If i restart the phone the volume goes to 30.
When i start the phone it says factory mode.
Sorry for my English but i'm a Swede, at least i'm trying.
First of all, how'd you even get a not-for-sale device?
Second, don't waste its potential by flashing a stock ROM; those things are very handy to use hacker-types!
OK, with that said: you can get accents and diacritics (including all three of the ones you listed, plus many more) by tapping-and-holding on a given letter. There are seven options each just for A and O, which should cover everything you need.
Thank's for the info GoodDayToDie.
I got it as a gift from a friend.
Is there any possibility that-WOLF-'s fake rom with CSC would work on my device?
Reason!
I cant uppdate to wp8,1 so i'm stuck on wp8.
APN settings is no go either with my device.
like the phone and i want to use it.
Just bought this watch a couple weeks ago on ebay. Went to try to update today and got the error "Your current software version isn't supported. Visit a service center." Anyone seen this before on a GW5, and/or know what to do to be able to update the software on it? I've reached out to the eBay seller and haven't gotten a reply back yet.
Can you give more infos?

Ok I did the *#1234# and this is what I got
AP: R915USQU1AVK6
CP: R915USQU0AVD5
CSC: R915UOYM1AVK6
I do have developer mode enabled. Is this the active CSC you need?
Pic to verify I'm in the correct place
As example how FOTA aka over the air "work"...
It is simple database request by CORRECT text strings...
http://fota-cloud-dn.ospserver.net/firmware/XAA/SM-R915U/version.xml
As example XAA as (active) CSC...
CP: R915USQU0AVD5
If really D instead K... then your modem.bin is not correct... older as the othe Firmware Files.
At this point I can NOT help you... I have no Firmware for this Model... to flash with netOdin.
IMHO cheapest way... go to any Samsung Service... or ask Samsung.
It is not the fastest way... but...
Best Regards

Here's a pic of my back cover. The green area is where the metal contacts are at. I put a wax plug into the hole so no water could get into there. As you can see though, there are no markings at all in the back

Yeah Samsung told me to take a hike basically. They won't do anything for my issue since the watch is second hand even though they can't prove it.
Not sure if these would be of any help?
Samsung SM-R915F Combination File ROM (Flash File)
Download Samsung SM-R915F Combination File (original flash file, rom) without any password for Free. We also provide the combination file for all Samsung devices.
samsungcombinationfile.com
I've never flashed a Galaxy watch before but done it a lot with various phones, so am just starting to look into this.
I also have an SM-R915U XAA and would ideally like to change the CSC to BTU for the UK or even flash it to 915F BTU if that were possible.
