Hi. I couldn't find anywhere for this model.
So if somebody knows?
And another question - which custom ROM can I flash for this phone?
Thanks!

Hi
Will my phone update from. 569 to 10.4.1.B.0.101 MTN South Africa with the boot loader unlocked? I don't want to waste 800 megs of data if it won't work.
TIA.

No, you should download the ftf file and flash it via flashtool

You're welcome. You can use any ftf file as long as it is for your phone (eg. C6603)
And what about custimisation numbers?

Right, I forgot that, he has to exclude it when he flashes the rom

What about it? Flashing a different rom will change the customisation number. What's your point?

Exclude the customisation number? What?
Do you guys know what you're talking about?

Hi again,
Does the flashtool give me an option to leave the customisation number out or how do I do this?
TIA

Don't worry about it. If you flash a different regions rom, your customisation number will change.
That has no functional effect on your phone whatsoever and it's not something that can be excluded from the flash as it's just a value in build.prop.

OK cool thanks Guv.

Don't be. The customisation number is part of the rom. Just don't concern yourself with it. As long as you flash a FTF for your specific model, then you'll be fine.

Thanks kingvortex,
I thought that the custimisation number was region specefict and thought that the netherlands had a different setting or something then the brasilian one for example

It is, but it doesn't matter. When you flash a different rom, the customisation number will change.
It's mainly used when checking for updates via the PCC or OTA, so you will receive updates for the current customisation version of your phone. As the OP has unlocked their bootloader, they cannot receive updates via those methods anyway.

The z5 forum would have more on it. You need a international ftf finger print files and customize the US one by adding those files than flashing it to your device

It can be done. You can do it yourself follow how they did it in the z5 forums or just flash the international ftf on your phone

Where do I get the FTFs? At this point, what is the disadvantage of getting the International one?
None really that I can think of. The US one might have better radios maybe for signal

So how long before someone figures out flashing the FTFs on the X or X Performance?

Well you can ask someone for the ftfs and then use flash tool. Ask the user who made a kernel for the xp if he has the international ftf

Hmm... So lets say I go with the X (not P), looking here: https://xpericheck.com/device/F5122 will these work on the F5121? Also, which country is the most similar to US but gets fingerprint? Is there really any difference aside from language? If I go this path, how do I get the OTAs?

Probably the UK one.. Maybe br stands for Britain? You can try any of them if they aren't good to back to us one. I'm curious what customized us one is. If it's been customized for finger print enable. But these are all released a month ago? Before the device was out?

This is exactly why I'm asking.... i'm confused. and then how do updates work?
Regional firmwares are available prior to release. Can't use a device without software. If you flash a firmware from another region, you will receive updates that align with that region. Sometimes they are OTA and sometimes they require either PC Companion or Xperia Companion. UK is the abbreviation for Great Britain for firmware region. The customized US firmware will not support fingerprint sensor.

Thats because the 920C isn't a USA branded device. International only.. Works great with US carriers...
So what firmware can I use to keep from bricking it?

I wanna root and check out the s8+ rom if there is one. I like to tinker and see which roms I like the best.
Sent from my SM-N920C using Tapatalk
You have plenty of choices there. I run a S8 port on my 920c they all run great when you look at the roms the dev will mention different models his rom will work on if you see 920c your good to go. You just need to be on a Marshmellow base to run the nougat s8 ports..
