I own a Huawei P8 Lite 2017 and it is currently running EMUI 5.0.1. I really don`t like the appearance. I use Nova launcher but still the lockscreen and other things remain as EMUI. I wanted to know if there is a way that it could look like a Stock Android ( like the Pixel ).

if They are EMUI 3.0 Based Then Sure Why Not .... EMUI 2.3 Based Themes Wont Work
Emui 3.0 themes work on 3.1
Anyone knows releases emui 4.1 for p8 lite
I would hope for emui 5 with android 7 nougat,I dont feel like emui 4.1 will make such a difference.
Sources say that this will be released in Q1 or Q2 2017 but we dont know whether it is emui 4.1 or 5.

It had some new cool features, now im on sakoban's rom because i bricked my phone while i was on 4.1, i had only old backup of sokoban's

Hi guys! My P8 Lite 2017 came with EMUI 5.0 and Android 7.0 (as with all variants, I believe?) and I seem to be stumped with the theming options.
I've tried a few Themes for EMUI 5.0, and I'm mainly interested with those that change the Status Bar colors / icons, NavBar Icons, System UI Accents (phone, sms, Quick Settings tile colors) but none of theme seem to work.
This is my first Huawei device and EMUI ROM, so I don't have experience with this.
How does the EMUI 5.0 themes work on yours?

Since it's a "lite" device, you must root it in order to get themes fully working. See this threath of Honor 6X.

I did try this out as I'm rooted, but it still doesn't work.
Up to what extent does the themes on your P8 Lite 2017 change on your UI?

It's not only custom roms but custom kernels. You can't compile kernel for emui 4.1 and flash it for emui 4.0

Huawei released kernel source for roms which will not get further updates...so,we have 2 ideeas: rip vodafone roms, or 2: we will receive emui 4.1 (and i hope... This phone can run it, Huawei sair long time ago that p8 lite will get a little Emui 5 brother... Was that the emui 4.0.3? With sh#t email addition?

I asked greek Huawei page on Facebook and they don't know anything in particular about EMUI 4.1 on P8 Lite... We can flash CAM ROMs in TWRP but some stuff didn't work... I'll try again. Like NFC not working makes sense, but the theme engine doesn't work at all ?

I am not a big fan of emui nor harmony OS. And I would be very pleased to use a stock android or a light custom rom.

Definitely not, that requires a rooted fone first and foremost. If you're not a big fan of emui or harmony why get a Huawei device?

Because there is no competition for this phone (hardware wise) today. It seems to me to be the best phone to date.....and i could live with some software limitations. But I was hoping for an alternative rom :/
