Hi.
I have a problem with the signal of my S3 Mini, actually only in my house I think, I mean only in a same place all time. The signal icon show 3 o 4 lines of signal but if I try to call or send a message, didn't work. Just don't call and dont send message. I try to change the firmware with another modem, flash the latest modem, but the problem don't solve. I've got the i8190L with a unbranded firmware, no custom rom.
Anyone know how can I fix this problem? Thank and sorry for my inglish.

Well, thanks you for your reply but befor an exahustive research I find the solution, or apparently solution. Just change the Auto GSM/WCDMA to Only WCDMA and the signal comes to my phone and now I can call and send messages.

Yes, This have nothing to do with rom or modem. It's an issue about the signal strenght. Concrete walls?

Are you on stable rom or dev rom? What is your rom version?
May be you can try with another sim card of another telco to see if it's the phone problem or the sim card problem.

Hello. We're you able to resolve the issue?
hi, i wanna to ask, is there any way to set on this phone MINIMUM desired connection type? (RM-944)
My problem is simple, Vodafone in my locstion (Prague - czech republic) has VERY POOR LTE signal, and my phone STILL switching between E/H-H+ and L network type, it cause interruptions of internet connections and offcourse drain battery life..
Is there any way to "lock" phone to use ONLY LTE or at last ONLY 3G (H+)? Because i am really desprite from that :/
Windows phone 8.1 - latest oficial version
Thank you for any suggestions...
Hello,
I have been researching and so far the only way I know is located in the settings.
Go to settings -> Network * and select 3G.
Hope this helps.
Regards.

So i bought the N950N version from SK (kt branded) is there any way to change the csc to multi? I live in italy so i need the ITV one. Im asking this becuase the mobile data icon stays on 3G while on my S6E+ chamges to H+ (don't have 4G acrivated because of reasons). The speedtest also shows a big differnce in DL from the 2 phones.
Thanks in advance

I don't think the CSC change would help you as your issue is with the radio which is in CP file. It is not an icon or preinstalled apps as you have described. There was a speed difference so it is most likely a 3G band compatibility issue.

Thanks for the reply kalm.
The bands are the following, may not be exhaustive though.
2G/3G 900/2100 MHz UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA, HSPA+, DC-HSPA+
4G 1800/2600 MHz LTE
The rom i was talking about it's the original firmware that can be find on sammobile; can i flash it? Dovi need root permissions in order to flash it?

You won't be able to flash a 950F firmware with Odin, but you can install TWRP and flash a ROM in a zip file that way. Root has nothing to do with this method because the entire system is replaced.

Yes you can do that. I was running one for a few days, but now I am trying to figure out how to patch the 950N firmware to enable my provider's wifi calling feature.

Sorry to bother ypu again, went on device information, under sim status and noticed that it is actually HSPA+. Could this mean that is just the data icon not changing but it actually connects to H+ network?

yes, the icon displayed is based on which CSC is loaded. HSPA is technically a 3G technology, so some companies display it this way. Some companies call HSPA+ 4G, and some call LTE 4G.
Can you download the app LTE Discovery and see which type of network you are connecting to?

Hi, I am new on this forum and I reached here searching for the same issue.
I bought a galaxy note 8 SM-N950N, single sim, 64 Gb it’s the korean model.
Since I am italian and soon will go back to Italy, I’d like to know if is it possible to flash a stock italian or at least european rom.
And if you have any suggestion about which one should I use, for the moment I understood that I should flash the twrp and then put a zip file with the rom.
Is it possible to do it also without triggering the knox?
Thanks in advance.

I have a N950N here in the UK and it works no problem. At first my phone wasn't on LTE but I went to general management, and reset my network connections and it picks up LTE fine. Have you managed to figure it out already?

Go to settings, general management, reset, then reset network settings. You will have to re-enter WiFi passwords though, but hopefully that will fix it for you

That's strange, I don't have a problem and I didn't change the CSC for it. I think there are some threads here on how to change the CSC from a 950N, but you would have to root the phone. I haven't done that so I won't be a help in that. Good luck, and let us know if you get it sorted.
Hi,
I'm new in MI8 community ? (just living leeco lepro3 ). I've strange switchs between 4G to H+.
I explain ?. Previously, at home, I was all the time in 4G with my PRO3. But now, my MI8 switchs time to time and during the switch I loss the connection. Nevertheless, my device receives full signal in 4G and it stays connected on the same BTS.
If I set it in plane mode ON and after OFF...back to 4G for a short time...
I'm on miui10 and on Sosh (orange) french network.
Tks for your help
Hey !
I'm also french and i'm experiencing that kind of H+ switches, as you I had 4g in these areas before with my oneplus 3 with Bouygues Telecom ISP and now i can't even connect to the internet, must be the antennas...
I can connect to 4G but something doesn't work fine...I can't stay connected. The level of the signal increase and dicrease strangly.
I'm a little bit disapointed :crying:
Because each phone have different bands and if your phone doesn't have the right band for your area cell tower then it'll keep changing back to the most stable connection it can do.
Sure, I know that. But I leave in campaigne with only one BTS. So I'm always connected to the same antenna.
And if it was an issue with the frequency band (lepro3 has the same), switching OFF/ON, airplane mode should not fix my issue.
I've tested with Mate 20, and i'm always 4G in full power received !
Nobody else has the same issue ??
I have the same issue, 4g and H+ are switching all the time. Sometimes it keeps switching several times in a minute on a fixed location.
I am in Croatia, operator is A1, Mi8 Global model.
very well it seems like it's not an isolated bug. can we trace this kind of problem to xiaomi and if so by which channel?
Hi, i'm still facing time to time the issue. No fix planned? I'm not alone.
Zero promises here but you can try forcing the network mode to LTE/UMTS auto (PRL) and check if it makes a difference.
To Change 2G to 3G 4G LTE only network mode in Android Phone via USSD code, take the following steps:
Dial *#*#4636#*#* OR ##626* OR ##786# in your phone
Select Phone Information
If you have Dual SIM Select the Slot (SIM) you want change settings for
Scroll Down and select the Option Under “Set preferred network type”
Click to collapse
Also works by pressing 5 x times on settings \ my device \ total storage
Thks but It's not a good solution. I won't force network type choice.

If you flash 9.1.17 Xiaomi.EU they have updated Network Switching handover to European UMTS, instead of default chinese TD-CMDA to WCDMA as Stoffl_ says.
I had the same problem as you say of switching from LTE to H+ because of this. Either change it manually after boot or unlock the bootloader and flash another rom. Until they fix it in global, if they do.

Today, I'm in the lastest Miui 10.3.3.0 stable and the issue still
