I just want to confirm i have the latest building number. I have a European model using it in Canada so maybe the updates arent pushing to the phone? Im currently on VTR-L29C636B120
Last for your model and market version is 162
http://hwmt.ru/hwmtsite/firmware-database/?firmware_model=vtr-L29C636&firmware_page=0
I have stock VTR-L29 model, BL locked and b151 is the latest for me.
It lools like we need to wait for some time until new update is available through OTA
For anyone looking to update to L09C432B162 the latest on Firmware Finder, I can confirm I just did it and updated with no problems via proxy. I choose the FullOTA-MF version.
The responsiveness and transition between screens is so much faster than my previous version (B113) that I would recommend everyone to make the jump if you can.

No, if you use Firmware Finder app (download from Google Play store), you can use the official update functionality in your phone settings to get the update.
It tricks Huawei servers that your phone is ready for upgrade to this firmware version. So you are downloading the official firmware file from Huawei, and it should install like a normal OTA update. No data loss, no settings loss.

Sent from my VTR-L09 using XDA Free mobile app
Question: Is there a way to downgrade from latest update to the previous one without root? I'm on a mobile data plan with my network and rooting the phone will compromise my warranty if in case anything goes wrong.
I recently saw a vtr-l29c432b171 OTA update but couldn't find it anymore or any link online.

sorry my fault..i updated to 164 with the full firmware package from the site i mentioned, andf then after first boot i got OTA to 171.
When updating using Firmware Finder FullOTA (in-app proxy), do you need to be fully unrooted (stock kernel and recovery) for this to work?
Asking, because I plan to try this update method from B165 to B172 on my VTR-L29C185 and wondering if this process keeps the user data intact or it means a full reset later regardless ... can anyone confirm user data can be preserved with in-app proxy method? Does the BootLoader stay unlocked too?
EDIT:
all went well as per update itself via in-app proxy detection method ... however had to use FullOTA package to successfully install it and that I think re-locked the bootloader, oh well, at least it worked fine

I also found this firmware collection. Not sure how accurate is though...

for L09C432 is the latest B201, for L29C432171 according this site pro-teammt.ru.
But hte update is rolled out on very strange key...some countries have it, some operators don´t .... don´t know. So i always download the latest for my phone L29C432 and flash it trough HWOTA.

Just got a notification for update 6 on my VZW Note 9. This should be build 1CSC1 with the March security patch included. I haven't had a chance to update my phone yet.
Also, I sideloaded builds CSAA and the current CSB3 that I'm on now, via stock recovery and SD card and I'm receiving official OTA's from my carrier. I know some were worried they may not receive official OTA's if they sideloaded those builds. I'm just re-confirming what others such as Mr. Orange have said that you will be back on the official OTA train being on the sideloaded CSB3.
Thank you. I am waiting for an update since I sideloaded Pie last month.

Yeah, no problem. Just wanted to get it up asap to let those who still worried about not getting official OTA's anymore because of sideloading, that they will still get official OTA's as long as they're on CSB3. Here's a screenshot of the about screen with the new build running, I didn't update till recently.

Please help if anyone knows an answer to my issue. I have a Verizon note9 I updated from oreo to pie manually through recovery now I am no longer getting ota updates, even if I search for them. I was told that side loading pie would not effect later OTA's . Is there a way to fix it or I somewhere I can download the updates and install through recovery would be ok too. But can't find them anywhere.

Which version of pie are you still on? CSAA? If still on CSAA, you'll have to install the CSB3 pie build. The CSAA to CSB3 zip to put on your SD card and flashed through stock recovery can be found here within the Note 9 threads. Once you're on CSB3, you'll get OTA update notifications for the next couple OTA updates.

I do not have Odin setup and have never used it . Plus do not have access to a computer at this time. Also would just like to flash it off sd card and start getting my ota updates again. I have the file but it keeps aborting not sure what the issue is .my sd card is encrypted do I have to decrypt it before flashing the update?
Alright got the file (cbs3) and flashed from recovery, and then my ota updates started coming in so I am all updated and life is good. Now I'd I could just figure out why a week ago I stop being able to download apps or update installed apps from xda (from here) not sure what happen or why but when I try it starts to go through the motions ana them I get download failed. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. I have tired all the usual fixes, clear cache and data uninstall and reinstall xda app,no help...
I have a Galaxy note 9 running 8.1 and would like to stay there. My phone is the T-Mobile branded one. Unfortunately it seems that my phone has downloaded the OTA update to pie and is asking me to install it. I clicked "Later" but I'm afraid that won't last forever. How can I delete the downloaded data and also disable the update from happening in the future?
I am a complete novice when it comes to software stuff so things like "flashing" memory etc may be beyond my scope unless it's very simple. I do follow instruction well though
I understand that I am forgoing security updates and I'm ok with that. After finishing up with a Galaxy S7 that was painfully slow on its last update and having it eat battery, I'd like to stick with the original software. There are other things like the camera app, layout, etc. that I'd just rather stick to.
Aside from rooting the phone, is there any way to just kill the update program? How can I delete the downloaded update to free up memory? I read someplace that rebooting the phone would install the update - so do I need to factory data reset and start over? (I just got the phone so I'm ok doing that)

you may have a couple of options.
I have heard that if you reboot in to the bootloader mode and clear cache then it will get rid of the downloaded firmware update.
I'm not sure.
you can download package disabler pro and disable the update services. I went back to oreo after pie update was horrible.
in package disabler pro follow the directions to enable it
search in the app for "update"
I disabled
"Software update" (com.sec.android.soagent)
"Software update" (com.wssyncmldm)
"System updates" (com.samsung.sdm)
No more updates or notifications
Good luck

You can flash the unlocked 8.1 oreo ROM and it will remove the ability to receive updates all together. it will also remove all the bloatware from tmobile. You will have to flash this with odin. After downloading the .zip ROM, Unzip it and flash all 4 files.
You want the XAA download.

You still need package disabler pro or some kind if service blocker.
I down graded to Oreo on two devices using XAA and I still got firmware update messages for pie. Once I set up the phone.
Blocking the services keeps the phone from checking and downloading the update.

Easiest thing to do is to flash a different version modem for your device. Just flash the previous version modem file with Odin and you'll be set. If you want ota again, just flash the modem for your device matching the software update your device has installed.
I was on Oreo running the Pie modem and never got the Pie ota alert.

My phone has already downloaded the update and is prompting me to install it. If I flash or run a package disabler at this point will it be effective? How can I erase the update data so it isnt eating space? Do I need to factory reset the phone first to wipe all that out before I flash or run disabler?

You could try clearing cache like an earlier poster suggested.
Here's the problem. I rooted my Note 9 a while back. I wanted to try ASOP roms, while I like the experience in general, there was just a lot I was giving up such as camera performance and samsung features. I decided to go back to stock firmware. I precisely remember I was on the august security patch before I rooted. So, I flash the stock firmware, Australian version, through odin and I checked I was on the July security patch. Now, I realized that September patch is also rolling out yet I am still stuck on July patch. There is just no update showing. It says its already update. I have already certified my device by play protect again, if some of you think that may be the problem. So, now what do I do?

Yes. You can download any firmware. As long as it is the same as your device. Oh, and if you went back to an old version and it is rooted, it will not appear any updates.

i think about rooting my S21 Ultra. So my question is, when an update gets released and i patch the new Firmware via Magisk and update it with odin,
does my data gets wiped again? If yes, is there a way to update the Firmware without wiping my Data?
