Hi I'm wondering if anybody is able to help.
I have a Note 8 and would like to connect it to my 2017 iMac running High Sierra. When I plug my Note 8 in it automatically launches Android file transfer and file transfer usb mode on the phone but I get "Could not connect to device, Try reconnecting or restarting your device". The phone is in the correct mode and knows it's connected to a Mac as it advises I download AFT or Samsung Switch.
The Note connects to a older 2009 MacBook without a glitch and the only difference being I get a Allow prompt every time it connects to the MacBook and not the iMac. (This seems to be the issue not having an allow prompt)
I have reinstalled AFT and are using the supplied USB C cable.
I previously owned a Nexus 6 which connect to the iMac with out issue.
I have just tried a Galaxy Xcover 3 and same issue so it seems to be a Samsung related problem
Many Thanks

I tried searching the forum and found no comments on sidesync so here is my problem:
What I am using:
Sidesync 4.0 installed on a windows 7 x64 PC
Galaxy Note 5 (Verizon) running 5.1.1 (Stock of course :/ )
SideSync 4.0.9.9 App on the phone from samsung store
I was able to successfully connect to my home PC over WiFi network so I know the phone software will do it.
When I try to connect wirelessly at work I can't use WiFi because the desktop PC is wired and the phone is wireless. I understand this and that is not the issue.
I am connected the phone via USB directly to the computers USB port and SideSync is not finding it. I log on to my PC with an unprivileged account so when I launch sidesync it wants admin credentials which I provide. Once launched it will not find the phone.
Anyone have any thoughts?
When I connected mine for the first time this morning it had to install a driver before I plugged in the phone. Did it prompt you to unplug and install the driver? Seems to work great but if I bring up the phone screen on the PC it cuts out my headphone audio that I am listening to through the phone, not sure if it is trying to play through my PC I'll have to play around with it.

I had this issue when I got my S8 so I reinstalled the drivers and it started working again, Yay
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Samsung\SideSync4\USB Driver"
I'm unable to get the MacBook to recognize that the phone is plugged in. The phone prompts whether to charge or MTP/PTP but changing that mode does not get the Mi Mix recognized as being connected. Anyone have any advice? Kind of new to Mac. Never have an issues with my Windows 10 desktop

Android is not natively browsable in MacOS.
Try out this app - it also allows connecting Xiaomi devices (as well as all Android devices) to Mac
Hey guys. I just installed the Android 10 OneUI2 Update today and I tried to connect it to my PC via USB-C to start up Samsung Dex but it won't start. I downloaded the SamsungDex app on my PC, Double checked that the driver is installed and even manually installed it from Samsung Dex folder, made sure my phone is set to transferring files, but the SamsungDex keeps showing the "To start Samsung Dex, connect your phone to your computer using a USB Cable" message no matter how many times I tried reconnecting my phone to various ports.
So yesterday i've got a small update on my Pixel 4 and since than i can't enter the phone folder on my PC. I've tried a lot of cables, tried to change port on my PC, entered "Safe mode" on pixel, changed 1000 drivers and still it doesn't work. The phone basicly doesn't shows up in "My pc" folder unlike my other phones (Huawei p30 and Galaxy Note 10+ still works excellent). But when i tried to connect Pixel to Galaxy Note they've been able to read each others memory. I would have tryed to try connect Pixel to other PC but i don't have one, so the problem stays unsolved. Any thoughts? Maybe someone have the same issue?
Do you have File Transfer enabled as default connection in settings-system-advanced-developer options-Default USB Connection?
