Setting CSC to BTU needed for OTA? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

Hi,
Recently got a Note 8 and found it was the Italian version with the CSC code TIM.
I then used Odin to flash the latest Oreo BTU firmware, and afterwards wiped the cache and reset to factory settings.
However, I'm not sure if this will allow future OTA firmware updates?
My brother also has a Note 8 which was the UK version and upgraded to Oreo via OTA, and using the phone info app, found his firmware versions and CSC codes were identical to mine, so I'm not sure if my phone will receieve OTA updates for BTU or not?
If not, what steps do I need to follow to ensure I do?
Thanks

I flashed my uae import to XEU and then VOD oreo. I am getting OTA updates.

HELP! Not Receiving updates

Hi guys!
I have the exynos variant, SM-N950F, and switched to the France firmware to get the oreo update. I switched back to my home CSC when it prompted me to factory reset when i inserted my sim.
Apparently, i am not getting OTA updates even if its already available in my country (PH).
Need help in what i need to do to get OTAs again.
Thanks!

I would flash the latest firmware for your home region through Odin and see if you get the next OTA (also use home_csc so it doesn't wipe data).
My N950FD is XSG and it received OTAs, but then I flashed BTU firmware and OTAs stopped even though my CSC was still XSG. So I just flashed the newest XSG firmware with Odin, and will see if I get the June update when it's released.
A factory reset can sometimes work. Has for me in the past.
Couple of months ago I did not have my phone for about 5 weeks, saw there had been an update since but when I got it back, nothing. Factory reset and it popped up on the first boot.

Note 9 Update to other CSC

I have two questions.
I updated my note 9 pie via "apply update from sd card" a few weeks ago and all went well. However i'm wondering if I still will be able to get updates (from the NEE region). I am on the NEE region CSC, but I applied the update file before the pie update rolled out in the NEE region, but with a newer build number of the pie update. (note that I did update to pie already on NEE region CSC without reseting the device)
If Updating OTA is not possible in the future, can I just flash the newer NEE region update (with reset ofc) without downgrading to oreo first?
Thanks in advance!
Yes, if OTA is for some reason is not available use Odin instead (and no downgrading to Oreo).

Firmware CSC Code

Pie update was released in Turkey. I was using Slovakia Pie Rom. So i downloaded Tur Rom via Samfirm and flashed it to the phone. But phone info app shows firmware csc cod: XEF. I think it must be TUR to get ota updates. What i did is wrong?
Yesterday I flashed the TMB firmware update onto my ATT unlocked note 8 and my csc code stll says ATT. Im trying to get in on tmobile to get ota updates and wifi calling because the feature is currently unavailable.

Update DBT with VD2 CSC

Hi together,
In Germany the android 11 update is only available for vd2 csc.
I have a free version (DBT) and I'm tired of waiting for the update to come.
Is it possible to use the vd2 firmware from sammobile and update my phone manually using odin.
I would use the home for csc, because i just want to update without loosing all my data.
Will this cause any problem. Has somebody already done is successfully?
Thanks for help^^

N960F/DS Swap firmware region

I have Note 9 with Indonesian Firmware and im thinking to flash Australian firmware. I checked the phone model number and its exactly same (N960F/DS). what im worried about is
1. if I flash Australian firmware, would I keep getting the notification if theres any patch / software update or I'll have to find the update manually?
2. if I still get the patch / software update notification, would I get the Australian ver. or the original (Indonesian) ver? (im afraid if its different)
3. Would Samsung Pay System work in Australian firmware? ( I read if you flash different firmware to the phone model, some functions wont work including Samsung Pay System).
Any help would greatly appreciated
1. if I flash Australian firmware, would I keep getting the notification if theres any patch / software update or I'll have to find the update manually?
if you flash the firmware with the Austrailian CSC, you will only get updates from carriers within that CSC in accordance with what network your SIM is connecting to. Only time you flash them manually is if you have an aftermarket recovery such as TWRP
2. if I still get the patch / software update notification, would I get the Australian ver. or the original (Indonesian) ver? (im afraid if its different)
see above
3. Would Samsung Pay System work in Australian firmware? ( I read if you flash different firmware to the phone model, some functions wont work including Samsung Pay System).
samsung pay doesnt work in certain countries period. that might be what youve been seeing

I tried to flash with Global Australian CSC (not for any specific carrier) and I was be able to get update OTA. Now, the problem is after I flashed Au firmware (incl, BL, AP, CP, CSC) with Odin3B, somehow the service provider software has changed to AUT/AUT/XID while previously XID/XID/XID which is weird. I tried flash using HOME CSC file and couple times I re-download the firmware and flashed other unlocked au firmwares (with android 10 version) it still gave me AUT (Switzerland) instead of XSA (Australia).
Any idea why?
