[APP] Stock Lenovo Camera App for Custom Roms

Hi,
We can use our stock camera app in custom roms like LineageOS, AICP, DU.I only tested on DU but I think it should also work on other roms.
How to install it:
Flash it with TWRP and reboot to system.

For me Open camera is slower than stock taking photos. I don't know why. Why are you saying open is better? Thx!

I think it was the image quality.. did that long time back.
Go ahead and compare the the two or any other app..

I installed the app. It is mostly unusable due to crashes. Bt when it works photos are flawless.

I have 3.4b installed, works better, no crashes, more configuration options available.

I tried that version it doesn't work. What device did you choose from the settings for hdr+. I tried it kept crashing.

its not working bruh ! tried every HDR+ mode but the App is getting stopped evertime I do this.
though if you still want to use the HDR+ mode choose from Pixel & when the app crashes..
1.long press the App Icon
2.Select take a selfie
3.Change to Rear Camera
it will work but its annoying :silly:

I've been using this for a 3 days now and it is pretty awesome! Thank you so much! Photos are way better than any modded cameras out there.
The only thing I've been struggling to fix now is the slow motion. It says "can't connect to the camera". I've tried basic fixes out of YouTube and tried flashing some fixes I found on the internet -esp. here in XDA but I am still out of luck.
I am 99% complete now on this camera, just the slow motion isn't working. I am using Xiaomi Redmi 4x running Resurrection Remix 5.8.5-20170929-santoni-Final
I surely will wait for your help.

Thank you so much. I'll look forward to it. And one more thing as I am currently playing with the cam right now, 60FPS also won't work on my device. I have replaced media_profiles.xml and set the necessary permissions but it also says "can't connect to the camera"

Camera App crashes after making any changes in settings . I have done everything dats recomended but nothing helps .

What device are you using and what rom?

Are you using magisk root? Uninstall the stock camera first via any system app remover. Secondly, Try flashing camera 2 api module. Then download the modded camera on this thread. Works for me (except slow motion and 60fps video -but fix will be coming soon as per dev.)

Install camera2api enabler module. Then install the gcam attached on OP. Reboot and done

Same happened with me too.
I was on stock rom BTW.
I reverted back to stock media_profiles.xml
But the stock miui camera supports the slo-mo and works quite fine at a speed of x0.25

Go to build.prop and add the following line without quotes
"persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1".
OR
2) Magisk module :

Is it working in stock rom(rooted)???

Does it process hdr+ for back camera as i tried with your provided apk and more than 10 ports got only one port working that too for front camera .
Other ports just capure normal picture no processing at all.

Everything is working fine except slowmo. App is crashing every time I click on slowmo option and I need to restart the phone....and by the way, iam using Moto z cam for slowmo!!!! ?

I have the same issue. It shows that HDR+ / Enhanced is enabled but it doesn't seem to do anything.
I've tried at least 5 different camera mods and tried every setting, never once I noticed it actually used HDR +

The quality is bad though and it crushed after closing it ...
We are still far from having a replacement for the stock camera

I think sony is fully reworking his camera app for xz3 launch.
I hope so, 'cause external portrait mode sucks, for quality and for positioning

Modified GCam will never work on any Xperia device as long as sony doesnt allow RAW support, Gcam mod requires full camera2.api support which Xperia phones doesnt have. GCam will only work on Xperia if you are on AOSP ROM. so dont hope too much.

Full Camera2 API level is already supported by xperias.
They just lack raw capability indeed, which if really any would be covered by level_3

But AOSP has full camera 2api.

I upgraded it to 5.0 via the XDA app.
Features looks the same and video recording works.

I can see that it can only takes 8.3mp pictures which is the same as this one HERE
But does it takes HDR+ in AOSP rom ?
Also, have anyone had any luck with defcomg technique ? it would be great because it's stock rom.

I tried using the following versions on my XZ2 H8216
1) defcomg-fix_OP6v0.3_MGC_5.1.018_FINAL_3.4A
- photo mode works fine but I'm not really impressed with image quality. Video does not work. Also every setting I change, app won't start again.
2) MGC_5.1.018_v2e_tolyan009_v1.3.2
and/or
3) MGC_5.1.018_v2e_tolyan009_v1.3.6.
- both seems to be working fine. Photos and videos work fine and look good. Haven't tried other features and changing settings...
I hope this info helps and someone will try to test everything.

Seems like gcam on stock would never workaround drmfix because of the missing raw support.
But after the tama aosp camera Framework got implementated we will get better pictures.

not really with adb you can get it:
adb shell pm list packages
adb shell pm path your-package-name
adb pull full/directory/of/the.apk

Thanks @Killuminati91 what version it is? mine is 9.0.30.49 and with this one is still the same or the magisk module I made is not updating or needs something else.
I placed in in the module at /product/priv-app/MotCamera4/MotCamera4.apk

The Cam app once opened on settings>about says version is 9.0.30.78 so looks like it is updated but closing the camera app and goign to system settings>apps>allapps>camera still says 9.0.30.49 on my device
Anyway i don't see much change with this app, we will need to wait for a new update or some works on the custom roms or someothing from the new xiaomi X12 Pro that has the same 200Mpx sensor

Yeah, the app itself is not the main problem for the sensor. Its deeper in the libs, you can see that focus is also broken in third party apps at 4k 60fps.
I'd also assume that the color calibration / (maybe even raw?) is done with their Camera-Tuner App, so that might be related as well.
Thought about swapping the libs with the xiaomi ones as well once we get a full rom of that phone. Gotta wait and see

Also worth trying this, to see if at least we can get the raw 200Mpx data for manual settings where 50 is max
by:
1.- Edit the file (with a magisk module) camxoverridesettings.txt at vendor/etc/camera and add this line at the end:
reprocessDump=TRUE
2.- Then once you take any picture in othere phones files will be generated at ./data/vendor/camera with the full raw stuff.
But with this phone it is not working, mb the camxoverridesettings.txt goes in other location in this phone

Just tested with the camxoverridesettings.xml from the Xiaomi 12t pro and it definitely replaces the file.
I also tried to replace the samsung hp1 libs from vendor/lib and vendor/lib64 with the ones from the xiaomi but they all crash the camera once installed.
