Slow. 6 secs for taking a screenshot - Huawei P20 Pro Questions & Answers

I need to take screenshots quite often for work. Each takes about 6 seconds!
During this period, basically you can't do anything but edit the shot which I don't actually need to.
It is very annoying.
Anyone experiencing this?

In my humble experience it was so rapid it blew my mind coming from s8
It literally have feels like it have the screenshot before I push the buttons
One thing I am less happy about is that it doesn't show up in the drop down menu but that is truly minor

I found the solution by myself. Under developer options, with animation speed all off. It takes the longest time : 6 seconds. Wth 1X speed: 4 seconds and 0.5X speed 3 seconds. So 0.5 speed is the answer
Btw, i come from S8 too and really impressed by P20P's battery, camera and overall smoothness.

Slowest Camera in the group!

Gee at least Microsoft is consistent, the camera is as slow as the rest of the OS.

The OS isnt slow, and it doesnt take 8 seconds to take a picture after loading the camera...it just took me 3 seconds!
EDIT: And more like 5 seconds from a locked phone.
I would never go after a nokia test or benchmark. dude, they're absolutely locked in an ivory castle tower .. what is an N9 after all .. they're way behind all manufacturers hardware/os and still feel they're n1 ...
our handset shoots very sharp pictures in my opinion and night pictures are just the best (compared to my sisters bb9700 bold/w flash and my brother's optimus 7). I am a previous owner of an acer liquid, sammy i900/i780/ centro/ and much more.
I feel the hd7 is an amazing package if you understand how to use/accept a smartphone. screen size is amusing and for the low capacity battery it stays a full day on a single charge utilizing camera, music player wifi, sadly no bt as it is of no use to me atm
peaceout
I agree the native part of the OS is fantastic BUT any market application even after NoDo is painfully slow. I hope this changes with Mango!

Ya you guys are right, it took 5 seconds from a locked phone and 1 second with the camera up.
Silly chart!
The OS is not slow at all. Oh, and keep in mind you can start the camera even without unlocking the screen.

thanks a lot more feedbacks from others
Can someone please try taking a call with the phone plugged into the headset port (auxiliary) of a car stereo? With the S3 callers report a terrible echo of their voice when the call is played over the speaker, I didn't have this problem with previous android devices, and I'm curious if the HTC One properly handles this or if the caller hears terrible echo.

1. Too early to tell. Especially new phone, means I'm constantly messing around with it.
2. Apart from my issue with a very tiny gap, build quality is fine. Some may disagree but in terms of workmanship my iphone is better. Phone does feel solid though
3. Slightly, you get use to it though
4. Good, not much reflection. No sun these days, so hard to get a judgement of reflection in sunlight.
5. Awsome! As good as you ever get on a phone.
6. Sorry, haven't taken any yet.

My Nexus 5 Review

Hi all I've spent the weekend with the Nexus 5 and have put together a review, over all very very good. Not much to grumble about with the Nexus 5.
Feel free to ask questions, ill be stopping back into this thread in a few hours, hopefully the video covers everything people want to know.
Excellent review even through your camera section does not mesh with what others have said or shown. Great detail and thoroughness
great review, subscribed!
Thanks for the lengthy and detailed review. Glad to hear your positives.
Discouraged to hear the WiFi issue, although that sounds like something Google will patch quickly.
Rubbish camera app... Agreed it has been too long without an update. Focal has always seemed half baked to me, and it's not good that n5 isn't supported yet.
I will watch it as soon as I can mate!
Does Transparent Android and and navigation bar work with live wallpapers such as Paperland?
How is RAM management, how much is in use currently, how much is cached, do you see it using less or the same as your previous phone?
Are Google Services, particularly Now! and location services cause large standby drainage?
How is optical image stabilization working?
Does it get hot during benchmarks, gaming, any thermal throttling and gaming lag cause of heat?
Thanks for this nice review.
IMHO you are too optimistic when you suppose that the "wobbly power button" issue will be fixed.
As for the poor Wifi strength, it will certainly be a deal breaker for me it is confirmed. (you make another optimistic assumption that it may be a software issue, but I'd say it's more likely to be a hardware issue).
glad to hear the speaker is louder than the G2 was kind of low. weird considering LG makes both phones
Thanks, I'm going to check out your review this afternoon.
only a few minutes into the review so far, but so far so good! i very much like your presentation style, and just the basics such as proper camera work are very good so far. :good:
Thanks for the info you did a great job with the review. I havent recieved my device yet so it was nice to drool over a 32 minute video.

Does the phone get noticeably hot while gaming? Does it suffer from intense throttling after a while (the G2 does)? How long does it take to charge the battery up?

No where near as hot as the GS4 i was surprised i think it gets hotter shooting a video than it does when playing an hour of gaming.
This review rocks - good job!
Trustedreviews.com also have one up if people are interested - just seen it appear a second ago.Looks like they're all coming in now.

Androidizen, do you have any personal recommendations for 3rd party cam apps? I know it's early days to be fair so many won't be optimised/compatible yet
ps. gold award for you for managing to get the phrase 'willy waiving' into an otherwise serious review
Great review. I will ask about the camera though. In the video you are trying to have it focus in something literally inches away from the sensor so it will obviously be hard to focus at that distance.
Does it act the same way if you are taking a picture at a normal distance?
Nice :3 have to save money :3
just finished the review, very well done! :good::good:

Clarity/resolution

The LG V10 has a crazy crisp display. Just kidding, this is automated text so who knows if this screen is any good. So, you be the judge! A higher rating indicates that it's extremely sharp and clear, and that you cannot see pixels with your naked eye.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
I dont know if you guys and gals with good eyes notice.. But I suggest anyone looking at an LG G4 or v10 to look at and read the screens with reading glasses on.. The IPS screen clarity is unrivaled.
For my eyes, the ever so slight increase in size to the G4 makes the screen easier to read.
as if...
all pictures and facebokf posts with images or videos are very poor quality. they are all distorted and very fuzzy.. I think I'm switching to another phone.

I think the display has excellent clarity and with 560 DPI you would be hard pressed to see imperfections. Could it be something wrong with your software configuration as hardware problems would be evident all the time ?

well not sure since I just got this phone Saturday and have not messed with anything. How can I know?
That is software problem. If it was hardware it would affect everything

I'm really enjoying the clarity of the resolution, but in the last few days I've started to notice something strange. Had the V10 for almost a month now. I've noticed that every now and then, when I hit the power button while looking at the screen, it looks like an old 3D effect (seen without the glasses), around all writing and icons. It looks like red & blue outlines, sort of 1/2 & 1/2, and only for a millisecond or so. Anyone else seeing bad 80's 3D?

It's hard to understand what you are seeing.
It could be the Lock Screen's Swipe Effect or maybe the Blurred background view that happens when the phone is On and the Power button is held down to view the Shut down choices.
Check those to see if they are causes

Very good to me.
I do wear glasses for close up, yet don't need them with this phone.

Time to take picture (camera launch speed)

There! Something just happened! Did you take a picture of it? Rate this thread to express how fast the Google Pixel 2 can go from "zero to picture". A higher rating indicates that launching the camera app and taking a photo is extremely fast such that you never miss an important moment, like when your cat attacks the couch again.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
Having used the Pixel 2 in a Verizon store, this aspect of the phone looks VERY promising. Leaps and bounds faster than my Nexus 6P.
Camera launch is actually the fastest I have ever seen on a smartphone, also faster than iPhone 8 Plus.
No issues whatsoever with bringing the camera up. I love the double press the power button to start the camera; so much more fluid than the ridiculous swipe gestures I could never get to go right on iOS.
Camera launch speed is really fast (for now... The phone is still new).
Camera was really slow in my Nexus 6 and 6P. I was always missing occasions. Took almost 5 seconds every time to be ready to take a shot.
Now it's about 1 second at most.

You could try deleting apps data and cache
I figured I'd time the camera "zero to picture". No way, it's too fast. 200ms? It's faster than I am, so I'm the limit in how fast I can get a picture, the app is no limit at all.
Best Camera in the section
Undoubtedly, Google has taken AI into a smartphone camera to another level.
1-2 seconds using double press power button
Camera startup time and click time is really fast. really happy with camera.
Mine has slowed down significantly over the last year... It can take up to 10 seconds until all the buttons are active. Not sure what's wrong...
