Hello
i'm using Lineage OS 14.1 on dual SIM phone (xiaomi redmi 3 pro)
Lineage does not have the possibility to switch off one SIM like MIUI roms.
I would like to integrate this function but I am not able!!
I searched the web and found that the command << setSimPowerStateForSlot(getSlotIndex(), state); >> on framework TelephonyManager.java it is the function to perform ON/OFF sim.
how can I do? i have also root permission
Thanks
Check out Dual SIM control.

"Features
Compatible with Mediatek phones if used with a standard ROM (Sony-Ericsson, MIUI, and any ROM which have been heavily modified by the manufacturer can work, but are not supported)"
The Redmi note 3 Pro is not a Mediatek phone as it uses a Snapdragon 650.

Have 2 note 8 sm-n950n from korea 256GB . Branded carriers are lgu And kt both are identical internally. They have access to ims settings menu to access volte and video call with in the dialer. Samsung experience 9/ oreo down load locked out access to this option. It now requires otp key to enter a password. I thought originally was a carrier change.. But as I updated the new lgu phone I wasn't locked out until the 1 GB Samsung experience 9 /oreo download. With out volte the dialer doesn't even work correctly..as it is version 10 vs 16 on my sprint 64GB note 8. Any one have any idea how to obtain the key list? Samsung international korea not responding.. Not available in english.
(My very first post, very sorry if this is the wrong place to ask this question.)
I am trying to write an app to support 5G-specific function, but cannot figure out how to detect the phone is on a 5G network. Android Q added a new network type, NETWORK_TYPE_NR, but it is not available in Android Pie. The just-released Samsung S10 5G is running in Android Pie yet has fully supported 5G function. It also has a 5G icon to indicate whether the phone is on 5G or not.
So how does it do that? Is it possible for the third party-app to know whether the phone is on 5G or not?
Any help (or tip, hint et al) is appreciated! I looked at the Android open source code but there is no mention on 5G on the Pie branch.
Hello,
Am new user of note 8 N950F.
At my last phone, i was using 2 sim cards. Now i see that N950F support only 1 sim card and 1 memory card
Is there any way that i can use 2 sim cards in n950f?
Thank You!
I don't think that is possible for the N950F. As it is designed to as a single SIM device.
Sorry!
Please delete post!
Strange how there's 2 sim toolkits running still.
I'm ok with pie but oreo starting to sound better.
Call recording and dual sim would be nice...

Depending on where your device originates from you may stil have call recording after you hae installed Pie onto your device. I installed Pie onto my N950N and I still have Call Recording on it.
if you device comes with the hybrid simcard tray, you can either use dual sim & no SD Card, or 1 sim and 1 SD Card.
Back on oreo you can buy those adapters to use 2 simcards and 1 SD card simultaneously but on Pie (One UI) samsung decided to block it.. so you can either use Dual Sim & No Sd Card or 1 sim & 1 SD Card.
I hated this.. so i went out to installed a pre-rooted custom rom as close to stock i can find, which the ROM maker edited it to accept the dual sim & 1 sdcard mod. I lost my knox and samsung pay, bt got samsung pay to work on my samsung gear sport instead. dont misunderstand me, spay still doesnt work on the phone but can work on gear sport if you hide the spay related packages via magisk hide.
Secure folders dont work anymore unfortunately. it was my favourite to "hide" apps and a seperate and secure photo gallery..
as for call recording, google decided to kill off 3rd party call recording (yes, google not samsung did it).. BUT since android has native call recording, and is activated via CSC, and having a rom that is pre-rooted, i went ahead and activated call recording.. and enabled camera shutter sound option (to enable the option to switch off camera shutter sound in camera app)
so, if you do not mind loosing knox and knox related features, go get yourself a custom rom. (i personally went for Dr Ketan's ROM)
Thank you!
This sound good because andorid version on my phone is 8.0.0 and smasung experience version is 9.0

But this isn't really dual sim.. U can only use 1sim at a time. Unlike real dual sim with active standby for both sims

You are right!
Don't think you can truly convert a single sim phone (SM-N950F) into a true dual sim phone (SM-N950F/DS).
Because I think you'll need 2 IMEI's numbers while the SM-N950F has only one IMEI number. So that is probably the only choice is to switch between the sims.
I deleted my first post because that was more for the dual sim phone and not for the single sim phone. Sorry for the confusion on that!
Hopefully someone has figured something out for the single sim phone to use 2 sims at once (1 active and 1 in standby mode)!
Wish the OP luck on figuring this out!
Ohhh, on sime per time. Is same as single sim
I will continue use my single sim note 8
yes, this isn't a dual sim this way. In my opinion is dual sim constantly have 2 number available.
Like the SM-N950FD
Hello,
On this page : https://wiki.lineageos.org/devices/dipper , I can read that the mi 8 supports SD card up to 256 GB (hybrid sim slot).
Could anybody who owns this phone confirm this information ?
mi8 doesn't have an sdcard slot
Thank you Rdzeniuch
You can insert an SD card with a "Hybrid Sim Slot Phone into A DUAL SIM + MICRO SD"
Search the web and you will easily find how to do it.

Please do not spread false information, Xiaomi Mi 8 doesn't have an sdcard slot, it only have dual sim, the adapter you mention only works to add a second sim to a device that has an hybrid slot (sim + sim or sdcard)

Mr. jrafael, the fact that you are a "Senior Member" does not mean that you understand more than me or others.
I'm not "spread false information", that's what I found on the net (Mostly from India).
There are hundreds of tutorials and videos that show how to add SD CARD to MI8.
I personally have not used this technology (insert Hybrid Sim Slot) because I do not need to add SD CARD.
Next, read a post before you respond.
Anyway, have a nice day.

The issue that you dont understand is that the Xiaomi Mi 8 only have dual sim reader only, meaning the pins inside will never align to read a sdcard, a google search as you pointed out using the adapter you mention its onlt for phones that alow a sim + sim or SDcard, meaning that inside the simcard reader of the hybrid slot there are aditional pins to read a sim or a sdcard and the adapter allow you to insert the sdcard and pigtail the sim.
Again this is only possible on devices that utilize a Hybrid slot wich Xiaomi Mi 8 does not have, maybe other variants of the Mi8 like the Mi8 Pro or Mi8 Lite have that option but the Mi8 itself does not.
As you can see from GSM arena specs comparasion, the Mi8 DOES NOT support sdcard, however the Mi8 Lite does has it has hybrid sim slot. but again the person that posted the question asked about a Mi8 not Mi8 Lite

Thank you for the detailed explanation.
You may be right, but what bothered me was your comment that I was "spreading false information" so I reacted as I did before.
I emphasized that I had not tried the "Hybrid Sim Slot" on my MI8 device.
Does anyone know if there's a way to get the NFC working on my Mi Note 11?
I'm in Australia and have gone from a Mi 9 with NFC to a Mi Note 11 which seemed to have it in the advertised specs, but after some googling, and seeing a little asterisk next to the NFC label saying that NFC compatibility was "*dep. on the region", I'm left with a phone that doesn't have any NFC menu in the OS at all.
Is it something that can be fixed by flashing a different firmware, or is there some kind of hardware limitation with my specific model?
Full specs attached
Quick look on your version shows that you have 13.0.6 SGCMIXM
13.0.6: MIUI 13
S: You are on Android 13
GC: You are on the non-NFC model. My RN11 with NFC is GK
MI: Global ROM
XM: Xiaomi
Your model is the non-NFC version
