The Samsung calendar app seems to be playing up.. i get notifications for things i haven't set reminders for.. and when i delete the mystery reminders they come back... email reminder aswell.
My Google calendar stopped notifications after Oreo update if that's any consolation. Missed my dad's birthday.

I have the newest facebook version just updated several days ago. I have never used the notifications feature but for some reason I am receiving notifications from the app now. I even tried enabling and disabling all of them to perhaps "re-write" the app setting but did not work.
Is this app broken?
Same thing is happening to me on my EVO.
Are they notifications of chat messages? Because I know they just added chat and I don't think you can shut those messages off.

The app is definitely broken. I'm surprised this passed QC.

They are notifications for anything - reply to post, chat, etc. I think I may try re-installing the app.

QC? on Android? LOL. Even google doesn't do QC.
Not to mention FB hates Android, or pretty much anything Google. The FB App was so bad for so long, I'm surprised it has gotten as well developed as it has. At least now we're just about caught up to the iPhone app.

My buddy and I both have he same problems. The 2 things that Dont work are huge... No texts and email notifications. We each got 1 when first synced and have not received one since

Reminder, if the phone is on, you will not get a notification to the Gear.

Being on different carrier should not matter, I am on Tmobile. Go into the Gear app-settings-notifications, make sure you have that turned on and then hit the word notification to go into submenu and check native email and text apps.
Next, put the phone to sleep, turn it back on, send yourself a text and put phone to sleep right away. Give it about a minute and the text should ring on the phone and in the Gear.

go to the galaxy gear app on the phone, click settings, click notifications and select messages and mail then hit the thank button for me! haha
Have you checked the notification settings inside the Galaxy Gear Manager program?

Its directly from Verizon so you never know what scam they have up their sleeve to save a few bucks. I have tried to re pair up the device and same results. Any one have Verizon here?

When you created the gmail account in native email app, did you do manual set up or auto? You may want to delete the account, recreate it by selecting auto after you enter the email address and password. On the next screen, there is a drop down box, select PUSH. Try this, send yourself an email from PC or something, keep the phone asleep and see if you get the notification on the phone followed by notification on Gear. Make sure under the Gear app settings, notifications for email is checked.
Report back if not working.

I receive the text less than a second after my phone gets it. Literally my pocket buzzes and by the time I look down at my watch it vibrates. Then I can read it and reply back with s voice . Not a single problem. I'm in love with both devices.

Yep, and to be honest I didn't do anything special. I'm using the stock messaging app and email. I just took it out of the box and used it.

I start the morning off good with messages coming through, but then a few hours in they stop, and it is getting really annoying.... I am on latest gear manager and everything....anyone else have this issue? Or know of a fix?
If I can't consistently get messages to my watch, it is worthless.

I agree, that would make it worthless to me to.
I had problems with text notifications etc at first myself.
It took me a while to realize that for notifications to make it to the watch, I had to be running the stock messaging app (I had been using HandCent for years) & the phone screen had to be off at all times.
I installed the modded version of the stock TW messaging that has a toggle for screen on/off when a message came in. After switching to that (plus using the Samsung email app as opposed to GMAIL), I now get all my gear notifications almost instantly and I love the thing.
I also loaded my custom ringtones to the gear so it will ring a lot louder.

It could I suppose, I have found that absolutely anything that turns the screen on will block the notification from getting through to the watch.
I don't use a lockscreen (I just go straight into the phone from the home screen/power buttons)
I saw a post from someone saying that lock widgets will mess up the gear but I don't know if it's true.
I know mine works perfectly and I'm not updating ANYTHING at this point!!

I notice that my gear 2 neo does not receive text message notifications sometimes. I dunno if it's a bug in the software. Anyone else noticing this?
make sure your using the defalt messaging app for the phone , I know with the s5 It wont work unless I use default message app , I can see notifications from handscent sms
ect, but cant reply to them , only default app can reply , other then that seems to be all ok here.
Yeah that's the first thing I had to do when I got it. Unfortunately it still hasn't been sending the notifications to my gesr. Any other notification works tho.

Out of curiosity did you do a factory reset on the watch or the phone? (not sure if watch one is possible, but just wondered lol). I get my Neo tomorrow and excited.

So we have allo, duo, messaging, hangouts, voice, Google+... What in good God's name is going on? Tried allo and duo, saw nothing worth wasting my time on. Uninstalled. Can't they make 1 app that does everything properly and in fact pulls in WhatsApp, viber and Skype into it to have one do it all app instead of this confusing mess?

The best feature I think it has is the incognito messaging. It has end to end encryption and pretty much self destructs at a interval you choose.
problem is, that your contacts, and possibly your messages arent getting destroyed at any interval at this point. and they are being stored on Google servers so, thats why alot of folks have no interest is using this snooping infested app..
