Got an update and got excited thinking maybe Oreo since it's begin to roll out internationally, but it's just the April 1 security update (BRD1).

I just want to check that this is known.
Were there two June updates?
I got two one around the 15th and another similar sized update on the 17th or so.
Did I get the same update twice?
Still says June 1, 2016 patch level

What version are you on now? If you're on MOB30M, you're on the newest.
yes, now on mob30m.
searching for mob30m for nexus 6 - suggests that there was a release for mob30j and mob30m
Thanks all

From the official page: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#shamu the releases are mmb30j and mob30m.
A friend wants me to update his phone. He currently has the January 2016 build. I update my Nexus 6 monthly so I am not sure about this... but do I have to install the security updates one month at a time till I get him caught up (UGH) or can I download the latest July update and flash it without issues?
And sorry if this has been asked before... I have searched all over here and google and just cannot find the answer.
Thanks!
Flash the latest.

The best news I have heard all day. THANK YOU.
I can see it here https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-s8/SM-G950U/VZW/download/G950USQS5CRF5/225094/ and on other similar websites, but not on official verizon page:
https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/samsung-galaxy-s8-update/
Did anybody receive it via OTA or flashed it via Odin?
I'm still on June patch and update check says I'm using the latest one.
I received mine OTA early in July. I'm in southern California in case that makes a difference

It is July
I am assuming that Samsung does the monthly security updates...
It's monthly but it is usually not released till mid month each month. I have S9+ and updates I'm receiving are released closer to the end month.

Ah, okay. Sorry about the noob question. I just got the thing.
No but right now I'm getting my second update with the August 1 patch. This second one is larger than the first.
Yes, this is really strange as I already had the August Security Patch and got an update today and I thought it was the Sept patch but it seems to be a 2nd August Patch?View attachment 4817286

Anyone know of a way to turn off forced updates and just allow them when I want to install them?
On Sprint fw I had Sept1, after flashing U1 latest is Aug1 as of now.
I got the notification. I just wanted to be sure it works...

That is really weird, unless there were no such vulnerabilities.

Have the security updates for this phone finished (XQ-AT52)?
I haven't had one since the June 2022 update.
