What should I use for video playback?
K-Lite Codec Pack Mega https://veadug.com/en/36-k-lite-codec-pack.html
or
VLC Media Player https://veadug.com/en/33-vlc-media-player.html
Which of these programs is more stable? Which one has more functionality?

VLC Good player, but I prefer the player Light Alloy http://light-alloy.ideaprog.download/ more, he does not need additional codecs. It is a complete software set for video playback

Go for K - Lite Codec Pack, it has no glitches and easy to use.

MX Player rules. Both paid and free versions.

Mx player, very good

MPC-HC is the correct answer. No codec packs needed. LAV filters built in. Much better quality than VLC. Plays everything. Borderless window and keyboard shortcuts ftw.

BSplayer
I have used to watch movies with BSplayer back in college days. It has advanced subtitle tools and easy to use.

best way to watch videos?

i cant find a good way to convert my avi files to play on windows media or find a program that will play my avi's is there like a codec for windows media?
sry for the noobieness
TCPMP is probably the best player and includes the DIVX codec.
It's also free!!
You can download it at:-
http://tcpmp.en.softonic.com/pocket
Tcpmp Is The Solution
The only video player I ever use is tcpmp. It has all of the features of a desktop player including full screen, equalizer with preamp, and I havent found a video file yet that there wasn't a codec for.
http://picard.exceed.hu/tcpmp/0.71/
well it plays the file but the video lags horibly the audios all right though when ever i try to lower the video quality on the program it crashes

The best player

Which is the best player to watch movies with lots of codecs?
unfortunately we are out of luck...
i have yet to find a player that will play divx .avi files right off the bat.
the work around (that probably works 100% of the time) is converting your video to another format...
never tried it though.
So maybe u can recommend player which u use?
There's an app called xyflash or something similar which will play DivX files but not particularly well yet, still needs optimization.
I'd strongly recommend converting on your PC using DoubleTwist or Handbrake and use the inbuilt video player or Meridian which is an mp3 player which also plays videos but keep in mind that almost every video player available on android at the moment just sits ontop of the inbuilt video player.

[Q] What's the best video player for the tab?

Ok. I know there are several video players at the market. But not sure which is the best on the SGT.
I have VLC player on several of my machines at work and at home. It has become my #1 media player. Also, I have videos in these formats:
Extension: .mp4
- -video codec: H264 - MPEG 4 AVC (avc1) 480x192 @ 24 fps
- -audio codec: MPEG AAC (mp4a) 48khz
Extension: .ogv
- -video codec: Xiph.org Theora (theo) 1280x544 @ 24 fps
- -audio codec: Vorbis Audio (vorb) 48khz
I need a player that supports those video formats as well as others like xvid, .mov & .avi
I really want VLC Player on my tab but I guess it doesnt exist. So whats my alternatives?

Vplayer

RockPlayer
Using RockPlayer

I am using vplayer. But no matter which one you use, you will hear a faint humming sound in the headphones. I thought the problem was with vplayer but I noticed it in other players too except the stock player which has some cool features like bookmark and lock screen which others don't have.
Vplayer for streaming via tversity and upnp. Stock player is good but is very picky
Oh and vlc for android is due very soon
Here's the git..

M video seems the best! I love the swipe action to fast forward or rewind
The back ground noise is from the Tab its self, simlar error on the i9000, use a new kernel with voodoo sound and should/will solve ya problem
Sent From I9000/P1000 Darkys 9.3
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions. I will try both mplayer and vplayer.
Well I read the VLC discussion forums and it seems that the developers are working hard but are still a long way from a release. By the looks of it perhaps by May or June we could have a stable VLC Player version at Android Market.

Video Player help???
Hey guys,
I have a Spring Galaxy Tab. I have it rooted and everything. I've been trying to find a all in one video player but none of them seems to be working correctly. I have several movies and videos I converted to watch on my EVO or my Zune HD, but now that I have my tab, I would like use them there too. All the videos are in Mp4 format with either a 320x240 res 600x480 (forget what the numbers are but its the level above 320x240).
Vplayer - starts up and immediately shouts down. The the icon changes and is grayed out with a little memory card icon on it. Then I have to uninstall it.
Divx Demo Player (Rock player with extras) - and it wont play anything. But it plays any format of video or movie on my Evo.
Rock Player - I have the new version from the site and it wont play anything
Seems like nothing is working.. Most times it gives a error saying the video formats are not supported. But I have all these video player on my Evo (Which I know is a completely different device) but I'm wondering if my TAB needs video codecs or something?
Any ideas?
Moboplayer
How about the stock video player of ginegerbird version,(with media striaght fight =false)?
Have u try? the stock one play mp4 avi mkv without problem except rmvb.

I will try Moboplayer. I'm still running the stock rom. Havnet tried to update to Gingerbread yet. Didnt think any of the roms would work since they are not based on the Sprint Tab.
I think I know what's wrong
Still getting the same errors on my movies. I converted them with iSkysoft Media Coverter for Mac.
Some of the movies I used the iPhone 4 profile.:H.264, 960x640 res, 30fps, 1500kbps birate.
And some using the iPod Touch mp4 profile: mp4 video codec, 640x480 res, 30fps, 2500kbps bitrate.
So now I see why they arent working, although both of those profiles work for the Evo and Zune HD,.
What is the complete best video format, res, frame etc... for the Sprint Galaxy Tab?

Only phones with native mkv video format support can play .mkv videos efficiently. So, forget about mkv, it doesn't matter which player you use. But anyway, the best video player for me is RockPlayer.
Try Vital player. It supports SMI and SRT subtitle files.
But i don't try mkv files. It should work coz rmvb works.
..
QQ Player works great on My HD2.
Vitalplayer works fine.
Mediacoder
I think the best method would to just burn the subtitles into the encoded video...
Furthermore, MKV container can support a lot of different video (most commonly h.264)...
either way, it would be beneficial to convert to h.264 video and aac audio in mp4 container... Then virtually all target devices can play the file. You'll run 720p that way a lot better too (480p ideally to save space)
So, if you have a nvidia card with PureVideo2 I definitely recommend this method...(or a decent cpu)
mediacoder has cuda encoder bundled with it to make quick work of video->mp4
Here are some of my settings that I use in Winmo, plays back flawlessly on android too.
Video:
Avg bitrate - 1200 (you can set it higher if you want... you'll just get a bigger file size with marginally better quality imo)
Format - h.264
Encoder - Cuda (NVidia cards) , ffmpeg (cpu encoding)
Audio:
Format - LC-AAC
Encoder - FAAC
Avg Bitrate - 128 MPEG4
Container - MP4 (select it in both audio and container tab)
Picture:
Resize - 800x480
Aspect Ratio - Set pixel AR, 1:1
Crop - Disabled
Subtitle
Renderer - Default
Scale, position, outline, blur) - adjust for subtitle appearance
ID - 0 to # (set according which subtitle you want to use from the source video
These are just some loose settings to get you into ballpark range...
make sure you preview before you encode a bunch of files and make sure it works on the device.
I also think there is a "portable device" edition of mediacoder
Sorry for the long post.
mobo player plays mkv with subs but it isnt the best. good enough for the meantime till i find something better.

[Q] Best video player for Anime?

Hi all,
Just wondering what video player apps (free/paid) that's best for playing ANIME with Subtitle? (similar to PC's Media Player Classic thingy?able to choose audio and subtitle?)
Not sure anyone has hobby like mine, but I do carry some anime with me on my SD Card to watch on the go on my previous PDA (HTC KAISER) and it plays perfectly. (althou some doesn't have subtitle)
Anyone have similar situation and some advise to this android newbie?
17/02/2012 updates: (tested anime with .mkv files)
***Tried MoboPlayer 1.2.200 - great at playing the videos, but no subtitle
***Tried Mobo Video Player Pro v1.0.6 - laggy when playing anime, no subtitle
Regards,
SiLvErBoLd17
Try either Dice or mVideo player, both work well with anime.
MX Video Player ( https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad and its codec pack at https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mxtech.ffmpeg.v7_neon ) has worked just peachy for me. It does have support for multiple streams et. al., and it's also plenty fast, too.

MX Player is the best ! I watch only anime & it has never let me down even once. The new HW+ decoder works wonders
Why don't you try my anime player and downloader? (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=43351881#post43351881)
It won't let you down
BS Player
BS Player
It's free and has all the codecs you'll ever need built in.
MX Player was my player of choice until they had problems securing MKV codec and others.
If you want something that plays practically all file types, is free and lightweight, then BS Player is the one.
Find it on the Play Store.
(I can't add the link, it is against XDA rules, sorry.)
Im using ARCHOS video Player on my GNOTE

How do you organize pdfs? Pdfs are the bane of the organized people. You need to put them in a site, or a subfolder, with all the files similar, yet you also can't have duplicated pdfs.
