Hey, I've been searching for a new kernel for my phone and i cant seem to find any. I have a rooted 5x running A1 8.0 custom rom. Can someone suggest a good kernel and where to get it? I was told Fire and Ice is very good but I'm open to suggestions.

OOS beta 6 is great, but custom ROM I know many people are on CM 13, as for me right now I'm running Freedom OS 2.8, it's great because you can debloat your OS through aroma, and it's compatible with Franco kernel, good luck and happy flashing.
Stock with Franco. No need for anything else
Sultans CM13 has no competition in terms of battery life and xposed functionality.
to make it easier on everyone lets keep this topic in one location. please discuss what rom you thing is the best and why, and remember to be respectful.

Hi all,
I'm pretty new to all this, so forgive my ignorance. I have a Xiaomi Mi 5 with their gloabl MIUI 7 rom installed, unfortunately I really dislike it, it's really buggy, things crash regularly, very poor if i'm honest. I was wondering if it was possible to flash stock nougat onto this phone, no MIUI or anything like that, just the standard google release?
Thanks.
Here you go AOSP

it depends if your phone is unlocked or locked, by the way you can try updating your miui 7 to 8, since it's already old.
you can see a lot of ROMs in the development section

Hi guys,
is it possible to root the phone and install clean Android version without miui? If not, is there any estimate when would it be possible?
You don't actually need to root your phone to install a "clean version of android". You will however need a unlocked bootloader and a custom recovery (TWRP)
The best and to my knowledge only custom rom for the mi max 2 is linageOS 14.1 https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-max-2/development/linageos-14-1-mi-max-2-t3634864
this closely resembles a stock android experience

thank for the answer, maybe I did not express myself clearly. I mean the "clean" version ,stock without MIUI. Just base android that comes for examples with Google devices. I though Mi Max2 comes with MIUI.

You did express yourself clearly
The phone does come with MIUI and there is no AOSP rom for it yet. That's why i mentioned linageOS as it is near stock and the only custom rom as of now.

We just have to wait for kernel sources. Then maybe (i hope) we will get more developers for Mi Max 2. If yes, then we will probably get for example AOSPX and many more
Hi Guys,
just got my new A2 and i am a bit confused. It has a Mi Services App running for opt in and some other Mi App installed which i cannot uninstall. Do i have the right Android Version? I did an OTA update but that hasn't changed the fact
If i don't want those apps, which Android 9 ROM can you recommend?
Thanks in advance!

Mi services are an opt in component. They are used by mi to collect some user experience info so as to improve upon the product.
The other mi app is the mi community app which is like any other forum found in companies like one plus etc. That too can be uninstalled... Other then that, this is pure android.
Trust me, stay on stock as long as you are getting updates.... there's no reason to switch to custom roms so soon

Thanks. I read up on other threads that all are extremely in favor of the Pie Havoc ROM. Do you have an opinion about that?

I haven't touched the world of custom rom for mi a2.
That's why, i can't give you any advice regarding them.
Stock rom is buggy mess, also why you want 9.0 rom? we already got some good 10 custom roms try them out :fingers-crossed:

What bugs you encountered?
Apart from the brightness bug(you can't go below 19 percent of brightness), I didn't encountered any bug in the stock system.

I'm currently running HAVOC-OS-v3.0 TEN on my Xiaomi MI A2 and really like it. I'd definitely recommend if you're looking to flash a custom ROM.
[ROM]-[OFFICIAL]-[18-11-2019] HAVOC-OS-v3.0 TEN [10.0]-[Jasmine_Sprout]

what about bugs? Everyone is saying differnet things
I heard android 9 havoc has almost no bugs, thats why i was thinking 9
you can disable those apps with adb commands keeping the stock rom (cant remember exactly how but it's definetly possible)
the apps are providing the feedback function (so you can report bugs if you find any) and support for the camera app - which is the miui camera instead of the stock android. (you can always install another camera app and use that instead)
Hello,
As in the title. I'm looking for a custom kernel for MI 11. Can anyone make it?
Working on it, but will be a good while.
Mine or other kernels will come when they are ready.
