What is this icon for ?
Auto Rotation OFF
Why this appears all of sudden . Most of the time I off the auto rotation and it's not appear before .
Do you use system ui tunner? This app has sometimes this issue when you hide some icons in the statusbar
Actually, my experience is, that icon shows up when you have auto-rotation on. When you turn auto-rotation off, the icon also disappears.
I thought it was an OS update available

Really odd, in my case, the icon appears when autorotation is disabled! ?
Usually stock for Samsung devices it doesn't appear at all no matter what you have it set to, well not on any of my past Samsung phones anyway.
As said, if you use System UI Tuner or ADB to disable or enable any status bar icons, it will show up. I disabled my alarm clock icon & doing so makes the rotation icon appear so I had to disable that too.
If not using System UI Tuner you can disable it using ADB, no root needed.
Code:
adb shell settings put secure icon_blacklist rotate

i am running Stock up including clock face but with NULL_18 as base for extra benefits.
how can i quickly see the battery status like what i see when i plug it in?
currently i have to go to Settings > Battery which is not quick and easy.
i had used the Watch Style app where you can get faces with battery but it seemed to use more battery and i like Stock look.
thanks for any suggestions.

When I double-tap, the status bar shows up. The problem is now when I load a full-screen app, the status bar is always there at the top. How do I go back to hiding the status bar at all times?

Thanks, I'll check out GMD. In the meantime, is there a setting somewhere to revert back to the no-statusbar UI?

Are you looking for a setting to switch back to the original tw launcher or for use in the nova launcher? To set touch whizz as the default launcher just go to nova settings and it's the first option, select touch whizz, switch the screen of and use the twisting arm wake gesture to select home. If you're looking at changing the nova settings it might be an idea to reflash null and not check full ui in the aroma options. I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for though. It's a bit late here and I'm a bit frazzled

I'm in the TouchWiz launcher / shell, which is nice. No issue there. My problem is I two-finger tapped or double-tapped the screen to try gestures, and the status bar appeared at the top, showing the battery %, time, Bluetooth icon, etc. I now have no way to make this status bar disappear at the top. For example, I see it when I'm in Settings, or in the root browser, or any custom app.
It seems the two-finger tap toggled it on, but there is no way to toggle it off. Where is the setting to turn it off?

That's not the two finger toggle. The two finger toggle on stock or null without full system ui is a shortcut to brightness/volume and battery screen. Sounds like you've selected full system ui in the aroma settings. I can't see any options to switch off the status bar in apps. You can turn it off on the nova launcher with nova settings but that doesn't apply to apps. You can try flashing the Rom again and uncheck the full status ui and see if the status bar is still present in third party apps or you can download another third party app to control things like the status bar in apps. There's a list of third party apps you could use in the help sticky null_/free falling theme..... It's under notifications icons/soft buttons
HI
Is there an app that shows ONLY percentage of battery without any other notification elswhere? (no lock screen bar etc)
What's wrong with the standard battery percentage inside of the battery icon (like on every other android phone)? You can't enable it through settings (thanks Motorola...) but you can download an app called battery percent enabler to enable it. After it's enabled you can uninstall the app and it will stick.

Pull down the notification bar to where you see the Quick Settings. Long press the settings (gear) icon until it spins, then let go. Now you can access the System UI tuner which lets you add the battery percent in the icon without downloading that app. Only works on Marshmallow.
Xposed & Gravity Box has this, if you're rooted. I prefer this look myself.
Try "Akku-Prozentanzeige" from "Kroegerama". I cant post links so you have to search yourself

The text is too small to be readable, but still, pretty awesome. Thanks!
I use battery widget reborn and have done for many years, there is a free one to try before buying it, give it a try think you will like it
I created this app as test code that I plan to integrate with my primary system info app (Sys-I) in the future. Not sure if it is what you are looking for exactly, but it's small and light.
Not a lot of features, it was just a test, but it functions.

GSAM Pro (paid version) and a theme can do this... Nice big numbers and with some tweaking you overlay the stock icon to cover it with big numbers.

Hi guys I found this cool app on the Google play store by James Fenn it allows you to modify the status bar without root it might not work flawlessly but it does this is job this does not work in the lockscreen and live/scrolling wallpaper screenshots below
FEATURES
Center Clock option
Carrier Name
Battery Percentage display
Headphone Indicator
Minimal battery usage I tested it
Material design works in most application
Custom color adjustment for applications
Quote from James Fenn Below
"The actual status bar is only hidden under the replacement; touch gestures are not overridden, and the standard notification panel is still shown. It needs a lot of permissions in order to obtain the information needed to display in the status bar."
Permissions:
- Accessibility Service: used to attempt to get the status bar color of the current app if the 'status bar coloring' preference is enabled.
- Notification Access: used to get the icons of the current notifications.
- System Alert Window, System Overlay Window: used to draw the status bar above all other apps.
- Battery Stats: used to find if the battery is charging and what percent it is at.
- Network State, Phone State: gets the type and connection of the phone network, and if airplane mode is enabled.
- Wifi State: finds if wifi is enabled and how good the connection is.
- Bluetooth: find if bluetooth is enabled & connected or not.
- Location Services: finds if GPS is enabled.
- Alarm: find if an alarm is set.
This app is and will remain ad-free and with no "pay to unlock this feature" popups. All I ask is that you provide some feedback about what I can do to improve your experience with this app.
Current Issues
Heads-up notifications dismiss keyboard
Yep.
Resize LinearLayouts for multiple icons
Since the LinearLayouts currently only take up half of the status bar (or half the status bar minus half the width of the center layout, if there are any centered icons), it is possible for them to run out of space and get cut off on small screens. A warning for this would probably be a good idea...
Backup SharedPreferences to file
Does what it says. It would be a pretty useful option, but a bit impractical where updates are concerned.
Data and signal icons are shown incorrectly
They usually (I've had a few occurrences where they do actually work properly) refuse to disappear when airplane mode is enabled or when wifi is turned off. No clue why.
Needs support for dual sim phones
I've created an IconData class for it [here](https://github.com/TheAndroidMaster...s/status/data/icon/DualNetworkIconData.java), but it doesn't seem to be working properly.
Notifications don't dismiss properly below android 4.3
Notification listener api isn't available, listens for notifications through the AccessibilityService but cannot detect when they are dismissed - temporary solution: remove all icons when the notification panel is opened.

yep i contacted the dev about that hopefully he finds a way to implement it
Some issues I have experienced:
- the bar displays the homescreen wallpaper on some apps. On main apps like Settings, Phone, Messenger etc. the app colour displays properly but on many third party apps the background colour is messed up
- does not work on the lock screen
I have uninstalled it for now

Wait for bootloader unlock and custom ROM.
Only way to do it right now is to download an app that displays it in the left corner.
just to add to that , the 3G or 4G symbol is always displaying EVEN with the data turned OFF...
in the case that the phone is indeed using Mobile Data there are small arrow indicators that show Mobile usage.
app for everything that you need. This is something which bothers me coming from MIUI and its available customisation options. Ability to record calls from the dialler all the way to something trivial like Battery% in status bar.

Battery Percentage can be set to be displayed either while on charge or always.
That can be set within the system ui tuner, and that can be activated by holding down the gear symbol (settings) on the pull down menu.
Then in the settings menu you should see the system ui options.

Have you disabled any animations in developers options? If so, you have to turn them on again to make it work.

I used systemui tuner.
*edit* I only hide the navbar, I leave status bar. The only thing i've noticed however is that it won't work with stock launcher. Using any other launcher it will hide. I guess we will have to wait until developers update their apps to work with samsung. Same thing happened on my essential phone. had to wait till devs fixed the screen resolution cause of the notch.

I also used System UI Tuner but in immersive mode there is only a black bar on top.
I didn't find a way for full immersive mode yet.

this makes your device full immersive mode permanent.
Full Time - Immersive Mode
(Permanently hide status and nav bar, restart device afterwards)
Code:
adb shell settings put global policy_control immersive.status=*

Immersive manager
Good day.
I use immersive manager (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ivianuu.immersivemodemanager), because it has 2 modes, 'global immersive' and 'per app immersive'. So i can choose which apps use immersive mode.
It can be activated through ADB with a PC.

it could be a stupid sugestion, but i saw a review video that the owner removes that black bar in an settings option .

Having same issue with bar across the top. I have full immersive on Nova launcher but not on any apps.

Go to Settings/Display/Full Screen Apps and change the setting for the offending apps to Full Screen (default is auto). If that doesn't work, then perhaps the apps that are giving the issue don't support it.
I have all of my apps set to full screen and none of them are full screen... I have even used the adb command and all it does is remove the status bar info but I am still stuck with the bar.

I understand that. All of my apps are set to full screen not auto. If you look at the screen shot that is what Chrome looks like in full screen mode.

I've done this of course but I'm looking for a browser that goes full screen.
This setting works for youtube and the home but not for all apps (like chrome or samsung internet browser) where the black bar unfortunately is still there.

Not sure what you have going on, then. The version of chrome that came on the phone is working fine for me in immersive mode. Granted, all that it does is color the top of the screen with the color theme of whatever site I'm on. But, it's definitely not putting a black bar there. So far the apps I've tried, and work: Chrome, Yahoo, Discord, Sync. You sure you don't have "hide front camera" option enabled in the full screen settings?
You are right the bar changes color with the color theme of the website. But i'm looking for a way to remove it. I've tried in settings and with immersive manager via adb and I didn't succeed at the moment.

For me, both the nav/status bar hide when I am in immersive mode. I used Immersive mode manager and it worked fine. Right now just using Button Mapper by Flar2 to map the bixby button to it.
That looks like you are in gesture mode, not immersive mode. I actually prefer gesture mode. Swiping up just to get the bar is a pain.
Does anyone know a method to remove the tinting from the status bar? Making it the same colour as the app headers or even transparent with the background?
