I've been the owner of 2 ZUK Z1 during 1 month, running Cyanogen 12. Problems with Network connection, GPS and hands free through Bluetooth. since I usemy phone with dual Sim for work&personal, I need it working 100%. Because of those issues, I flashed CM13 ( not working after flashing gapps) and finally resurrection Remix ROM. It didn't solve the Bluetooth problem and battery drains quite fast and phone is too warm. I even flashed last update (June 18th) but heat and battery problem still the same(only solved rooting use with June 16th version)
I came from a Jiayu S3 and I've just confirmed I didn't take a good decision buying those ZUK Z1. I'll have to look for aHuawei or Xiaomi mobile phone or is anybody happy with ZUK Z1? running which ROM?
Thank you for your help
If a rom isn't working for you it's not directly the Roms fault... I believe it's yours
Using nuclear and I'm totally happy. But none of those cm13 based Roms will fulfill your needs because dual sim functionality isn't fully implemented.
I have never had any of those problems in 6 months of using my ZUK, maybe you just got a bad one. Did you try contacting your seller for replacement?
I have mine since October and so far it works pretty well. I have a sot of 5 hours and still have enough energy left to easily reach the end of the day. GPS works fine for me I use it every week. No overheating issues so far although the phone can get really hot if the sun shines directly on it for a longer period but no problems when I use it or when it's in my pocket.
The only things that I dislike is the wide of the phone it's just to big for me (I have small hands). The camera is not that great with low light conditions, and still no marshmallow update, that's it
Love it despite its weaknesses
I ordered my Zuk Z1 back in October 2015. I use my phone with a professional sim in addition to my personal one which handles the 4G connection (note: both sim cards cannot offer data/4G). I have been running CyanogenOS exclusively because of Good Technology (incompatible with rooted devices). I do not concur with your opinion: COS 12.1-YOG4PAS9IG is rather mature. The network connectivity issues you are facing may be due to the lack of LTE band 20 (800MHz) support. I do not face any severe issues. I would certainly appreciate if it switched from 3G+ back to 4G faster than it does. WiFi 2.4 and 5.0Ghz perfectly work without any drop. GPS does work too, though it may take time to synchronize on rare instances. Bluetooth audio (streaming music to headphones, speakers) works perfectly although I cannot comment for the hand-free function (microphone) which I refuse to use for safety reasons. Battery runtimes are really great if you are not maxing out the brightness level. In my experience, battery drains are not linked with COS but third-party apps. I did not identify any heating issues : temperature is reasonable. Software support is great (about one update every two months) although people complain about COS13/Marshmallow being unavailable (June 2016). Annoying bugs (e.g. broken screen rotation) have been phased out quite quickly. I am really happy with this phone.
Good: nice runtimes (a full day) thank to the 4100mAh battery, the SD801 CPU is fast enough for my use, 3gb of RAM and 64gb storage are generous enough, decent 1080p screen but not best in class (compared with Amoled or Sony Triluminos), CyanogenOS is rather nice compared with stock 5.1.1
Bad: camera is mediocre, hardware button are not properly located and cannot be reversed (I disabled them by enabling the on-screen navigation bar), the fingertip reader sometimes fails to recognize your tips (fairly rare but worth mentioning), no sdcard reader.
Ugly: lack of LTE band 20 (800MHz) support
I'm trying again with my Z1. After original COS (GPS and Bluetooth issue), I tryed last Resurrection ROM (overheating and battery drain), I'm trying Cyanogrnmod. I had some issues with it when flashing Google apps (ARM - 6.0 - nano) and I got continuously error messages from google apps. I did wipe data/Dalvik after installing ROM and GApps but I always got this problem. I flashed everything again and it finally worked ( I don't know if anybody else is experiencing the same). Now running CM13 I will need a few days to evaluate it. For the time being no Overheating/battery drain problem at all. I still have to check deeply GPS/Bluetooth and rest of things. It seems it works properly...
If it fails finally (I hope not...) I will try nuclear ROM as adviced by some colleagues.
I'll keep you posted.
Thank you for your support
You need to understand that battery drain is caused by 3rd apps. Install PowerPRO and set home/work/outside modes. When i don't play any game then my zuk keeps alive for 2-3 days easy

Just flash gapps immediately after cm13 before restarting
Does cm13 have double tap to wake??
No. It's there in the settings. But it doesn't work
does aroma gapps work with cm13 snapshot?
download Naptime from app store
nuclear rom is pretty nice and battery friendly
Alright guys, I spent a whole night researching and reading all the comments and discussions in a lot of threads related to Lenovo K3 Note and I just registered myself. Now, I want to install a custom rom and I found that the roms build by daniel_hk are the most reliable. But the thing is I'm not sure which one to install. LineageOS or SlimRoms or CarbonROM?
Please let me know which one is the best regarding Battery Back up, Ram and least lag ?
Also please post some significant Screen Shots of each roms Home, Menu, Settings, Notification Bar, etc.
So that I can see which one looks better for my taste.
And lastly please post all the fixes available and the best karnel.
I'm sure everyone in the K3 Note community will be helped through this thread.
Also I'm a total noob in this department so please ignore any of my idiocy as I don't know everything.
Thank you very much.
As far as I'm concerned, there are no stable Android 7.1 ROMs for this device yet. They all suffer from a serious flaw in one way or another - either video recording not working properly, video playback not working properly, poor battery life, misconfigured buttons or just random glitches and bugs that shouldn't happen, even after flashing fixes. I tried both Carbon ROM and LineageOS but I had to return to stock. Then again, the Stock ROM has poor memory management so it lags a lot. It's a shame, I've probably tried around 15 ROMs and the only one that was moderately stable was AOSP Vibe 6.0 which was a remixed china dev ROM but that has problems with internal storage glitches which causes all the userdata to be moved to another folder randomly (don't ask me why this happens, I really don't know but it is frustrating and happened twice, had to move all my files over again).
If you know of a fully stable AOSP ROM, even if it is 6.0, I'd be very keen to try it.

Thanks for the helpful information, but I know k3 note is yet to receive a fully stable custom rom. Knowing that I still want to install a custom rom by daniel_hk cause firstly the stock rom is very laggy and I cannot work with it and to my knowledge those three roms has received almost all the necessary and essential fixes already. for example the YouTube zoom thingy and the snapchat thingy got fixed I heard and many others. I think I can live with minor bugs like gps navigation not being able to be correct and **** like that. That's why I'm asking which one should I go with between these three.
Fair enough, but the ROMs from daniel_hk, whilst good, are definitely still in beta. YouTube zoom isn't fully fixed even if you flash the patch. If you go from 1080p to 720p, or 720p to 480p, you will get a zoom bug. 1080p videos recorded on the device do not play back in the gallery app or MX player, and the flashlight turns off by itself if you turn the screen off. Otherwise performance is good.
Edit: Carbon ROM is the only one with the latest fixes so I'd go for that.

So does Carbon Rom gives the best battery back up and uses the least Ram ?

Probably not, but it's still pretty good

In the previous build of lineage, the hotspot issue still has not fixed. I've to configure hotspot fresh everytime if I want to connect it to my PC or other device otherwise it just shows connecting and never connects. Is there any specific fix for that?

Not at the moment. And there are still issues with video playback, flashlight and camera video focus.
Lineage OS 14.1 is the one I've been happiest with. There are niggles and glitches, with battery being the biggest. On the whole I accept it's still work in progress. Stick to stock if you need stability.

It depends on what you want, no custom nougat ROM has it all....
Having tested it all, I use Resurrection Remix 5.8.2 with March 5 security update.
Battery life is about 30 - 45 minutes less than Daniel's Rom but the smoothes of the performance is better.
#1 It has super fast charging (2180Mah)
#2 GPS locks in few seconds.
#3 Hotspot works once you on it off it and on it again.
#4 YouTube works perfectly
#5 Video recording does not crash at all, with or without flashlight. Footej camera works perfectly which is a plus for me, whatsapp, Facebook, Instagram, periscope works well with the camera.
#6 it works perfectly with three different custom kernels I've tried on it. (I currently use the latest Daniel_hk kernel with voltage tuning & OC)
It serves me well and since I have 2 spare batteries I don't bother however, tweaking the kernel to powersave gives me more juice.
So, it depends on what is a deal breaker for you.
I've used 2 AOSP Nougat that are very good but since all AOSP Nougat Audio recording level is low, which is a deal breaker for me, I switched to LineageOS before hitting RR Nougat.
FYI Footej Camera only works because it records in 720p by default. 1080p recording is the problem.
By the way - I got fed up with bugs so I created my own debloated VibeUI ROW ROM with a nexus feel - so far it seems to work well and no signs of lag so far. I think the lag isn't caused by the core ROM, but the add-ons that Lenovo insist on adding. If there are no major issues I'll upload it by the end of the week

So if you needed to compare between LineageOS and RR Nougat, which one would be better in terms of smooth user experience and which one do you think has the lowest issues?
Also I do really need the most battery backup I can get.

Both are the same core but RR has a little more customization and faster charging.
LineageOS by Daniel has the best battery backup time in CM based Roms. I've achieved 5hrs SOT with one AOSP nougat. It has low audio recording that's why I didn't continue.
You can achieve faster charging on Daniel's Rom with ultimate or Vince kernel. But it comes with dt2w and takes extra juice from the battery.
You should try flashing different Rom and check it out for yourself

Hdr has been fixed but with another hotspot bug replacing it
Did you face hotspot bug in RR 5.8.2?? Mugiks ?? Can you confirm? :/
MI A2 Android One updates are near the end, and recently they don´t really fix nothing, only put more bugs.
Since upgraded to Android 10 i lost Stock camera, and have a really heavy battery drain. I read that sometimes doble factory reset can fix that problems, but i will loose GCam, and with The Dice mod i really have no problems with photos.
With Factory reset i loose Gcam, and the guide i use when i enable camera2api in android 9, i think don´t work. I like my MI a2 because have good photos and don´t want to loose that, so i thinking to move to a custom Rom, and i has hoping some of you guys that tried manny ROM´s give me a hand with that and recommend the best Rom with this features:
1- Fair battery drain.
2-Use of Gcam ( camera2api enable) and Stock camera working ( i see that there are a mod version of stock cam that work in costum Rom´s).
3- Good Wi-fi transfer rate
Regards
Go for Pixel Experience plus Fan Edition. It is best rom i hv used.
The question of the best rom often comes up. There is no "best" rom, it depends on the user but also on the updates. Pixel for example is bad for me in drums, but very good for others. Derpfest had a rotten update and the last one is excellent, I'm using it right now by the way. The best advice is to try several roms and choose the one that suits you best. After if tomorrow there is an update you may have to change.
Hello everybody, i am glad i write my first post here.
I don't want to bore u, so i get straight to the point.
I have a Xiaomi Mi 9 M1902F1G with Miui Eu 12.0.2 (QFAEUXM) and i have a very low ScreenOnTime, i installed miui Eu variant 3 days ago, and i can t get more than 4 hrs SOT.
The thing is, i changed my display because i broke the digitizer( some liquid went inside ) and since then my battery is rubbish, to be more exact before changing the display i got like 5-7 hrs SOT on miui Global.
I want u guys to keep in mind that i first changed miui global to crdroid because i thought it was a soft problem, the screen still did not respond like it would before so i paid more than 120 euros to change the display with another original one( at least that is what they told me, they also told me that they order the display based on IMEI ) and now is working is it should, but i seem to belive this one is more....blackish, i mean don t get me wrong, it seems greater than before, the colors are more sharp( or maybe i think so bcs when he was at the repair shop i used a IPS screen )
Raysteff66 , the admin for crdroid told me that i installed his soft wrong, i told him i had Global MIUI not Eu, so after a week of using crdroid( witch was very good too, except battery life ) i installed Miui Eu, and the battery is the same.
The question is: What can i do? Is the screen not original or did i do somethink wrong? I installed the softs with Fastboot and unlocked with miflash.
I hope someone can help me, i ran out of ideas.
Thx so much in advance and i hope all of u are well.
I now remembered that my phone was heating up very badly when i used crdroid, i don t have this problem on miui, also i remembered that now the battery drops very fast when i use my BT headphones, did not do that when i installed miui eu variant ( first day )
there are news about Miui 13's bugs ? (on Redmi Note 10 Pro)
Have Redmi note 10 pro stuck on Miui 12.5, but i think flash it in Miui 13.
I wanted to know what bugs are left in Miui 13, and what is gained (or lost).
Because apparently Miui is known for its many bugs. (And even 12.5...)
In terms of overall performance, in games; what are the gains?
If there are benchmarks on big games like Genshin Impact between these two versions
Thanks in advance and sorry for the translator :/
-Flickering in apps such as discord and youtube
-Sometimes the notification panel when pulled down is completely transparent
Also some users have faced systemui error and camera brick after updating so be careful.
an old bug, that no one at Xiaomi tries to fix:
In SystemUI (latest Xiaomi.EU MIUI 13.0.12 and lower) are 2 methods of do not disturb (DND) integrated. at least DND can not be deactivated and activates itself by fault. that is annoying and a long known bug without fix or workaround.
Dual-SIM management doesnt work proper. Taking SIM-cards online /offline is buggy and works like try and error.
Found screenflickering in youtube and google app in low light conditions from time to time
But all in all, the jump from 12.5 to 13.0 is worth! dont postpone it much longer.

I will look for update it. And how do you feel about the overall performance ? do the games run better ?
The overall performance is better. Games run the same as before since a software update doesnt improve your hardware. Slight better since I used gamemode. Never have had hardware issues in PUBG or other FPS. Never tested Genshin or else. Sorry
The front camera just died and no sound is coming through Bluetooth devices after the update. You better not update it .

That has been happening lately and it can even happen on miui 12.5 or even aosp rom not guranteed that it won't thanks to xiaomi for that.
