Hello, I have connected my smartphone to the original Samsung charger. Suddenly there have been noises in the USB connection. It has smelt burnt. Now quickcharge and OTG does not function any more.
Data transmission and slow charging works.
I have changed the ROM many times. But it does not helped. Sorry for my broke english. I'm German.

I'm not an electronics expert, but "it smelt burnt" is usually not a good sign. I think the hardware was damaged and I would not recommend to use the device anymore as a possible short circuit can cause a fire.
You can send it in to Samsung for warranty repair. If you don't have it longer than 6 months, it should be easy. Where did you get it from?

I have same issue. My otg keeps connecting and disconnecting. I tried to connect my device with pc. it is only charging and not recognising my device. only cable charging is working. I have not rooted my phone and i always use Samsung orignal cable and otg connector. it seems it all started after update. do you have FD model ?
I have the same problem i can only charge my N950F with wireless charge and the micro usb adapter. I can't connect with my PC it doesn't recognise my phone. The charge is slow with micro usb adapter more than 5 hours to charge at 100%. I've tried to install many rom but the problem is always here. What can i do please?
Try to uninstall the Samsung USB driver and reinstall them again

Yes i've tried but nothing. It doesn't work. Also with debug usb not work.
Hello can you help me please? For me it's a big problem
@prodaz
With your information's nobody can help you right.
Maybe you are still on Nougat bootloader but on oreo Rom. Maybe vice versa already on oreo bootloader but on nougat Rom.
You use the original charger and USB cable? Have you tried a different charger and/or cable?
Maybe best way is, flash latest stock rom and test it again. If then all is ok, it was a software issue. If it isn't, maybe your USB port is damaged or Dirty
Gesendet von meinem SM-N950F mit Tapatalk
I've tried all these solution, an other usb cable, flash the latest stock rom, clean the usb port, try with an other cable. My usb port is not damage because it charge with the usb adapter but is slow.
When i put the usb on my pc a message prompt that it doesn't recognise the device. reinstall driver does nothing.
Thank you Logel for your help.
@prodaz i had same problem and it was related to hardware. i advice you to go to service center.
Ok thank you i will send the phone to service center.

Hello all,
so, this is driving me nuts. I have two HTC microUSB cables that I've been using with my old phone that for some reason don't seem to work at all with the new xperia T. I can only charge it and connect it using the stock sony cable or the (very long) cable that came with my Kindle. I tried with 3 different wall chargers (Sony, LG and generic wall outlet splitter with USB): all of them charge the phone using Sony and Kindle cable, none using the HTC cables. Anyone has any idea WTF is happening?
Thanks!
Based on my friend's experience, HTC tends to make cables that work only for their device. I'm not 100% sure.
Humans have evolved to be smarter, but there's one thing we can't get rid off. It's human stupidity.

I think there are different versions of the cable, if you take a close look at the end which goes into your phone you may be able to count a different number of connections....

Well, both cables used to charge also my LG p500 without any issue. I'd be more inclined to say that the fault is on Sony's side as of now.

I envy you very much indeed.
So, to sum it up, it can't be anything to do with the phone itself, but it seems to be some kind of incompatibility between the USB plug and socket. This is kinda crappy. Last thing I want is to buy yet another cable. Haven't they decided to use the same standard to avoid this kind of crap???
Thnaks to all of you btw!
Just use the cable that came with the phone for PC connection and the other ones for charging...
They don't work either way. It's like they don't even connect. Point is I don't understand why. It's just a cable. Anyway, thanks for all the input.

Some cables are manufactured not to work with most phones. Just like how we can't use our plug (for the wall socket) to charge an Apple device.

My previous experience doesn't seem to comply with what you just said. I've been exchanging chargers and cables between 1 LG phone, 1 HTC phone and an iPhone 4, and all the combinations work. The problem has arisen with the new Xperia T. I'll go to a Sony center and see what they have to say about it.
Cheers!
The t/x/v have faster higher rated chargers so some old ones don't work, I can't use old 2011 Line charger or moto charger but can use an earlier v8 charger...
If you look closely at the cable there are parts that click into place, if the cable your trying hasn't got these it won't work

As I said, no matter how weak the charger is, I always get power with the sony and Amazon cable, and none with htc ones. It is really annoying. The cables don't seem to have any major physical differences.

Guys, having a problem with the battery port ( I think)
As soon as i plug the wall charger in to the port the phone shows that it is charging but it actually doesn't charge. This happens only with the wall charger.
Tried Reflashing ROM and everything software related.
On Sweetrom v10.5 with Philz.
It works fine via USB charging ( From Computer).
I changed my charger too but same problem happens.
It started when i plugged the phone to a charger of Xolo Q1000 (3rd Party) and that too in a Made In China Extension Board. :/
Hi there
Its a problem with the charger not the USB cable.

You might have a bad USB port on your phone,
If you do then this goes to show don't use 3rd party chargers and extensions, you could have shorted it out.
Best thing to do I would think is to try and get a replacement charging module.

:/
I mean could have probably shorted out the port?
If it is shorted then how does it charge with the USB?
:/
And btw I can use the Phone as a media or storage device too and can acess all files and everything.

Have you tried flashing any other ROMs to make sure it's not a bug?
Some roms can be pretty weird with a few bugs but I'd say it's worth a shot.

Hey everyone,
I recieved a new LeEco Le 2 yesterday. It is Le X526 Indian version. The charging cable has normal USB on one end and USB C on the other. There is no response when I plug the charger. It is not charging. I tried by switching it off and same result.
The adaptor is working as I could charge another device using it. There is no way for me to check the cable since I don't have any other USB C device. Now if has only about 10% left. I have switched it off and kept for charging. What should I do now? Any suggestions please...

Gonna do that. I bought it from Flipkart for an offer price. Hopefully, it can be replaced.
Update : My father has got it to charge by adjusting the USB C end. Definitely something wrong with either the cable or the USB port on the phone. He noticed something weird too. He was able to connect the normal USB end of the cable on the adaptor both ways. Is it also reversible? Anyway, I am gonna leave it untouched till it charges fully and do more inspections later.

I am a little confused now. Now it is working most of the times. Even when it does not, I can adjust it a little bit and it works. In effect, I can get it to work everytime. I am wondering whether the problem is with the cable somehow. Does nobody else have this problem? Is it really worth the hassle of replacement? Somebody please confirm..

There may be some kind of insulator covering one of the contact pins. IF YOU SAY IT WORKS, PLUG AND PLAY, then no need to return. IF YOU FEEL SOME INCONVENIENCE AND HAVE TO KEEP THE CABLE OF PHONE IN CERTAIN POSITION FOR IT TO CHARGE, JUST RETURN IT. MOST PROBABLY, THE FLIPKART GUY BRINGS A REPLACEMENT PHONE WHEN HE COMES TO PICK THE PHONE ITSELF.
Yes replace it.
Why you are taking loss just replace it.
Replace Phone
Thanks everyone for your valuable suggestions. I have requested for a replacement. But the flipkart customer service is not making it easy. First they wanted me to reset the phone even though this is a hardware issue. Then they wanted me to install SmartChk app to verify the problem. But after that, now they want me to verify whether the problem is with the charger or the phone. When I told them that I have no USB C cables, they want me now to go to some shop and check this. Without doing that they won't proceed.
Update : Everything is fine. I went to a Leeco service centre and found out the issue was with the cable. I found out that if there is any issue with the phone, it would take around a month to repair it. They didn't even have cables in stock. Surely, flipkart will deliver faster. Flipkart gave me 2 options. They would either give me ₹200 with which I can buy a new cable or they will replace everything. I went with replacement. No quality cable can be bought for that price and I don't want to take any risks with USB C cables right now. Hopefully, replacement has no issues.
My Le 2 is not charging. When I connect it to charger, it shows that it is charging but the battery percentage is not increasing. I don't have any other device to check if the problem is with my type-C cable or not. Any help will be appreciated.

This is ultimately a fault of the USB-C design. Look in the port and you will see it has a thin piece of plastic inside of it. This slides into the charger and has contacts on it. If that little piece of plastic gets cracked/bent/broken, the port is toast. Yes, your octa core, 32 GB 5.5" HD display device can be rendered useless by the cracking of a tiny piece of plastic bending.
This is why Micro USB is the superior connector, all the contacts are mounted to the interior of the port that is secured to the device. Yet another example of the tech industry replacing something in existence with something worse just o sell you new cables and adapters.
My Le 2 x520 is not charging. When I connect it to charger, it shows that it is charging but the battery percentage is not increasing. I don't have any other device to check if the problem is with my type-C cable or not.

Good day.
Recently i migrated from an Samsung Galaxy S8 to an Xperia XZ1 compact. One of the few things that i missed from that stupid phone is the wireless charging.
With XZ1C now i am concerned with the constant wear of the usb port when charging and connecting to the PC.
So i am thinking in buying and Magnetic Type-C Adapter. (see atachment)
I already bought a cheap one for another phone but, when connecting to the pc, had too many disconections.
Has anyone tryed and could make me a sujestion for a good one?
Thank you.
very cool. i didn't know that existed. i'd be interested in those as well
I had one of those.
They stick out too much from the phone, so I got rid of it shortly after.

That is a good question. .
In my Galaxy S8 i bought one from other seller, just out of curiosity, and it supported.
In the meantime, I bought 2 different adapters in ebay to try. When it arrives (in about 20 days) i'll post here my results.

Yes, as long as they support data.
Be really careful with magnetic charger. I am in China and bought one from Taobao. Connected it to my PC USB port, connected to phone and it turned off instantly, only Volume down+Power buttons combination make it start again. Hope this fckng thing didn't break anything in my phone. All tests (including battery) in *#*#Service#*#* come up alright.
It seems that it is OK to use magnetic cable, as long as you are not connecting your phone to front USB panel or USB hub. Just use Mother board USB and it considerably safe.
I've been using the NETDOT GEN 10 magnetic charging cables for the last half of a year. So far I have had no problems with it, and it is also reversible which is a plus.
I am using them on my headphones and watch too.
One thing to be aware of us that is that the plug that goes into the phone is not flush with the body and stands out about 1-2mm and leaves a bit of a gap.
Hi,
I' ve a weird problem about charging. 2 days ago, i plugged the charger and saw the red light. When i woke up, the phone completely gone. I tried to charge several adaptors but none of them worked.
Then, i plugged the laptop via usb, phone starts to charging. I can charge my phone only this way.
Do you have any idea about this problem ?
I do not want to send guarantee, because i don't trust them, they always says this was a user fault vs.
At the end, if powerbank charge my phone, i will buy a one which fast charger to solve the problem.
I finally charged my phone via unnamed traveller charging adaptor. But i can not charge with original Samsung charging adaptor. Do you any idea about this ???
Same adaptor works s8, doesn't work note 8.

He just said he tried numerous Adapters and I would assume cables.... So It may be a charging port problem.... Or the Converse of his procedures he used different Adapters but same cable leading me to the cable being Suspect... Either way It doesn't feel like its a phone issue...
If you have tried using different cable and different Official Samsung Adaptive Fast Chargers. Then there is some wrong with your device. You would have to get it repaired however seeing as you have already rooted it. You would have to take it to a 3rd party repair specialist and let them take a look at it.

Yes, that's pretty much what I said. I don't think it's the phone either. He didn't say anything about different cables, so I'm assuming it's the same cable. I still think it's the Samsung adaptor that's the problem.

Then you need to get another Samsung Adaptive Fast Charger as yours is broken and needs replaced. This sort thing happens quite easily with chargers as they generate allot of heat to convert the power to your device to charge it.
