WiFi Issues - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

After the update to open beta 27, WiFi isn't working properly at all. The signal strength has weakened idk like it shows the network but isn't connecting and even when it gets connected, it doesn't browse or like the Internet doesn't work/resolves and then it keeps on disconnecting. Most of the time it isn't connecting and just says disabled or just doesn't do anything. Been using mobile sim data which is working perfectly.
I tried wiping cache, dalvik cache but it didn't work. Also tried wiping system and reflashing OB27 but all in vain.

Same issue with my 3t after updating it to ob27. Don't know about you but I'm facing wifi issues from last 3 updates. Tried different roms but the issue still there. Hope someone could help

[Q] Data connection issue

Sometimes I am loosing data signal, I haven't figured out when it happens. It appears to be random. Suddenly I have no data signal and I can't get it back until I reboot the Note. Anyone have been through it?Anyone solved it?
Thanks a lot!
I just got my note yesterday and noticed i get booted off wifi after maybe a couple of mins; I also haven't been albe to use data from my carrier for some odd reason. Is this also what you are facing? Does anyone know if I messed up somewhere in the settings or is my note defective?

I can use data from my carrier, but it suddenly gets stopped and the data signal icon dissapears. As I get internet connection sometimes, the APN settings are right, but I don't know what could be...Maybe some app?But I don't use any JuiceDefender-like app! Also my wife uses the same carrier on a SGS2 with the same APN settings and she's got no issue at all.
My wifi issues have mysteriously stopped the same way it started and I found out it was my APN setting that caused the data issue so thank God this is done. Have you attempted factory reset outrun86?

Good for you! Congratulations! I've done several factory resets and installed few roms and the issue stills. BUT yesterday I did a manual search and set of my carrier's net and I have no issues so far...
EDIT: I have Rocket Rom v7 and CSC=AMN

[Q]Wifi keeps getting disconnected after upgrade to Android 5.0.2

Both my phone and my wife's phone encountered the same problem.
I therefore do not think it is an individual thing.
It never happened before until we upgraded the system to the latest lollipop.
Any suggestion how to fix this?
Cheers!

Do a reset (obviously), if that doesn't work, run a software repair on Sony PC Companion.

Do the advice, back up your files first. I'm running on stock Lollipop and Wi-Fi is working perfectly.

I had similar problem, my phone had a little problem with authentication and regular disconnecting from wifi. I tried many things like hard reset, software update, router software update etc. even I came back from Marshmallow to Lollipop for a while, but nothing helped me. The solution turned out to be channel in my router. I changed it to 3 after that to 13 - but my phone works only with default channels like 6 or 8. After change my wifi get back to life and now work perfectly. Try it in your case
Channel - This field determines which operating frequency will be used. It is not necessary to change the wireless channel unless you notice interference problems with another nearby access point.

Best answer I've got about this issue. My home router is on channel 6 and the Wifi is really stable. The two work routers that I have access are on Channel 3 and 11 T_T

Wifi and Bluetooth stopped working under Android

Dear Community,
I would like to call for your kind help because I have got completely lost considering an issue that I have faced. Suddenly the wifi and bluetooth stopped working under Android on my tablet. Everything is factory standard, I haven't modified anything and even applied factory reset from the Android menu and hard reset from recovery mode. No change.
Networks are visible but it stops with the message "Connecting" and if I set a fixed IP, it connects but no data is transmitted. In case of bluetooth, I'm unable to enable it.
It is a strange issue because it works OK under Windows 10 that gets all the regular updates. I started to experiment with old wifi and bluetooth drivers to see if there was any conflict with drivers but I didn't manage to learn anything by that.
I am completely confused because I have had this tablet for a year and it suddenly started to have this problem. I thought the reset would solve it and was stunned to see that it didn't.
Would you please kind and try to help me out with some advice?
Any feedback would be much appreciated!
Kind regards,
Viktor

Another WI-FI issue

As I've already read, SD 835 phones including this one suffer Wi-Fi drops and disconnects. My particular issue is that even though the device is connected to wifi either speed seems to slow down a lot or internet simply doesn't work, I can tap whatever I want in Chrome and the loading bar below the address bar fills in a millisecond and disappears. Happens on different routers, router configuration reset doesn't help nor does device reset. Was the issue already addressed by any update or should I wait?

It is, however most people complain about disconnects making them restart the phone. In my case wifi is still connected, but it sometimes seems to stop working while still being connected and wifi relaunch fixes the issue.. 145 fw didn't solve it, so I guess we should wait.

No idea, but if people stating it's Snapdragon 835 issue are right , US version should also be affected. I'd rather ask an owner though.

As I recall there was a wifi lag problem with the first couple of builds, but I've had no issues with wifi since November. So perhaps it was fixed in a firmware update?

I've updated to .145 a few days ago (branded rom) and wifi connection seems to have improved, no more hangs. It might be different router in use, so I'll confirm when I'm back home so that I test in on the device I've had problems with.

I returned mine and ordered the US version to see what's what. Should be present there too but one can hope... don't want to give up on the phone but if I encounter it there too then I'll have to go for another model. I'll report back whatever I'll find.
Have a similar wifi problem using (US) firmware .145. A restart fixes it, but eventually the problem resurfaces again. May wait to update until firmware following .179 is available, as I've read that in some cases .179 makes the problem worse. (?)

I did this. Problem was still present on US phone as some predicted. Returned that phone as well.
I'm using CE1 .145 firmware and it started to do that problem a week ago. I have never experienced that before that time. I have to restart my phone at least twice a day and it appears even I'm not connected to any wifi router.
I'll see when update will come. It's horrible.

I'm not experiencing the Wi-Fi disconnect very often, fortunately, but it makes the problem more difficult to diagnose. Odd that some people experience it regularly, even several times a day.

For me it happened several times in a couple of minutes time. I'm on a college campus though, a lot of wifi hotspots around because of the university's wifi network, I think that made it worse.

Several days ago, my xperia also sufering wifi issues. The wifi is disabled by my device.
I have done so much attempts to solve it until I got this:
Connect the device to the PC and open ADB Fastboot. Then, conduct this codes:
adb shell
settings put global captive_portal_detection_enabled 0
That's all. My wifi work again.
I hope that will work on you.
Code:
adb shell
settings put global captive_portal_detection_enabled 0
This worked for me. Thank you

OnePlus 3T GPS Issue with Mobile Data and Location both "On"

My OnePlus 3T is running Build Number ONEPLUS A3000_28_180915. Android Version 8.0.0.
The issue is that my phone's GPS is working when Location is on and works with or without WiFi when I have Waze open.
But, once I use my Mobile Data + Location = my GPS now becomes intermittent especially in Waze. It keeps on connecting and disconnecting for some reason. I also have tried having my Location at High Accuracy and Device Only and the problem still exists.
I have already tried using GPS Status and Toolbox, Cleared my Cache, re-installed my OS and I still have the same result. Up to now, I have not yet been able to resolve this. I hope someone can help me with this issue.
Thank you.
I (along with a number of others) had a problem with GPS on a much older stock OOS build, around October 2017. This was a problem with the ROM having outdated aGPS data.
Not sure if that is similar to your issue. I didn't have any problems after that one build. There is a newer build than the one you are on (181206). So you might try to update, and see if that helps.

Thanks for this! I'll try updating to that this weekend if I have the time and I'll give an update here.
I honestly don't want to give up on this phone just yet even if it's already a number of generations late already.

I tried flashing the latest ROM from OnePlus for my Device and I even did a Restore Factory Settings and it still does not work. Would you have any other idea what could possibly be causing this? Thank you.
