[GUIDE] [DEBLOAT] Remove stock apps WITHOUT ROOT - Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 Guides, News, & Discussio

Asus Zenfone has stock android without bloatware .. why this thread is created ??
Agreed that we have near stock android and most of the apps can be disabled in settings.
But with the method mentioned below, app will never wake up to consume battery and will be uninstalled for current user.
Also ADB is way faster than individually selecting and disabling apps.
You need to enable USB debugging and have ADB setup. (Refer https://www.xda-developers.com/quickly-install-adb/ is you are new to these things.)
Now once you have device connected via USB, run adb devices command to see if your device is connected via ADB.

Now copy and run the commands from below list for the app which you want to remove.
This will remove apps for current user and will return in case of factory reset. So if you mess something up, do factory reset to get out of trouble.

No issues in OTA, this is basically removing apps for current user.
We are not tampering the system in any way

Can you please tell me why there are 4 different codes for Facebook? What each one exactly does? Also do we need to reboot the phone to see the changes?

No reboot needed. You can see the changes in drawer & under All apps.
Facebook app description is added in OP.
You have main Facebook app, fb messenger, app manager and app installer.
The manager and installer is just companion apps to update facebook app .. read more here.

Worked perfectly, removed facebook, instagram, play movies, duo and go to pay.

Thanks OP,
Btw, can we enable Camera2 API (persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1) with any adb command like this?
Want to install Gcam Without Root.
Thanks & Best Regard

adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 id.co.babe #BaBe - Baca Berita
Give it a go.
If the command fails then no alteration to system so we are safe to give it a try.

Debloating the t590 stock rom

For those that want to slim down what's running on your 590 stock rom, this is a starter list I just created.
It's by no means comprehensive, let's hope people can add to it and we'll eventually have a good list people can use if they desire.
Please note, you are doing this at your own risk, meaning some packages, once removed, may affect the device such that it can't be booted! Then the only solution is to restore to factory defaults. So don't just go willy nilly uninstalling things without any idea what they do!
So the first thing I did was run:
Code:
adb shell pm list packages -f
This will list all packages and their associated file. There are additional options which show only disabled or enabled etc. But this gave me all I needed.
This next command will uninstall the package for user "0", since most of us only have one user with the device, it's all we need. Keep in mind, the package is still on the drive (taking up space), but it's not installed, so there won't be any notices about updating it etc.
Code:
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.android.chrome
The above will (obviously) remove the chrome browser, which is something I always do, and install lineage Jelly browser. Just my preference - it's much more minimalist and I rarely use a browser on a tablet anyway.
** IF ** you do uninstall something and later want it back, one option (other than factory reset) would be the 'Solid Explorer' on the playstore, it can look at 'root' and reinstall packages.
Lastly, be sure to understand, I'm not telling anyone to do anything, you do any of this at your own risk. Don't blame me if you uninstall a package and then later it messes up your system. I'm merely suggesting this is something you can do, if you want to take on the risk.
That said, this is a list of packages I uninstalled using a linux bash script. My device booted properly afterwards and all is behaving normally, also I think it cut my installed apps almost in half! When I did the update to the latest security patch it optimized 66 apps! That's way too much for a minimalist like me, I don't need anywhere near that many apps installed.
Here's the list, again, use at your own risk;

Never mind, I used Saki_EU's Xiaomi ADB/Fastboot Tools and uninstalled many apps already. No problem, more free RAM now!

These are quick instructions on how to remove some of the Redmi NOTE 7 and Redmi Note 7 Pro Bloatware. Root is NOT NEEDED and a UNLOCKED bootloader is NOT NEEDED to accomplish this. If there are anymore packages that are safe to remove that need to be added to the list just post a reply on this thread and i will add it to the list
Please keep this strictly REDMI NOTE 7 and REDMI NOTE 7 Pro orientated only.
1) install fastboot and adb on your PC
fastboot download: (https://www.xda-developers.com/google-releases-separate-adb-and-fastboot-binary-downloads/)
fastboot/adb installation/usage instructios: https://www.xda-developers.com/install-adb-windows-macos-linux/
2) once you have adb running and working with your device run the following commands to remove the desired packages.
Code:
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.apps.tachyon # Google Duo
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.music # Google Music
adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.google.android.videos # Play Movies

May I request for another code for these apps? Mi pay and Mi credit?
Hi, followed the instructions.
Phone immediately got stuck in boot loop to redmi recovery 3.0 screen. Rebooting repeats process.
There is a "Connect with MiAssistant option", but this application does not recognize the phone. In the forum for the app some people say that the english version will not connect with newer versions of android (as in the redmi note 7)
So I kind of just lost my phone now, rather than improved it.. Not sure what to do now, I did not want to get into unlocking the bootloader and flashing roms as I'm not comfortable with that and really don't trust it to actually work.
Any advice would appreciated, thanks.

i doubt it was any of those packages that have you stuck in a boot loop as they are non system apk's. however if you want to restore your phone back to OEM, just grab the OFFICIAL MI TOOLS from XIAOMI and flash the latest firmware. https://xiaomifirmware.com/roms/miui-roms-for-xiaomi-redmi-note-7-lavender/

No way to update phone.

So when i first got my phone, I wanted to stop auto updates, and basically found a .bat file that would remove that from my phone. now, years later i would like to update my phone but dont know where to start to get that option back. When i click system updates in settings it does nothing.
anyone know of a fix to reinstall the update function back to the phone?
verizon carrier btw.
EDIT-
So I looked up the .bat file I used. it was the Samsung_Security+OTA_Disabler_(BillA_v2018-01-01), inside the bat

Have you tried flashing the stock firmware with Odin on PC?
If not just download the firmware you are on or the latest firmware using samfirm.exe or frija on pc and use Odin to flash phone. (Read up on the firmwares if you want root or not, read safestrap and Extreme Syndicate root threads before flashing firmware. )
You should have access to Download mode or use samsung smart switch.
@Adamfoxhound
It seems this is what you need to enable "adb shell pm uninstall -k --user 0 com.sec.android.fwupgrade"
In the thread below, nearer the bottom, it tells you how to enable disabled packages. As this ADB method does not actually uninstall the app, you should be able to re-enable it.

Remove Bloatware Without Root and Maintain OTA Updates

Just purchased this phone recently and was surprised with all the bloat and how quickly the battery drains on moderate usage even though it is equipped with a large battery. Lineageos has me spoiled on my old device with minimal apps that aren't always running in the background slowing down my device and I wanted the same for my new Galaxy Note 10 Lite.
Credit for this thread goes to Chris Titus Tech, a Youtuber who published a video titled "Speed Up any Android Phone or Tablet" and talks about the android tool ADB. You must see that video first and then come back to this thread. It really works. My phone is indeed faster, battery lasts longer and I was able to recover approx 3GB of space. While his video was done with a rooted phone....you can still use ADB without root and the best part is OTA STILL WORKS as I just received Samsungs November 2020 Security Updates. I don't feel the need to root my phone and the device now runs so smooth.
While the video was helpful...it didn't explain which apps can be uninstalled for my specific device. I then searched XDA Samsung forums and came across a list of packages that are installed on our phones that can safely be uninstalled from the user. It really feels more zippy so I am sharing my findings with you guys and will update the list below if I come across more bloat. I left Knox and Bixby alone and just wanted to focus on apps that are not used by me. AGAIN, if you want to do this then you have to watch the youtube video mentioned above. Follow the steps he lays out to setup everything.
I do not use these apps and removing them does nothing bad to your phone! If you use these apps...dont uninstall! Below is what I uninstalled and disabled and the commands that I used for this specific phone.
Here we go...
Open up terminal and type "adb devices" and hit enter.
Now copy and paste the commands below for the apps you do not want.

P Smart 2019 Debloat

P Smart 2019 - Debloating guide
This is my personal debloating choice for my P Smart 2019, I probably get around 20-30 minutes more battery life and a bit less ram usage but nothing significant.
This phone is still held back by its 3GB RAM.
If your phone has strange lag after updates I'd recommend downgrading to EMUI 9.1 through adb (you will lose your data), and then manually update with the full packages from HiSuite till 10.0.0.265 - latest as of writing this. For some weird reason my phone lagged when updating through OTA.
These package names have been pulled thanks to the guides found over at:
[GUIDE] List of bloatware on EMUI safe to remove
Hi all, i was working on a guide on the vast amount of packages that we find already installed on EMUI by default and safe to remove because i'm sure that it would be useful for users like me, users that doesn't like to have space occupied on...

I am not responsible for breaking your phones or data loss, this works on my phone but it might not work on yours.
DO NOT DELETE com.huawei.android.launcher OR YOU WILL LOSE RECENTS (there are no alternate recents in EMUI 10, you can delete it in EMUI 9.1)
Make sure to install these apps before running debloat:
Code:
Google Dialer
Alternate Browser, I use Brave
Google Photos app - if you delete gallery3d camera app won't open pics you'd have to manually enter through Google Photos
Gboard
Shuttle 2.0 - or any other music player
Youtube Vanced - since it deletes Youtube too
Google Calendar
Google Clock
Google Files
Google Fit - I deleted Huawei Health, fit works just fine but there isn't a step counter on the lockscreen
Sound Recorder app - I don't use one
Radio app - don't use this one either
If you need to bring back a package that you uninstalled use
Code:
adb shell cmd package install-existing <package_name_here>
Here is the full list of things I personally removed, you can find the description of the stuff in the links above
Code:
