Dark Theme Possible? - Nokia 7 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi, I really want to buy a Nokia 7 Plus but hate that ugly white UI that stock android has. Has anyone been able to apply a dark theme using andromeda, substratum? Please let me know your thoughts and experiences. Without the possibility of a dark theme I might have to skip this awesome phone

Therefore, he did not want the link here the name. Is it in the Play Store.
[Substratum] Sai's Oreo Theme
Here is a loan topic that works very well. I have problems with all the others on multiple devices but not with this one. Nevertheless, just try a few times. Andromeda and substratum work very well. I did not have any problems yet.

Thanks a lot for the information, you've been really helpful. If you don't mind, would you tell me about the sound quality via headphone jack? I like listening to my music loud, did you feel like the audio output of this phone was loud enough?

Yeah, the audio output is loud (but I don't listen to music at a high volume, I usually keep the slider around halfway), and the quality, too, is great. By the way, Andromeda + Substratum with the Swift Black theme works perfectly with no hiccups.
Here are some screenshots for you.
Hope these screenshots help someone looking if it works with the Nokia 7 plus or not.

Guys, he's asking about SYSTEM-WIDE DARK THEME .. like the one in resurrection Remix or OnePlus phones .... Sadly, I too have been waiting for such theme

Use substrantum and andromeda to change the system wide theme.

In Pie you can set dark or light theme at Settings

You're right; Andromeda doesn't work with Pie. You will need to root the device to use substratum.

This is in beta; so expect bugs

Swift Black not supported for stock rooted Pie (just PIxel or Oxygen).
Xposed modules not supported for Pie, no UI change possible with GravityBox or whatsoever
Setting 'dark' theme in Android Pie still gives you a headache-type light design overall.

Yeah much better. Now Gmail and Astro File Manager are usable again. They had black background before. Nice job! Go on! Can you change icons of wifi etc?
Little review after using for some minutes
Nice theme but still needs some more changed images. E.g. the notification drawer looks a bit odd with the black notifications on grey bg. Also the bottom bar should get white instead of blue when dragging down. Also dislike the black calendar, (which crashes btw everytime about 3sec after launch) but that's just me.
Apart from that, it seems like a really solid base for an awesome theme! Just try to get the Android look fully away for the Metro look. At the time
it is a mashup of both. I would gladly buy it for some bucks if it gets better and better.
Cheers

Thanks for the feedback. I also thought of leaving the calendar white, like in my WP7 Revolution theme for CM9, but I know that most of the users like battery saving themes. For now I'll focus on the dark version since it is the hardest.

There aren't really themes specific to the phone. Themes are specific to the theme format that you're using, and which theme format you're using will depend on which ROM you're using. There are two formats: Layers and CMTE (CyanogenMod Theme Engine). The stock ROM uses Layers, many custom ROMs use Layers also, and many other custom ROMs use CMTE. So you need to figure out which engine you're using and then find themes to suit it on the Play Store.

I think you worded that a bit weird. All themes are going to have bugs, it's just that layers has some things it can't reach. You'll run into black on black text here and there with layers, but white UI is perfectly fine.

that's why i said "dark theme" I tried every black/dark theme with Layers and could not get a good match on everything. Mixing themes was cumbersome as well. End of the day I just installed Swift Dark on CMTE and everything works great so far.

The biggest advantage that Layers has is that it's less resource heavy whereas Cyanogenmod themes everything. I always felt like Cyanogenmod installed things super fast too.

Cmte does not theme everything. They both can do things the other can't. It's preference at this point. Cmte is more on the fly, in that way it is better, but layers is coming soon with that ability. But that's about the only real advantage along with system icons and boot animations included in the theme. Again, layers will have the capability soon also. I prefer layers over cmte all day. That's why I theme in layers instead. Person preference ...

You can just download this app from the Play Store HERE and create your own dark theme. I posted an example of the one I made HERE where I themed notifications, keyboard, etc. You can check the OP of that thread too for more information about the app.

Yes Andromeda is required and costs. The one I suggested above does not (unless you want to theme some very small, particular, things) and allows you to customize everything yourself easily, including most of your apps. Plus, with Substratum, on Oreo, you have to run ADB commands on your computer to get it to work. With the Theme Galaxy app you just make your theme, install it, then apply it like a normal theme in Samsung themes. Also, the regular Samsung themes in the theme store do not usually theme notifications and many other areas of the system ui like the theme apps do.
