VTR-L09 only boots to eRecovery and fastboot - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

Hi, my phone is currently stuck booting to erecovery and I can also get to fastboot, however it will not load android as normal. My bootloader is locked and the phone is unrooted. Does anyone know how I may be able to fix the problem? The device is a Huawei P10 VTR-L09 on EE in the UK.
Thanks
Edit: Can get my phone fixed through my network provider, thanks anyway

same problem, and over the past weeks i've been reading a lot about this issue.
in my case happened with an OTA update, now i have a brick....
and because i've never set usb debuggin or oem unlock, im unable to unlock the bootloader via fastboot, so no flashing full stock android to revive it :/

What does it do if you turn it off, then plug in a computer-connected usb cable whilst holding vol-down?

The phone enters "Fastboot and Rescue mode" but when I follow the instructions shown on screen, HiSuite says the device is not supported and to take it to a Huawei repair centre

Use firmware finder for pc and push an update via DNS, follow the instructions.
With that you will be able to update with eRecovery.

for me this doesn't work... the main problem that i have is that my phone doesn't boot (i can go to fastboot), but the phone didn't have usb debugging option enabled, nor OEM unlock ticked and the bootloader is locked... so from fastboot i can't do nothing

Just a question : Why do you have unlocked your bootloader? So many people unlock it for nothing, i'm sure i can do nearly same things with a locked bootloader, also with an unlocked bootloader you can't use PCC and SUS. Also unlocking bootloader avoid your warranty.

Ok you got the point, you need an unlocked bootloader for a custom kernel.
So have you tried to restore it with PCC/SUS or Flashtool and retry? Maybe something haven't worked correctly the first time.
Do you have followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2153261 ?
This is after flashing the unlock token?
Can you power on the phone normally?
Are there any signs of life (LED indicator, screen backlight, vibration, etc.)?

I didn't flash anything the first time . i just unlocked the bootloader , i think the its a driver problem .when i plug it in in fastboot it says 'waiting for device' .the phone still works perfectly btw.
more info : Kernel 10.1.A.1.350 there's an update to .253 but I haven't installed it yet

I can't tell exactly by your comments, but are you aware you need to start the phone in a different mode to access it via fastboot?
Disconnect USB
Hold Power & Volume Up until the phone vibrates three times in quick succession.
Let go of the buttons.
While holding Volume Up, connect USB cable between phone and computer.
The LED should turn blue to indicate you are in fastboot mode at which point you will need to install fastboot (not ADB) drivers. It shouldn't be possible to install ADB drivers if you do this properly.

bricked my Mi5

Hello!
Was using 7.2.8.0 ROM out of box.
Tried to update to developer 6.5.19 but something went wrong. Now only fastboot/recovery works. Can't do fastboot oem edl - tells me it should be unlocked. Same problem with fastboot flash system - tells me device is locked. Me PC Suite doesnt recognize device at all. Tried on my laptop and PC. Help please.
any1?
Are you logged into your Mi Account on the phone? If yes I guess you have to wait for bootloader unlock and then flash rom with fastboot.
I logged in last time my phone worked.
The unlock procedure uses my phone and it cannot start so I will be unable to unlock it since only fastboot and recovery modes are available.
any other suggestions?
apply for the bootloader unlock code with your mi account (use other phone while you fix the xiaomi), wait for the unlock approval sms code, its tooks like 7 to 15 days, then download the software for the unlock bootloader process, loggin with your approved mi account, put your phone in fastboot mode, connect it to the pc press start and thats all (no need to boot in normal mode for unlock), you should have your bootloader unlocked and you will be able to enter in EDL mode and flash again the rom.
P.D. Sorry for my bad english

That's pretty much exactly what I wrote in my post XD
Have you try to flash using MiFlash?
You can download it from here
My friend also encounter this problem and what he did is:
1. Use a fresh installed notebook with Win 7
2. Use MiFlash to flash the image file.
Image file can be downloaded from here.
It should works with locked bootloader as you are flashing the stock image.
Please give it a try.
Any luck alien2k1?
I'm in the same boat, bricked Mi 5, can access bootloader and TWRP recovery, but can't turn phone on because of bootloop. I want to use Mi PC Suite to flash the fastboot rom. But, when my phone is in Fastboot mode, and I connect it to the computer with the micro USB, it says "Try connect in normal mode first then switch" . But my phone is stuck in a bootloop and I can't "connect in normal mode first." It can't detect my phone in Fastboot mode, and it can't detect my phone in "normal mode" because I can't turn the phone on in normal mode because it gets stuck in a bootloop.
My bootloader is unlocked.
I can't open MiFlash either and I can't turn on USB debugging on the phone because its stuck in a bootloop. What should I do?

If you're on unlocked bootloader and can access fastboot, why don't you use the fastboot packages? There's a script provided by them in the fastboot downloads to flash everything

I am in the same ****in situation, have you solved your issue ?
thanks
Looks like everyone is in the same boat here. I have tried several methods but the Redmi Note4 wont work. Mi PCSUIT wouldnt detect my phone either. Fastboot wont work with the message "Try connect in normal mode and then switch." I am wonder what is the sure and final solution to this problem. The issue is flashing all over the internet but no specific solutions yet.
If you have any working solution, please share. Thanks

thankful, you open my eyes!

Big problem! boot loop, just not as usual. Can't access adb or fastboot!!

Device: Huawei P9 Lite | VNS-L21
Bootloader unlocked
Hey there, i need help immediately i have no idea what to do right now... :/ pls
Today i installed TWRP recovery on my phone and then LineageOS completely/successfully!
After that i made all settings, usb-debugging enabled, adb worked fine.
Then i went to the twrp recovery again and installed the gapps (google apps) for my device, and it was the right version and right architecture, i checked it twice.(it worked before on revolution rom)
After that my device restarted.
Now it keeps boot looping after staying in the "sim unlock" from LineageOS screen for ~1 second.
Important info:
Usually you can fix this issue with adb/fastboot
Problem: My device doesn´t come up in the console. It doesnt get detected but windows does a connection sound.
HiSuite pops up but says, there is no device connected, but it recognises that there is a huawei phone plugged in.
Next Problem: I cant acces fastboot without adb and i cannot acces twrp recovery, only huawei eRecovery, which is pretty useless...
So i dont really know how to fix this. Pls sbdy help me.
Greetings, Kami.
does it let you type in the sim unlock message?
You can actually access fastboot mode by (with phone powered off) pressing Vol-Down and plugging in your USB cable.
From there you can flash TWRP and enter adb.

Relock your phone again. Flash now the stock recovery. Then it's alright.
i think you didnt understand what im saying bro. i unroot and relocked already after relocking my phone got stock in eRecovery and i cant get out even unlocking again etc. still im stock
To complete your initial operation, you need the recovery. From your description, I see you had TWRP before. That will not do. Flashing in the bootloader you can only unlock with OEM. So, relock, recovery flash and then lock again.

My English is also not better. I understand you. Have you ever tried the device with key combi in the recovery to start, without usb cable? Separated from pc and charger?

how sir? i dont get what you mean... can you please show me a tutorial?
So I wrote it in my root tutorial:
Button combinations:
Fastboot Mode: Vol.- and Power with PC connection
Recovery: Vol. + and Power without PC connection
eRecovery: Vol. + and Power with PC connection
All system reboots always without PC connection.
Without PC connection means that the cable from the PRA is separated, only from the PC is not sufficient.

With the PC program "DC Phönix" you can save it again. Unfortunately I do not know about it. Google knows more.

Bricked device (seeking advice)

Hi there,
This is for EVA-L09.
How this came about:
I was relocking my bootloader when it failed(fastboot changed to locked though) however, continued onto reboot anyway. It didnt reach the EMUI lowlevel wipe stage
Device info:
EVA-L09
Nougat
C432 B391 (If I remember correctly)
FRP unlocked
bootloader ???
phone functionality:
whenever it turns on I just get huawei logo regardless of key combos
seemingly unable to fastboot
Unable to force update (Vol +&- & Power)
Unable to recovery mode
I was wondering if anyone has had a similar situation or any insight how to fix this.
Most solutions I've found require fastboot but once my device starts charging the logo appears then only restarting by holding power is available.
I expect the cause to be the issue relocking the bootloader.
thanks for any insight.
Edit/Notes: I have sucessfully unbricked this device before via the dload method however unable to. (rollback to 4.1EMUI and 6.0 then changed to C432 B168 and upgraded from there)
I do have a DC Pheonix account on standby if I ever can fastboot

As you say, you cannot go to Fastboot even by power off, Vol- and connecting USB?
It doesn't help now but when you were relocking (btw why, but you may had your reasons for), did you have clean stock without root and TWRP (since relocking ininitates full reset)?
TG, I never used DC Phoenix but maybe you can unbrick by Method 3 (seems, it does not rely on Fastboot?):
https://www.dc-unlocker.com/DC-Phoenix-flash-repair-tutorial
sometimes people do mistake trying to boot in fastboot while are not conected to pc, connect phone and pc with usb, then try to force restart holding power more than 30 sec together with vol -. If cable are not connected, you never will boot in fastboot and find a way to test if your usb cable working properly!! i bought one non-huawei cable, it was new, but with that cable i wasnt able to boot in fastboot, duno why, so there need to be original cable for this! (maybe i bought foulty cable, duno , with non-huawi cable i can easy charge, transfer data to pc, but when tried to use adb comands, sometime it worked, sometime not, but with original cable got no problems at all)
Thank you for both of your comments. I have now successfully recovered via DC-Phoenix.
I was just getting unlucky with holding down the Vol - key it seems as I eventually got into fastboot which then allowed DC-PHOENIX to solve the problem.
The Huawei wire which I bought is third party and I have noticed connection dropping which may have caused me to not enter fastboot as it had unconnected(but not visibly). This happens during normal system boot as well when I'm trying to use MTP.
