Whenever I open my display settings > Wallpaper, i get this weird black edges. Is this normal or is it an issue? Just got my unit earlier.

Just try, mine perfectly normal. I think your unit might have a problem.

I realized that I have the same issue on my phone just earlier. It appeared to me since I updated my phone to the latest version of Emui so its not a phone's issue.

Since it's not a phone's issue I'll wait for a future update to get it fixed. I think that it won't be a problem. There's nothing else that we can do.
I'm wondering if you try a different Theme if that makes any difference?
I changed mine to dark theme, so my settings are in a black background, thought it'd help battery as this is a oled display.

Hi,
I had this issue too and found, that changing my base theme in the Huawei-Designs solved this issue for me.
After changing the theme I changed the backgrounds and Icons back to what I wanted.
Seems, that there are some themes out there, which show this weird behaviour.
Kind Regards

I have a problem .. some times when i switch on the screen everything changes to very small even the navigation bar icons .. its like the resolution changes and everything will be small .. ill.post a screenshot when it happens again .. a workaround i go to screen resolution and change from hd to fhd then back to hd and the wallpaper , icons, settings and text comes back to normal size.
Help is appreciated
Same issue here with a Mate 10 Po. I set the UI to "small" and UI (navbar and buttons bar) sometimes become huge but this is the only part of the UI that seems to be affected. Quite strange and annoying …
EDIT : "intelligent resolution" is not activated.
Are you guys having the latest firmware update?

I don't have that issue on my Mate 10. Non pro.
Same here
I got the same issue any update about it??
Happend to my mate 10 pro in the end of 2018...
No updates available...
Is there a solution?
I got the 8.0.0 update (Jan 1 security patch)
With this update there are some small UI changes are driving me nuts. Some notable ones:
-I have to swipe up/down to answer/reject a phone call (previously was right/left)
-Grid for the pull down configuration menu is now 2x3, used to be 3x3
-Ring/Media volume bars switched places
-The number pad on the dialer covers the whole screen, hiding the mute and speaker buttons
Does anyone know- is there a motorolla skin on this I can uninstall that will revert this changes? I haven't found anything. it's so annoying.
You are correct, UI under nougat was better
It didn't "mess up" anything...it's all UI changes. If it's absolutely unusable, there are many guides here to flash the older firmware onto this device. Or there is always alternative apps for the dialer that I'm sure you can use in place of the stock one.

I've seen some oreo pics that reflect a UI that is different from what I see on my x4. for example, the drop down configuration menu is still 3x3 https://cdn57.androidauthority.net/...ttings-android-8.0-oreo-review-5-1340x754.jpg
So I'm thinking motorolla has something installed which is causing these oddities. And if there is, I'm trying to figure out how to remove it. Or maybe there is a config somewhere I just haven't found yet.
Here's mine, looks about the right *shrug*

I think it's the case with regular variant of Moto X4 and not android one variant.

does it still have font size and display size customization?
Why did it messed up? I've only found a bit disorientating the new settings menu. Other than that everything looks fine to me. Also the toggles grid is still 3x3 on mine but I thing is due to the fact that I have the UI and text scaling on the lowest setting. Try making the UI as small as possible and make the text bigger just a notch. I think you'll get back the 3x3 quick toggles grid. I'm on the Moto edition, not the Project Fi or Amazon edition.
I just got my Mi 9 yesterday.
I'm on the latest global MIUI version 10.2.13.0.
I went to the camera settings > custom water mark.
I changed it to something like "Mine's phone", but after taking the photo, it still shows "AI Triple Camera".
I asked my local facebook forums about it, and their Mi9 had a "save" button when changing the custom watermark.
Mine had no save button.
Same issue on my device by same MiUI version.
Seems like it's a bug and I think It will be fixed in next update.:good:

Weird bug, others who have the same MIUI version (same phone of course) don't have that issue.
I tried changing my region to India, and still not working.

I fixed it. Just press on the top right corner of the screen on the custom watermark setting.
There is a checkmark there, but its hidden (bug).

Good thing Xiaomi fixed this fast.
Stock V40 on Verizon got updated yesterday. Security patch, some minor system tweaks. Version 30c. I'm not exactly a fan of the green accents, but I guess I'll get used to 'em. I wish there was some way to customize the color. Oh well.

This update screw up my proximity sensor and delay when screen is off wake up from finger print sometimes work and doesn't work is random I didn't have none this problem with 30b update, and I did factory reset still there. You can change the colors under setting - display-accent color

Nope, no glitches here, luckily. Outside the accent color defaulting to green, all else is good.

This is giving me a headache. The screen keeps flickering slightly has anyone got this issue? I'm currently on miui 12.5.19.0 global stable. I don't have the issue on 60Hz and I know the obvious solution is to switch to 60 but 60Hz for me is so slow and laggy. I've tried every possible fix including a factory reset
I've found the issue but don't know how to solve. I decided turn on show refresh rate in developer options and it for a split second it's scaling down to 60Hz which is causing the screen flickers. Is this a software issue?
It's automatically turning down refresh rate to save battery, it isn't a software issue. Just turn on anti flickering and stick with 60hz if your eyes are sensitive to flickering.
It's definitely an issue with xiaomi. I didn't see any flickers with my previous s21 ultra or 13 Pro max. It's an issue that Xiaomi definitely need to fix. I can't use 60Hz I'm to used to 120.
mine also flashes
How annoying is it? Definitely an issue Xiaomi need to fix

I confirm it works, but it makes the colors washed out. so i found a trick:
1. After change color scheme to "default", download MIUI Hidden Settings on play store: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ceyhan.sets
2. Open the app, tap on "Qcolor" and change to "standart"
Edit: after a while this setting gets reseted

Megerősítem, hogy működik, de a színek kimosódnak. hát találtam egy trükköt:
1. A színséma „alapértelmezettre” módosítása után töltse le a MIUI Hidden Settings alkalmazást a Play Áruházból: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ceyhan.sets
2. Nyissa meg az alkalmazást, érintse meg a „Qcolor” elemet, és váltson „standard”-ra

Have you try to force 4x MSAA and disable HW overlays in devs option?
