new to note 8, was updating but did not update to Oreo? - Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Questions and Answers

new to note 8, was updating but did not update to Oreo, I think it was a Spanish version or something, but updates came, just not the oreo. Will it come thru the phone or will I have to manually do it since it is not a US unclocked version? Its a SM-950F with nmf26x.n950fxxu3brb5
Thank you.

It should come through OTA, but if it didn't you can always do it manually with Odin. You can find the latest release for your device on Sammobile, and download there or through SamFirm.

No more update higher than EVA-L19C432B386?

Hello,
Huawei stop to build any new update for EVA-L19C432?
There is no more update from so long time, security patch of Android is so old from April 26 and also the Android version is so old (7.0).
This model has been drop and will not get anymore any update? They stop to update and prepare Oreo version for this model or was forget? Have someone some more information or some new firmware update unlisted on Firmware Finder?
Thanks

Count yourself fortunate, I cannot even get Nougat 7 on my EVA-L29C636. Seriously though, almost all flagship android devices will get, at most, 2 major updates. The P9 was shipped with M and most (not me) have N now. That will probably be the last.

You have Nougat for your version in Firmware Finder, have u tried upgrade manually?
U can also check in HiCare app if u have a update.
Sent from my LON-L29 using XDA Labs
stuck on the same version, firmware finder does not show anything newer either.
Never buying this trash company again and already telling all my friends to do the same.
Was able to install EVA-L09C432B391 with FF DNS method on my dual sim EVA-L19C432B386.
However device shows still old build number, but security patch level is Sep. 2017 and moments is available in camera app
I have managed to update to C391 on L19 but it shows C386 as before. I believe there is another small pack we need to install to show the actual firmware.
388 available for L19, it's the same as 391(L09)

Would you like to elaborate?
Did you flash the oeminfo partition before? I've tried mostly what I've thought about, but can't flash B390 onto my P9 dual sim. Same fw. EVA-L19C432B386.
Thank you.
I was able to flash C391 on my L19 using firmware finder and proxy method. It did not work in my case using DNS method. I did not flash oem partition, just the full 2Gb OTA, straight up.
I get unauthorized every time.

I assume you are Romanian and you own a dual sim L19C432.
I now see that even L19C432B390 appeared few days ago in firmware finder, but nothing in regular hisuite/settings update - still on L19C432B386 officially

L19C432B388 is the last approved firmware.
B390 is not yet being approved to masses, only to test users.
Proof:
I am not getting even 388 though - through regular Huawei/settings update still nothing. Only see it in FF.

Force flash it using FF.
I installed EVA-L19C185B395 on my brother's p9 yesterday via firmware finder and everything was running super smooth.

Two months ago when I shortly experimented by debranding L09 to L19 last OTA update for L19 was also b386 for me
Nevertheless, you can update to later unapproved builds by HWOTA method

From my personal experience... You probably have re-branded EVA-L19C432. Original still receives an update, however, if you have re-branded (as mine.My original EVA-AL10) it all stoped at EVA-L19C432B386.
and even if you try to install higher update via SDCARD it will fail.
You can try to download partition table for EVA-L19 and flash it on you phone using dc-unlocker Phenix52 software, then fix your IMEI with HCU Clinet , then you will be able to flash updates manualy higher the 386 but it cause issues with calls and reception on your cell phone..
Cheers,

Nobody can...
The problem is you cannot flash anything higher then EVA-L19C432B386 on re-branded phone.. Unless you have some magic or DC Phenix creators team creates full image from latest firmware...
Issue solved. I re brand to eva-l29c636 and all works as it should. All updates installed until aug 2018...

Pie update has been rolled out and you'll get it within this week as it is rolled in batches. But if you want to try it right now. Just install the beta version.

I don't think you can just download the beta and use it, want there a limited number of entries for beta

Did someone try flashing the Android 9.0 images?

Hello everyone!
I heard about the pie beta in Germany, but sadly i don't live in Germany, so i can't join the beta program. But i found the 9.0 images on the huawei firmware database site (https://pro-teammt.ru/firmware-database/?firmware_model=VTR-L09&firmware_page=0), and i'm planning to flash the images, but i don't know if they work.
So my question is, did someone try flashing the android 9.0 images?
You need to rebrand to the correct version first. And maybe you need to be on the right firmware version, but I don't know which version is the right one, it should be between B367 and B381.
The Pie versions on FF are for Latin America / Argentina, so maybe the cell frequencies are different to your region and you can't use your version.
There's also no known way to downgrade to Oreo at the moment, if you didn't install the official beta.
So, wait until Pie is released for your region and flash it manually to be safe. It's possible to brick your phone very easily by flashing the wrong version.

P20 Pro Stuck on EMUI 8.1.0

Hi all,
How is everyone on EMUI 9/10? Im in the US and I bought the phone on Amazon (International version. CLT-L29) 2 years ago and never got any updates. There is an app i need for work but my android version is too old for it. Ive tried checking for updates on HISuite but no luck. Rooting is not an option
Have you tried Mi Suite and check for update from there? Or try to use older firmware and downgrade, and then upgrade from misuite.
Yap, try HiSuite. If that does not work, you can either pay for a software update in an official Huawei service center or you can download the latest update with Firmware Finder.
i tried hisuite. it says im on the latest version
how do i use firmware finder?

If you have the 636 regional variant, that is why. I have to flash all of my updates manually because Huawei really has really crapped the bed on this one.

My buddy had this problem too. He had to go to the service, and at first they just blinked there. It was finally resolved after almost 3 hours of waiting.
