Since the release notes for the 8.1 update have been put up on motorola's website (https://support.motorola.com/us/en/solution/ms129979) it must mean that the ota has started rolling out to some models/regions. Did anyone get the update notification/ota yet?
No

Has the 5.1 update been pushed out to phones yet? I know we can manually download and install but it seems like this update is taking longer than usual to be sent out to phones for those of us too lazy to manually update.

If you already took the November security update to LYZ28N, which is the November security update applied to Lollipop 5.1.1, you are already ahead of most everyone else. No one has even captured that OTA link. If you already applied the update, it is too late for you to capture it for the community. Any such link should be recorded in the reference thread in General where you have already posted.
As for an OTA link to update LYZ28N to Marshmallow, that does not exist yet as far was anyone knows. LYZ28N is the T-Mobile fork, and T-Mobile has not yet released Marshmallow.

I haven't installed the November OTA yet but I've got the message in my notification bar that it's been downloaded. Can I still "capture the link" or is it too late once it's been downloaded? If not, where can I find out how to do it?

I think you can still get the link unless you have performed the install step. (I actually have never done this myself.) The general instructions are in the OTA reference thread. If you succeed in finding the URL, you should post in in a comment on that thread.

Left tmobile ... now what
Is there a way to bring a device running the tmobile fork back around to the mainstream version of android,
I bought my device from tmobile but am currently on verizon, non of the tmobile specific features worked before OR after the move, so nothing to loose there
I checked system Updates and found new update
It is large, so seems it is not a minor update
But an upgrade to a new version.
Ladies and gentle men, marshmallow has arrived.

This time is true.
Hot 2 users started to receive android 6 update with date 7-1-2016
Many countries have seen the update by now.
Keep checking you'll receive it any time.

Sorry to be creating another Oreo thread but the ones I'm finding either aren't Sprint phones, are closed, or are months old with no replies.
Has anyone on Sprint with a note 8 gotten Oreo yet i heard the roll out would be starting in March.
Also can we expect an update to the Samsung experience version anytime soon?
Sprint forums are your friend.

That is full of way too many Oreo threads.
I think that we all will hear something about it from samsung itself first
interesting.. this thread didnt get locked.. LOL
Because it's in the q&a not everywhere else I don't mind all the oreo threads but there are more than enough in general sections
Just found this

You do have to Odin back to stock and do the OTA update from the carrier if you want to receive OTA updates
I have Nokia 8 TA-1004, and I am not getting monthly security update. so if I install manual updates. then it is possible that my phone will not get an update automatically??
I was in the same situation as you, months behind on updates and still stuck on 8.0 but my phone would say it was up to date. I flashed 8.1 OTA with June patch from here on XDA and now I get updates immediately when they're available. So in answer to your question: Yes, flashing an OTA zip should get you on an automatic update track.
UPDATE: Here's the thread I got my OTA zip from https://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-8/development/nokia-8-nb1-june-firmware-via-ota-t3798056
