Hiss/white noise from audio jack with low impendeance earspeaker, solution? - Nokia 7 Plus Questions & Answers

With my Nokia 7 Plus i have noticed the same issues of my old phone: a hiss or white noise from the audio jack when i use a low impendeance earspeaker. With my IEMs of 16 ohm i hear this annoying white noise when i listen calm music, with more high impendeance headspeaker (40 ohm) i hear the white noise but much more less.
Why also new smartphone have this freaking hardware/software problem?

Same story here... I just got my phone as a secondary phone and the white floor noise is really disturbing.

Try using a USB C to 3.5mm converter. Most users just don't have the aptitude to notice either due to hearing or inadequate hardware.
Nokia has stopped including Dolby Atmos in their phones. You could go the unlocked bootloader route to install Audio enhancements ...

Background noise when using headphones

I bought a pair of Sennheiser CX300 headphones for my HD2 and I started noticing an annoying background noise in every audio application (including games). The noise volume is constant so if the audio is below a certain level it starts becoming very noticeable. It is also strange that the noise continues for about a second even after stopping the audio. I tested the headphones with other devices and they work fine.
I wonder if anyone else has this problem with other headphones? Does this have anything to do with the impedance of the headphones (16 Ohm for the CX300)?
Hi, I also baught in-ear-headphones the day before yesterday, stood infront of the sennheiser ones you baught but took the Sony MDR-EX76LP instead.
When I tested them I didn't hear a background noise but was not really impressed by the sound.
I was used the in-ear headphones that came as headset of my Sony Ericsson W800i cellphone and they sound much better and also isolate the outer noise (much better in airplanes and so on). Also others can't hear what I'm listening to which is also nicer in the metro... Seems to be a feature for the new Sony headsets but is rather a bug for me...
So I build myself a new headset using the HTC headset with remote and mic and soldering the old sony ericsson in-ear headphones onto the remote. Works really nice... I also took pictures to write a HowTo and will upload them maybe later... Similar description...

[Q] Hissing noise in headphones?

Hey guys,
I've been using an HTC One for two weeks now, and was really looking forward to using it as a music-listening device. However, whenever I'm listening to music on a low volume setting through headphones I can hear a hissing sound that gets louder and softer as the music changes. Since then, I have tested this with another HTC One, various headphones, and have come to the conclusion that something inside the phone is causing noise. As soon as I open up the 'Music' app or any application that turns on the headphone jack, I can hear the hissing. It's very noticeable when listening to music at night in the lower volume settings. The same files I'm listening to have no noise on my blackberry or on my iPod.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.
I can only suggest you exchange for another unit. Yup... I saw that you said you had tried another One.
I came from Nexus 4. My first Nexus 4 had a defective earpiece and the same hissing noise you described from the headphone jack. Did a RMA with Google, and the second Nexus 4 had a perfect earpiece but still some hissing noise from the headphone jack. I didn't want to bother with the RMA process again so I just lived with it.
Then I got my HTC One. Sound quality is miles better than the Nexus 4 and I hear no hissing noise from the headphone jack.
While the chance is slim, it is possible to get defective unit twice in a row. The hissing noise is probably due to in proper shielding or poor wiring inside the phone.

Hi,
Try turning off beats audio and see if it still happens.

I would agree with gustav30. I have noticed this recently, but it only happens when I am toggling the beats audio on and off. I think it might have something to do with the different audio qualities depending on what type of thing you are doing i.e. streaming music, listening to downloaded music, watching YouTube, etc..
Its beats audio. Turn it off and the hissing decreases. You will always have some hissing though no matter what phone and headphones you have.
Beats lowers this hiss, but its still there.
This hiss exists for all android devices I've used and heard when using high sensitivity IEMs.
Considering going back to apple... *sigh*
Has anyone here experienced prominent crackling sound listening to music at full volume when using HTC headphones supplied with the phone ?
I tried using the same headphones on One X but no crackling sound or even on the computer.
It does dis for all the songs I play at full volume on HTC ONE. (it does reduce the crackling noise if I turn off the beats audio).
So wut do u think cud be the problem ?
The headphones, the phones hardware or the beats audio.

Hissing when playing audio through headphones.

There's a hissing/static noise whenever audio starts. If I pause it'll stop after a few seconds. Anyone know the cause of this?
I'm also interested in this. When I tried playing in my car, firstly I thought it could be software or some equalization problem. But, even deactivating all, that hiss continued so maybe it could be the quality of audio cable (quite poor).
Trying at home with a quite decent pair of earphones: Sennheiser IE8, I still can hear the hiss. It is much less hearable (suppose less amplification of sound, I've been listening music at maximum level to detect it), but also here.
I think there are only 2 possibilities: bad software/ROM implementation or defective/bad hardware. The defective hardware is rare, I've read some opinions and all say more or less the same... I expected some more quality of sound, and more if it comes from Sony...

volume via earpiece help

One thing that bother me a lot is volume via earpiece of phone during call on my nokia 8.does anyone know how to boost it ?
Your problem is opposite of mine. I have problem of static and and hissing noise with Nokia in-ear headphone making it unacceptable whenever I want to listen to the music or audiobooks. So I adjust the headphone jack, then it becomes better, not so much noise in the background, and the sound is much, much louder. The backdraw is that the volume control on the headphone doesn't work anymore, and the sound is still really loud in minimum volume.
I also try my other headphone, luckily it works fine. However, the sound is not as loud as it comes from the Nokia headphone even in the maximum volume.
