I've been getting this error "sw rev. check fail" when I try to flash the stock firmware. Any help is appreciated. Currently flashing roms through twrp seems to work but the one that I want doesn't have VoLTE support that is why I want to revert. thanks
You need to flash the most updated stock firmware in odin.

Hi, I have a GSM Samsung Galaxy S here that is running CyanogenMod.
The phone is rebooting at random and getting stuck at the skateboarding CyanDroid during boot.
It still runs sometimes and I can flash other roms through clockwork or ROMManager.
How can I restore it to a factory ROM and firmware?
When I try to use *#1234# to find what firmware it has it, it says "Connection problem or invalid MMI code." does that code only work with stock firmware?
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
ANKh
I would use Odin to reflash to a standard Samsung ROM and start again. Maybe first make a backup of all your data, because that will be lost (internal).

download the stock firmware from samfirmware.com .. then flash it using odin ..
Go back to stock (can download stock firmware's from sammobile.com) and then flash another rom it could be a problem from the rom itself
Remember to use .PIT file! and check that repartition is ticked.
Shame Heimdell can't also make an image ready for backup later too,
I'd prefer to do that than downloading from some server I've no clue where it's coming from and might do a megaupload at any point

What if I have the I9000M_JL2_JL2_JL2_JL2_UG_BMC.zip containing only the I9000UGJL2_homebinary_add_param.tar file?
Is there any need to tick the repartition option?
i think this is a PDA file and it would be ill advised to tick the repartition option.
But I just need to confirm before restoring from JB CM10
I need help with flashing stock firmware. Well, I flashed my device with some turkish firmware who had 4 files and I did that via Odin. When I realised that I have turkish firmware I downloaded stock version which consists only 1 file and tried to flash my device trough Odin (followed procedure for flashing with one file) and it wont work. All I get is endless reboot loop on my device. What should I do? Please help!

Try again with wipe data/chace and wipe dalvik cache(from advance from in CWM)
Reflesh your stock firmware.
I high recommend you to rewrite stock 2.3.4 XXXXKPI(European)or specific for you region.
Anyway more details in this thread from Sammobile
KPI version have 4 files but was by far best version for me that i've used.
Also be carefull to load corect packs for boot/csc/modem/phone:
http://fulga.u-s.ro/fotos/android/incarcare_rom_in_Odin.png
If you are european shall not care if it is Turkish or Russian, just change leanguage.
I want to reflash my phone because KIES wont upgrade stock firmware after I flashed with Odin. It says that "this device cannot upgrade over KIES". It's common problem and I heard that people were solving that with reverting original stock firmware for their country. I dont know exactly am I right but I wanna try. Thanx!
Its very buddy, you can search it on this forum. You can find it here.
I'm trying to get my phone working again by flashing the stock G900AUCU1ANCE 4.4.2 firmware with odin but it fails every time and gives me the error "SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 2 > Binary 1" while in download mode..
I was told you get this error when trying to downgrade or by flashing the wrong package.. downloading the official firmware off sammobile now..
any other suggestions on how to get my phone working again? I heard you can get it to boot by using the .pit file with odin but I cant find a .pit file for the g900a anywhere..

make sure you just choose the CSC, PA and cache to flash thru odin dont try to flash the BL that is what will cause the revision check error, you can downgrade everything boot the BL which is the boot loader, kernel etc,
Don't use the firmware from sammobile. Use the one from the threads in the general section.

I'm having the same issue.
Any help please?

Follow these steps
(it occurs to me that this is in the wrong thread so I'll be creating a new one in the right place...sorry)
Well, this is me...I'm stuck stuck stuck on Ver 6.0.1 and I really need to get back onto 4.4.4
I'm using a Verizon 900V and I made a video of the part of the process where it face-plants on me.
(Google search videos with this; "How to get Marshmallow to KitKat...???" to see what I'm talking about)
Please help?
I've downloaded the file for Lollipop (5.0) thinking that I had to step down to that before getting back to KitKat but that also yielded the same error which is this:
"SW REV CHECK FAIL : [aboot]Fused 2> Binary 1"
I have to admit, seeing the word 'Fused' kind of cheeses me a bit...dang updates....
(I *KNEW* I shouldn't have agreed to download 'em...)
Hello guys,
I have some issues with my N920C. I cannot flash my device with Odin. When I try i got every time this error < cm.bin fail> despite the firmware that I use even LL or MM. I'm only able to flash through custom recovery (TRWP).I want to back to stock firmware but it is impossible with Odin.
My original CSC was XSG and I use the stock rom in this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/note...d-rom-t3305912 . So now my CSC is TUR. Now my battery drains very fast and I noticed some lags with the phone. I tried Smart Switch as well to repair it but the phone is not take in charge.
I want to revert to stock firmware without root even LL or MM so is it possible to get a stock firmware which can be flash with custom recovery?

@pepeto99 I already tried a lot of 5.1.1 firmwares with my original CSC but I got always this Odin error < cm.bin fail >. I even tried the 6.0.1 firmware as well and the Odin error is < hidden.img >.
I'm only able to flash a zip file through custom recovery and I don't know why?

Hey there, I ran into a similar problem and my problem was the reactivation lock under settings, security, I had it turned on. I'm not sure about your case but if you do have it on.....turn it off. Good luck.
