I don't own this device, every test is made by users and changes are on demand.
It's described as TESTING, because i'm trying to port this feature from other phones, what isn't easy when i can only make limited tests!
This mod will enable your front earpiece speaker in conjunction with your the main, bottom speaker.
Requirements
Rooted and unlocked Moto X 2014
Custom ROM: Cyanogenmod, Liquid Smooth, Resurrection Remix, SlimLP
DISCLAIMER
I am not responsible to any software or hardware issue made by flashing this MOD.
Installation:
1: Download zip
2: Boot to recovery
3. Find DualSpeakerMotoX.zip and flash it.
4. Reboot!
Reporting:
-Exact model number (for example 1097XT)
-Name and build date of your ROM
-Name of zip you flashed
Reports without any of this information will be ignored

I think it's now working only on custom ROMs. Please try to flash this one for testing stock fix and report.

You should clarify this is only for cm, aosp, etc or whatever in the op.

I'm running liquid and I can't seem to tell the difference.
Edit:maybe a small difference. Is the top speaker supposed to be just as loud?

OP is updated with latest informations about testing, support for stock ROM is dropped for now, because speaker is really hardcoded there.
Also i updated download link to the newest test zip, so please download and report with all informations.
I tested it on my xt1092 with cm12. It already doesnt work. How can i help you?

Which version have you flashed earlier? Top speaker will never be as loud as bottom one, because it's not the same hardware thing, it's just for better stereo experience.
Here is test3 for you, i made earpiece extremely loud compared to last one, so i don't add it to OP yet, just to clarify is it working for you.

Not working for me. I flashed kernel then audio fix on top of rom, no avail.

Your patch fixes the call audio and speaker for the t model but the speaker doesn't play music it works half way with arter n7 port kernel call audio and speaker working for phone call but not for music or anything

As far as I am aware, yes. The audio blobs are only specific to T/W8 in general. The kernel itself is the device specific factor
I have a problem with my nexus 6 durring calls. When someone calls me, i cant hear them and they cant hear me. The speakers and mircophone are working fine.
I reseted my phone and installed a new rom. After that i have that same problem. Is there a way to fix this ? My phone is rooted and has android nougat on it.
Some AOSP 7.0 ROMs have broken call audio for VZW. Try NuttyNexus, Uberstock7, or Oct-N ROMs for working VZW call audio

Start by rebooting into Safe mode. If it works, then there is a problem with some app interfering.

Remove all audio mods like Viper4Audio, Atmos, Arise, etc.
If still broken audio, clean flash with just Nutty Nexus and Open gapps 7.0 micro or Banks Gapps 7.0, and then superuser r197 zip for root

Its working ! I did what you say and its working. Thank you very much. I think the problem was Viper4Audio. But its also sad. i cant use this amazing equalizer anymore.

Install instructions:
Download all files and place on external SD card.
Make FULL Nandroid backup. We are not responsible for your phone being bricked. As you know flashing custom recoveries and/or roms voids your warranty.
Wipe dalvik, cache, data, and system
Flash Rom, Root, pixel logo, and encryption breaker. Reboot. First boot takes about ten minutes.

Wow that is weird.im using it and it's fine..I'll do some checking. Try relashing SuperSU and if it doesn't help, dirty flash the rom.dont wipe. That may fix it. Please keep us posted

Update, it was working for me cuz I was using our test version. I since flashed the ROM and I'm having same prob.we will figure out a fix ASAP. Sorry man. I may have goofed on something when I was adding some things.ill check it out soon as I can.

I fixed it. I have a flash able zip that fixed the issue. But I have another huge bug. I can not receive any incoming calls. My phone rings and I hear the call but that screen that pops up saying this person is calling swipe left to answer never comes up. Also if you make a call that i call screen doesn't show up either so you can't hang up or enter anything.

I just flashed deutoronomy 2..3.3 and that fixed the whole viper problem.
This bug may be the same bug associated with the dreamux rom when it comes to bluetooth. When i connect a bluetooth device of any kind to this rom the device all of a sudden lags to the point where the device is unusable. As soon as i turn off the bluetooth device and it disconnects from the phone. In a few seconds, the phone goes back to normal and everything is fine

I flashed Magnum Opus and the driver they use is busted. If you flash XtremeMusic after ARISE then delete ViperFX it processes great. Magnum Opus sounds twice as good as Deutoronomy.
I gotta say i love this rom. It is very stable. With the exception of the bluetooth bug. This is a very stable rom.

If SuperSU flashable not work, try flash magisk and flash trought TWRP.
