So I've recently purchased a P8 Lite 2017 to replace my old P8 Lite from 2015 and I've decided I want to get the latest version of Android for it having seen things about it online. I vaguely remember doing something like this with the original P8 Lite by updating it with Android 6.0 though my memory isn't reliable. I am aware of the risks involved and what can happen to my phone but I enjoy doing things like this and learning about it.
If at all possible, could someone explain to me the steps required to install Oreo onto my P8 Lite 2017? Or even direct me to posts that would explain how to do it? I've tried searching but, to be honest, I'm completely useless and trying to find information I need.

We might get updater.script errors on TWRP and cust incompatibilities... But I might as well be wrong, sure @haky 86 and other experts have the correct answer for this. If they are 100% equivalent, we should indeed migrate this forum
only if no roms there in that section!
or better I can ask a mod to move all pra-lx1 right there to get more visibility, at last I've nothing to do or work on the old p8 lite anymore!
P.S: my next new rom will be published into the Honor 8 Lite, I'm not going to publish roms here anymore since I close with old p8 lite developments definitively.

I've wondering what would really happened if i am gonna flash a different firmware based on flashing different oeminfo
Original Firmware: PRA-LX2C636B160
Flashed after debrand: PRA-LX1XXXXB180 (EU HW, Dual Sim version)
I was scared when EMUI asks for update again then they've asked me to update system images too, right after a OTA update. It was B190 with March 2018 Security Update.
What should i do? Should i ignore this until i were able to go back to PRA-LX2?
And also what is difference between P8 Lite 2017 to GR3 2017?

The names are different just because Huawei does not ship the same model-name worldwide.
Different models are sold in different parts of the world even though it is the same phone, almost (99%)! Things that can differ is the color and the dual-sim/single-sim.
Your phone is pra-lx2 but the software thinks its pra-lx1, so you will always get the updates for lx1 version.
You should not be afraid of the updates since as I said before, it is basically the same version of the phone. Updating wont hurt the phone.
P8 Lite 2017 is GR3 2017, and many other names.

I have tried to update my phone for a while since the removal of the boot loader unlock by HUAWEI and haven't had much look until i found a thread on another website.
and found a link to Huawei P8 Lite Prague-L11 8.0.0.400(C432) Firmware 8.0.0 r1 EMUI8.0
which allowed me to update to EMUI 8, BUT IT WAS THE WRONG BUILD Everything worked just wrong BUILD NUMBER. after a long time and website trolling i found a file which was said to be the correct file, but at a cost. i managed to find the after a little search Huawei P8 Lite 2017 Prague-L31 8.0.0.402(C432) Firmware 8.0.0 r1 EMUI8.0
i now have a fully working EMUI 8 and correct BUILD NUMBER.

I cant find the correct rom. At half year before I also have this problem but somebody helped me here, and he says my model(PRA LX1) is working with the same rom like p8-lite 2017 or huawei nova h?
