Best stable rom for Moto g 2nd gen - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi
My friend has a Moto G 2nd gen, His device is almost about to die, He asked me if I can revive his device, His device is working fine except the OS, Thus I want the best stable rom for it, And if possible latest version of android, And gapps.
Is there any Android Go rom?

XT1045 Peregrine OTA Marshmallow 6.0 update???

Hello all,
I've got an XT1045 with stock 5.1 Lollipop. I know that a 6.0 Marshmallow update is promised, but I haven't gotten it yet. Does anyone have it, or links?
Had a look on google but it seems the Peregrine will not get official MM. There is the MM ported rom from the THEA (xt1072)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g/4g-development/rom-identity-crisis-6-lte-t3327995/page50
But there is official CM13 (MM) available for the Peregrine, I highly recommend it. It is what I use on my THEA.
https://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=peregrine
Thanks for the info! I'd like to just stay stock, but if this CM ROM is pretty stable, I'll give it a go. About the only reason I want 6.0 is for that adoptable storage feature. I'm assuming that this ROM is pre rooted, and has the usual CM goodies baked in???
PS, I'm new to this device forum. What is this 'THEA' you mentioned?

It is definitely stable for daily use and does come with CM goodies and yes has built in root (enabled in developer settings) I find it much better than stock MM. Thea is just the device variant, yours being Peregrine and another being Titan. If you do flash CM13 make sure it is for the Peregrine version.

Moto app for custom ROM [6.0/6.0.1]

Is there any custom android 6 ROM that has Moto app? I meant THIS
OR, Does the ROM support the Moto features of :
Moto Display, Moto Voice, Moto Actions, etc... if you know what I mean. If so, give the link for that ROM
I can't afford to lose this, I love this mobile for those features.
OR ELSE, Is there a separate Moto app for a ROM, if so, please give the link for ROM with that Moto app
OR, Does the app directly from the Google Play Store works? If so, give the link for that ROM
Also, if you could give me the default CM13.0 link along with this, I'd be greatful
Here, the ROM I'm asking is totally Android 6.0, Marshmallow and the device is totally MOTO X (2013)
Thank you guys for the concern, you guys rock!
If you want to use Moto display, voice, and etc features, you should stay on stock.
There is no official CM13 for Moto X yet.
You can try Team octOS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/development/romghost-team-octos-oct-m-t3324780
Or search XDA forums for unofficial CM based marshmallow ROMs.

No, device support ended in 5.1.
And no custom 6.0.1 rom will have the Moto functions because that's proprietary and Lenovo won't release the drivers.

Fun Fact: CyanogenMod 12.1 is the latest CyanogenMod version available for Moto X, AND Moto G received 13 snapshot just a while back.

To be fair the 2013 Moto G was a much more popular device than the 2013 Moto X.
Even unofficial ROMs are becoming more rare to our device, I have a Galaxy Tab S 10.5 and it received a very functional Nougat ROM just 5 days after official launch, meanwhile I don't see any interest from a kind developer in porting Nougat to our phone.
Despite that I don't see much reason to buy a new phone right now, my phone is fine even after more than 2 years owning it.

Stable Rom for Daily Use

Hello, I was going to root my Moto X and wanted to know what recommendations there are for very stable roms currently available. Thanks ahead.
Use Lineage OS, its the most stable one.
Latest stock with xposed or CypherOS works both for me.
Cheers
Sent from my victara using XDA Labs

You mean the one which still doesn't show charging percentage when the phone is off?
Go for Resurrection Remix or AOSP Extended, they've got the most features and they work great (AOSP gives you that extra bit in battery life)
For me the best is LineageOs
I tried a lot of ROMs, but since May for me, a good choice is LineageOs, stable, simple, smooth. All working good, great battery life with greenify.
(The ROM shows battery percentage when phone is changing while it's off) The bug was fixed some time ago. I recommend you this Rom.

Hello again, is Lineage OS stable enough to be used every day. I use my phone a lot for work and can't afford crashes and apps not working.
Thanks ahead.

Its stable enough. If it will not be stable enough for you, you can always switch to another rom.
Which rom date should I try?
Hello, I want to try Lineage, which rom date should I try?
The latest work fine.
This month they fixed some bugs, the ROM of 16 June is working very good.
For root:go on LineageOs page download, on extras you find it, the name is: addonsu-arm-signed.zip
Just flash it after installing lineage
For opengapps I recommend you Pico or Stock
I recommend you to use an usb for installing the ROM,gapps and root.
I flash all ROMs from usb otg, I wipe everything on my phone, except otg.

Nexus Experience ROM 10.4 Users

Does anyone here using this rom? is there any difference in stock rom in terms of SoT and functions, camera quality..etc?
is is worth it to install this rom rather than choosing the nougat or oreo roms?
Thanks!
edited: there is a nougat version also. does anyone tried this?
For marshmallow use lite stock rom is the best if you want root and performance and battery.
For nougat i test nx and is like others.
I prefer stock lite for all and for camera terms stock camera.
I hope help you.

I recommend to use NITROGEN OS 8.1.0 cause it´s very stable.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/xiaomi-redmi-4x/development/rom-nitrogen-os-redmi-4xsantoni-t3738083
Ive used almost every oreo rom I dont find many difference, every rom has own features but its quite similar its my personal opinion I find all of them almost same in performance and battery backup

Sorry I can´t say. In my device before santoni I was on Resurrection Remix 5.8.5, but with santoni I wasn´t satisfied with it. So I stayed at first on Miui Xiaomi.eu 9 but not really satisfied too. With new oreo roms I changed to NITROGEN OS 8.1.0. That´s my way on santoni device...
For Oreo: Its NOS
For Nougat: It's Dot.OS
You must try Invicta OS rom, it's very smooth and stable.
Before this I tried Nitrogen OS (stable) but after reboot finger print didn't work, rest were fine.
Go ahead and try Invicta OS.
Use cardinal aosp rom. Best performance, better battery backup in comparrision of other Oreo roms.
Cardinal aosp is the best Oreo ROM for redmi 4 santoni. Everything is good in this rom. It also supports OTA updates and thanks for the developer for making an awesome rom.

Well I am using Aosp extended Oreo. Although I am facing problems with root. But the smoothness and stability is good. You won't get the same battery life as you get on miui but it's actually not bad.
You can try it out. I am quite satisfied with it but it might affect you if you need root access.
for me pixel experience.
