Make sure you're in a well lit room, no direct sunlight behind you.
It works fine with root here.

it happened to me the same thing is because you are installing the supersu, that starting with the 136 does not work with the face unlock, you have to install the magisk and that's the way it works for me

Thanks for your reply, do you know how i can change from super su root to magisk because i don't want lose my data, and when i root with super su it erase my userdata partition.
Thanks

Lemme help:
If your bootloader is unlocked you can install Magisk without loosing your data (Do a backup anyway)
Restore your original ramdisk without root.
Download TWRP 0.7 with MTP and decryptsupport from here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/development/huawei-mate-10-pro-twrp-3-2-1-0-t3769904
Download Magisk here: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v16.0/Magisk-v16.0.zip
Install TWRP as described in the post, as soon you are inside TWRP, upload Magisk from your PC and install that zip. That's it.
Worked on my BLA-L29, faceunlock persists.

You have to install the XposedInstaller_3.0_alpha4.apk, which can be found in the download section.

The only devices that require an unlocked bootloader are HTC's since they have S-ON which prevents writes to the system permanently until it is switched off. This would make xposed impossible to install as once it is installed a reboot is required but the reboot would clear all changes to system.

What about systemless Xposed? Does it also require an unlocked bootloader?

Yep, can't flash custom kernels on a locked bootloader which systemless xposed Counts as. If you can flash custom kernels you can switch to S-OFF since its at kernel level anyway... If you can manage to install and boot a recovery somehow without unlocking the bootloader that would work too since S-ON only works while it's booted to system

[Bootloop] Xiaomi Mi A2 - PIE

Personally, today I received the update of the "December 2018" Security Patch from my Mi A2 (Already with the Pie), but after "extracting the files, updating the apps" and request to reboot, my cell phone does not exit the ANDROID screen anymore ONE.
It stays on this screen until it turns off again (automatic).
Did someone else do that?
Do you know how to correct this error ??
Thank you!
Do you have unloked bootloader?

I have already tried to access recovery, as well as reboot the bootloader through the fastboot, but nothing. He either enters the Fastboot, or stands still on the Android One screen.
I can not unlock Bootloader because it has no way to enable usb debugging and disable oem locking since it does not access the system.
Im in the same exact situation. Got the update and phone gets stuck at boot screen.:crying:
You have to enter Edl mode and flash rom with mi flash. I had the same problem and solved it. this is the only way for the lock bootloader.

I have just received this OTA and now I don't know if I should install it, were you root user or did you have modified the software? Mabye a Magisk module not being deactivated/uninstalled before the OTA caused your bootloop...
Doing this wont void the warranty?
i have the same problem but my bootloader is unlocked. i dont want to lose my userdata, what should i do?

Have you got TWRP or any other custom recovery installed? If not, install it and copy your data from there to your PC, then flash again all software partitions and when you reboot your device, restore the backup. It should work...
If not, you can try the experimental way and flash again all the partitions except userdata, but I'm not sure this way will work...
once i unlocked the bootloader i didnt do fastboot unlock critical. but i need it to flash the partitions. if i do it know will all userdate be erased?

Just use flash_all_except_data script. It worked for me with extracted ota payload, and you can now use full fastboot 10.0.2.0 image - link is available.

Unlocking will wipe all userdata. This is why I always unlock everything right after buying the phone.
Same problem here
I also got the exact same problem: stuck in androidone screen, with a locked bootloader. I did not want it to open it myself to avoid losing the warranty, so I have sent it back to the seller (eGlobalCentralUK), they should be able to fix it easily...
I find it very disturbing that Xiaomi has not been helpful giving a solution (they just kept referring me to the seller) , even though they are clearly to blame...
Same problem for me too. I'm struggling with it for four days with it.
Sending the phone back is my last resort, I prefer a DIY solution.
Unlocking the bootloader is the problem at this moment. When it is unlocked I can reflash the stock android ROM again and hopefully the phone will work again.

For activate camera2api you need unlocked bootloader, you don't need root but you need the bootloader unlocker. When you unlock your bootloader you gonna lose your data.

there's a trick that works with A1 that you may want to try:
enable fastboot
boot into fastboot
type the oem unlock command WITH BUTTON DOWN PRESSED
phone reboots directly to fastboot again
typoe: fastboot reboot
??
profit!
i don't know it it also works for a2

To activate the camera2API you need root (access to the smartphone with elevated permissions), at least root temporary.
So you need root and a unlocked bootloader.

Question Mi 11 Black Screen after Update to MIUI 12.0.9.0 RKBMIXM via Updater app

Please help fellow person in trouble here guys, i have so many data stored in the device and the device only shows Always on Display (AOD) running after the update finished and restart. Can somebody tell is it possible to at least get my data back? My bootloader are not unlocked and I use global device performing local update using zip via Updater app. Then suddenly the black screen happen after the device prompt to reboot :/
You flashed the whole rom or the ota update? Im asking because i flashed the same as you yesterday 12.0.9.0 RKBMIXM but my bootloader is unlocked and i flashed the whole rom file (3.1gb) and everythings working fine for me
Same thing happened to mine, when updating via updater, flashed whole 3.1gb, after updating then rebooted it got stuck on bootloader, so i factory reset then it got locked, had to go to service center as the password on my mi account wont work. My bootloader was locked also btw.
Seems like the locked bootloader is the problem. Can someone else confirm this?
Usually you can try to enter recovery mode to wipe data. Which will format the phone, because the version you're trying to flash isn't yet stable to flash. Hope this helps.
Yes, after flash and reboot it will become blank screen, but when try to turn off, the usual four icon menu will appear, just restart into recovery and wipe data will start the phone successfully.

It doesnt block OTA if you unlock bootloader. You will be able to get OTA as long as you have stock recovery

so in case of update, I have to relock BL, update, and then unlock, so wipe everything, and root...
no way to do differently??

Dont need to relock BL. Just uninstall all magisk components, update, then re-root with magisk

why do you want to use Mi unlock,?
Well if you can find your device in minimal adb you are good to go, reboot your device into fastboot, run the command "fastboot devices" and check if your device shows

Don't use mi unlock to update your ROM. You need to install TWRP and update it using recovery. Latest updates are all twrp updates, not fastboot.
Do a search on this forum 9r go to the Xiaomi EU forum for info on the update and how 5o install twrp
