Unlock Code not working - Huawei P10 Questions & Answers

I just got my unlock code from the official page (https://www.emui.com/en/plugin/unlock/index), and after using the command
Code:
fastboot oem unlock myunlockcode
I get the error code: failed (remote: check password failed!). I tried several times. OEM Unlock is enabled in the developer options (and FRP unlocked is written on the fastboot screen).
I want to unlock the bootloader to rebrand my P10, because I got one with Middle East firmware while I live in Europe, and thus facing network problems. Any solutions ?
Thanks in advance.

You cannot rebrand P10 if you mean to use dual SIM if you have ONE SIM card. Only you can flash same rom like your for EU market. Try another time to download code. You must check on site "since EMUI 5.0"

I got a VTR-L29C185 (Middle East) firmware. You mean I can just flash a VTR-L29C432 (Europe) one ? And how, with Firmware finder ?
Thanks.

Actually you can rebrand from VTR-L09 to VTR-L29. I did it myself (on Nougat).

Yes you can. Because you dont know ehat rom you flashed before, use this 185 from FirmwareFinder and download (set AUTO) and flash. In FF you must set VTR L29 device and also you need to find approved software for instal. Because you have ModleEast software, in FF default will show you all softwers for that region. You have FF on Google Play store just tipe Huawei Update or Firmware Finder for Huawei...in search box

I wanted to unlock the bootloader so I can change the region, if I can do it with firmware finder without unlocking the bootloader then it's fine. Even tho I would've rooted the phone and installed a custom ROM later but that's not my primary goal for now.

Like i se custom roms only you can instal usimg Treble project. I dont know can you instale EU version. Try in FF and you will see if your device is supported. You need approved premission in FF, just check. Once what i did is that i mistake flash wia FF/OTA L09 rom (my phone is dual sim L29) and rom works perfect both SIM card. How this happen i dont know. Afther this i succes flash again L29 rom. If i can this mabey you can falsh EU rom. Did you buy your phone from EU market!

I bought it on a french website, but it was a third party supplier. Like I said, custom roms are for later if I get to unlock my bootloader. For now, I just want to change the Region to Europe so I don't have problems with the network anymore.

I am not sure what you exactly mean not being able to use dual SIM, but I am actually using two SIM cards right now in my rebranded L09 phone. Both cards work for calling and data. So I can receive calls on both SIM cards and can choose either of them for making calls or or using data.

Hello,
is there a way to get international rom on my AL10? I bought it because of 4GB/64GB instead of 3GB/32GB.. DualSim isn´t important for me.
But I want better support for german language and Google Playstore..
Since a UL00/10 from P8 could be converted to L09, is there something similar possible for AL10 P9 or at least another Custom? maybe C433? C432 wasn´t present for P8 chinese models, but C433.
I think it's possible but u need to find stock firmware to AL29 thats the global version.

has L29 also 4GB/64GB or will this be detected?

Nougat update borked my P9 - I now have 2 IMEIs

Weird... I got fed up waiting for the beta so flashed a ROM and it all went pear shaped.
After days of reflashing I finally got a Nougat ROM that almost works. I'm without camera and bluetooth like others here but I have no way of flashing the hw_euro zip as I cannot install TWRP. Fastboot mode says unlocked for phone and frp and has one IMEI number but the phone isn't unlocked.
When I boot up I get a different IMEI in settings and I have no way of getting to 'manufacture mode' as *#.... code doesn't work.
My build number is now 'NRD90M test-keys'
I assume there's no other way of flashing the hw zip? Is there any way out???

Maybe try everything again. Flash Rollback package and check if everything is ok.
But wait. How it's possible that you are unable to flash hw package? Dload doesn't see this package or what?
Thanks for responding. How would you flash the separate HW (update_full_hw_eu) file in dload? I thought it was TWRP only?
In other thread someone wrote how to do it.
Download these to zips: update.zip and update_full_hw_eu.zip
Unpack update.zip to dload folder and move hw zip to other folder. Then turn off your phone and enter dload mode - your phone will install update.zip
Then, when your phone boot up, delete all files from dload folder and unpack update_full_hw_eu.zip and move these files to dload folder. Turn off your phone and boot into dload. It'll install everything
Thanks but I get "Software install failed' at the 5% mark.

Failure. Are you sure that the HW package can be installed outside of TWRP??? I was certain it's otherwise. I would love to get my bluetooth back...

Thanks. I now have a functioning *182 phone. The weird thing is there's still a Jekyll/Hyde thing going on. In settings the firmware is EVA-L09C432B182 though in DC Unlocker it is listed as EVA-C900B182 and I still have two IMEIs (and the 2 unlocker codes - one for each IMEI - do not work at all).
For everyone struggling to get the beta to work with twrp, the proper way to do it is to:
1) First of all, make sure you are flashing the right TWRP version. While browsing through numerous topics on this forum I've stumbled upon at the least two different versions, both of which worked and allowed me to run the l09 b322 beta successfully, but doing so with the earlier version resulted in no camera, bluetooth and other issues, while using the correct one I've got myself a perfectly fine nougat I'm happily using today. The correct one is 3.0.2.0 with encryption support
2) secondly, you need to be perfectly sure you are flashing the correct version, made strictly for your device, possibly downloaded from the Huawei servers. I believe both L09 and L19 ROMs can be flashed regardless of the device, but may not work properly, eg. the NFC problems etc. Also remember, there are always two zip's - the main update and the apps package (so-called EU package), which have to be flashed at the same time, because after you boot the system the TWRP will no longer be accessible.
3) about that TWRP and root - afaik, there is no perfectly working Nougat version, so after updating to beta you will not be rooted.
4) be prepared for the bad case scenario and get the rollback package + the stock marshmallow firmware version. That small update.app included in the package will sorta unlock the rollback possibility and will allow you to flash the stock ROM. One important thing here is that because you have no TWRP at this moment (see point 2) the flashing is done via the dload method - place the update.app in the 'dload' folder on the root of your external SD card, turn off the phone and turn it on by holding vol +, vol - and power button which will start the update process. After it's done, the system will boot up - unpack the stock firmware zip, find the update.app, copy it to 'dload' folder, power off and power on with the above-mentioned combination - congrats, you are back to the stock ROM with locked bootloader and may start over with the TWRP and so on.
OFC that's the way it worked for me and im just sharing the info - not responsible if it goes wrong
Help Please!!!!

If u bought it in Pakistan it is C185 that is thw Cust for Middle East/Africa. And if u upgrade to Nougat with wrong Cust like C636 that is Asia u will end up in Test key version, C432 is EU. Have u used the Rollback Firmware?

Yes when I used both Rollbacks
First I tried roll back from Huawei Pakistan Site C185 rollback
Kept it in dload powered it on pressing all three buttons and got the
Incompatible with current version error
Then I tried the rollback in OP's Link well that worked
But after that the C185B181 FW gave same error by same method
Although it couldnt find FW from internal storage so I was using 64GB Samsung Evo+

VTR-L09 or VTR-L29 - newbie question

hello!
I hope its ok that I open a new thread.
I want to move from my Sony Xperia Z5 Compact to the Huawei P10. I found in german shops the VTR-L09 and L29. I don't know which one should I buy? I don't need a dual SIM phone. But which get faster FW updates or get faster custom roms?
I also want to root my phone, is there any difference between both phones?
And a stupid question, can I put a mirco SD in to the VTR-L29?
Thank you at all
The only difference is the unlocked dual sim feature.
For root there's no difference and the updates aren't connected to the phone version. How Huawei decides which phone will get an update seems to be magic.
You can also rebrand your phone from L09 to L29 and vice versa.
Get the phone which is cheaper, I think L09 in Germany.
I got an L09 from German provider 1&1 and rebranded to L29 for dual sim without any problems.
huawei p10 rebrand
Hello Janno,
Do you mean you could unlock dual sim fuctionality and use an l29 rom rebranding your phone?
Thnks!

I'm seriously thinking of getting the german version from saturn for 350e now....could you please send me/share a link with how to which from l09 to l29, to enjoy the dual sim feature.
And also, what's you personal view of the phone? Still happy? would you buy it again?

Hi m8, can you please tell me what version and cust is now on your device, in order to help you reviving your device? Use Fastboot in order to find out what version and cust you're on. For how to, please check this link and use the following commands:
fastboot oem get-build-number
and press enter button
This command checks the version, cust and actual firmware of your phone.

After you will get your info about your version and cust (ex. VOG-L09 C185), head over to my thread and download the firmware matching your phone's needs.

Ok, so your device is VOG-L09 C636. I've searched for a firmware for your device, but the only one available was for VOG-L29 C636 and you can't use it, because it will get you still softbricked. ATM, i'm affraid you will have to wait for a Huawei release of a dload firmware for VOG-L09 C636 cust. You can't downgrade, because that is done only with HiSuite PC version and if you enter eRecovery it will fail, because EMUI 10 wasn't released for your device.
You might have a chance by taking it to Huawei Service Center and tell them it got in this state whille trying to get updated by itself, using OTA (Over The Air updates), maybe they will change your phone's motherboard free of charge

That firmware is legit, but it's unusable for you, because can't be used to downgrade from EMUI 10 to EMUI 9.1. The only way to downgrade is by using HISuite PC and having a working phone with HiSuite app installed. In order to revive your phone, you need an EMUI 10 dload firmware (as the same you've linked) for your cust (VOG-L09 C636).

Dual SIM got the update and i have it too on my thread for flashing (v10.0.0.178), single SIM (VOG-L09) don't have a clue.

Even if it is softbricked atm, you can try to flash the firmware i've told you in my previous post. Download it, copy the dload folder to your OTG memory stick, Power OFF phone, then press POWER+VOLUME UP buttons and keep them pressed untill you see Huawei on screen. Release the POWER button and keep pressing VOLUME UP untill you are in eRecovery menu, then release button. When in menu, select Update mode, then select Memory card/OTG update mode and it should start the update.
Maybe you're in luck and that version will revive your device.
If not, then you will have to wait for VOG-L09 C636 dload firmware or even change motherboard, as you said previously.

Bad luck .
It's clear now, you'll will have to wait for VOG-L09 C636 dload firmware or even change motherboard, if you can do it no charge at Huawei Service Center, as you said previously (otherwise i know it's somewhere ~300$, quite expensive).
Anyway, i will let you know when a VOG-L09 C636 dload firmware will be available
Cheers,
