Hi everybody!
I have a problem with my Moto G5s Plus.
I can't get security updates through OTA, the last one that my phone have installed is from December 2017.
When I try to update the phone, it says that the last update is already installed.
Is it posible to install security updates manually?
if yes, Where can I find those files?
Or, How to fix this issue?
What can I do?
My phone details:
Phone Model: Moto G5s Plus (XT1800)
Android: 7.1.1
Software Channel: openmx
Security Patch: December 01 2017
Compilation Number: NPS26.116-61

If any other info about my phone is required, please tell me!
Thanks in advance!

That means you flashed wrong fastboot ROM, that was not meant for your region/country or device model..
Now you have to find correct version of fastboot ROM.
Do you have any backup of stock ROM ?
EDIT: build version NPS26.116-61 was indian/asian update for december, definitely you are on wrong build.

The builds that end in #116-61 are all intended for India region.
The builds that end in #116-4X are all intended for North America.
These are all the builds I've written down since owning the Moto G5S Plus
Build: NPS26-116-45 Android 7.1.1 Security June 1, 2017
Build: NPSS26.116-48-9 Android 7.1.1 Security January 1, 2018
Build: NPSS26.116-48-12 Android 7.1.1 Security March 1, 2018
Build: NPSS26.116-48-15 Android 7.1.1 Security April 1, 2018
On Firmware Center you'll see some builds listed as NPS and some listed as NPSS. NPS means it's an original factory build. NPSS means it's an OTA update build.
To answer your question: if you live in North America, download and install the file that says NPS26-116-45. After you install it, go to 'settings' and 'check for update'. You'll immediately get an OTA update. Install the OTA update then 'check for update'. You'll get the next increment OTA update. Install and keep performing 'check for update' until you have the most recent build installed (build NPSS26.116-48-15 as of today).

Hi bro! I also have latam version (XT1801) and I have to use the very same firmware you do, but I don't now how to install security patches manually. Maybe would you explain to me how?
I already have everything I need: VIPER4Android + libraries, Magisk, Xposed, but I have attempted -several times- to lock bootloader to receive them through OTA (of course before flashing everything I mentioned before ), but I got always errors through bootloader/cmd commands, so I definitely need to install those patches manually.
I really will appreciate all help you can give me. Thanks!

Hey everyone!
I still have installed the april security patch in my moto g5s Plus (mid june) and there is not a new one by OTA.
Are you with the same situation?
Does anyone have a different security patch (or even oreo) from OTA?
I'm from Latin America too, the last OTA Update that I received was April Security Patch.
My compilation number is: NPSS26.116-26-14

My guess is this is mainly a security update much like the TWN June security update http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/lg-g4-twn-june-security-patch-update-t3407694 and will contain mostly security updates along with some bug fixes. I'll check lg up tonight. 20o is not listed on t-mobile.com yet.

Learn how to check the software version and see official versions for the LG G4.
Starting July 5, the LG G4 received an update to software Android 6.0.1 / Software H81120o available via OTA push and pull-down. This mandatory update improves messaging security.
Note: As of April 11, this update has been changed to mandatory with automatic download and install. If the update has not been completed on a device, it will download in the background and update automatically.
really??? just messaging security.??? i was trying to download 20i last night.. should i download this one.. and could i go back to LP10N??
It's 6.0. Not 6.0.1. Seems like just a security update. I flashed the kdz and rooted it. So far it's running fine.

My upgrade using LG Bridge just finished. Software info still lists 6.0 and the build number has not changed. Patch level is now 2016-06-01, Security Software version is now 2.0 release 2. I forgot to write down the full info from uname -a but it's now

Wonder if this will pull me out of a 20i brick i been in since March? If I use LG bridge
I was rooted on a custom Rom and relocked boot loader and only have dload mode .
LG up tool wont flash because it comes up as Device model unknown because I bricked on a custom rom and not stock.. there has to be a fix someone could save alot of people if tjey would remake LG up to unbrick devices that have the Device unknown message

Dear friends
Searching the internet, I saw two roms, fi project and the normal project. I would like to know the best way to use it and if there is a difference. I ask this because I use the project fi and noticed a better stability and speed on the phone, but the security patch is not current like another rom. Thanks and hugs
Payton Fi is the Android One version, only receive updates if your software channel is retus, the other one is the international retail ROM, have more modifications than the Fi version.

How do i find or where do i look to update to feb , march , april? Im just curious , it says im up to date, obviously i am not?
Hmm what firmware do you have on your device? Having a search on the Reddit motog pages, seems that the XT1806 is on the NPS26.116-48 series of firmwares https://www.reddit.com/r/MotoG/comments/8otvt2/april_security_update_for_moto_g5s_plus_retail_us/ Looks like the April 2018 OTA to NPSS26.116-48-15 is the latest?
Seems that some retUS devices also shipped with NPS26.116-45, I'm not sure what update path they took, maybe merged to the NPS26.116-48 series of updates? https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=74352527&postcount=43

Hmm, looks like your device is on the incorrect firmware - I found this link from Republic Wireless indicating that NPSS26.116-48-15 is the April 2018 security patch for US devices: https://forums.republicwireless.com/t/system-update-for-moto-g5s-05-23-18/19234
Though I've not found the April 2018 firmware, here's links to the NPSS26.116-48-12 and NPSS26.116-45-12 firmwares (March 2018 security patch)
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=76070231&postcount=24
However, I'm not sure as to the differences between the two firmwares - they've both been deployed to XT1806 devices from what I've read. It seems the NPSS26.116-48-12 build was the more commonly deployed? Fully flashing one of these firmwares should get you OTA updates to the April 2018 security patch. I'm hoping that someone with a US device can comment further.

Again, I don't know what the difference is between the 45-12 and the 48-12 firmwares - however, the 48-12 firmware appears to be more commonly mentioned, so you may be okay with the 48-12 firmware? Good luck whichever you decide.
Ill try the 48 today, havent had tge time, i too looked at both and really dont see any difference, tge firmware im using worjs fine and i have no issues just no ota, i initially bricked this phone, but ived never trully bricked an ardoid phone in my life , i lost recovery thus time and the OS, but with adb fastboot , i was back in business in a matter of minutes, just needed to find A firmware

Im on retin (Retail India) and still no sign of update. Update comes to Moto Z (2016) & Moto Z2F at the same time..
Only time worth taken a OTA is if it gets a upgrade to Pie..I'm not upgrading from my DU 8.1 until then..
Don't need Pie, I really like oreo. But there is no much difference. So, let Pie come to us. Few bug fixes here and there. But maybe better wait for possible 9.0.1. We will see what we see.

Pie also don't concern me specially when im going to lose the themes:crying: My Major concerns are the bugs which are lying here and there , such as no audio offloading (16bit & 24bit and video) which makes music comes like a crap , no EQ apps can be used due to that. Bug in headphone icon indicator in status bar which doesn't show proper icon for headset with mic (eg.Apple Earpods)
I've been using Los 16 for a few days now and Pie is a huge difference!
Even the fonts have changed for the better. I can't go back to Oreo now. Pie is so much better!
