For devices with the latest Nougat firmware, the splash screen is no longer loaded from the splash.img..
Instead, it gets loaded from the logo.img ..
The latest logo.img from @greddy seems to have 6 pictures, each in RBG24 format.
For Mi 5, @Cynob has created a tool for Mi 5 Nougat firmware here (for 5pics): https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-...-logo-t3604134..
You may try to extend it for 6 pictures for Mi Max2.. If you do so, pls tell me, so that I'll link this post to the post that you create..
(I'm a little busy these days, so I'm sorry, I'll do create the tool from scratch when I find time)

I bought a second hand phone MI NOTE (virgo) and i am new in the World of Xiaomi and MIUI. I can tell that the phone is running a China ROM, specifically ROM version MIUI 16.3.6.0 (KXECNBL) Stable. It contains lots of useless apps and well apps that are fully running in chinese language, so i wanted to flash a different ROM. After some researches and tries, i have failed to flash a stable nor dev Global ROM. The ROMs that i tried are located here en. miui. com/download-262. html#366 (just remove the spaces and add http) . I have tried the System update, Recovery update and the Fastboot update but failed in all of it. I always get the "Install update.zip signature verification failed" in the Recovery update, holding down Volume down (-) and power only power on/off loops the device and not open the fastboot, and in the system update, there are no three dots where an option to update is present. I am now running android 4.4.4. I am from the Philippines btw, first owner said phone came from China. Can someone help me to just flash an android 6 stable and global rom? Also please excuse me in advance if i ask a lot of basic questions.

Bootloader locked on? Or do you mean bootloader unlock?
Are there any Screenshots?
Need German as language. Is it integrated?
Root integrated?
Thank you very much for this amazing rom....yes german languages and many other is integrated....rom is unrootet
Okay thx. For root install magisk and that's all? Will test it...
Miui based rom... Anyway more roms the better even not my thing
One point not clear to me : this rom has its bootloader locked as default right?
So if we flash your rom on an unlocked device, will the bootloader be locked again or not?
and second: Removed all Chinese applications (bloatware) => What chinese apps are removed from your rom?
regarding the google apps: what did you remove?
Thanks for seeing another rom dev here
---------- Post added at 09:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:00 PM ----------
Just one more : how can we have TWRP installed and the booloader locked?
very nice, was wondering when epic rom would start supporting our beloved mi max 2
will add this to the index once ive gotten my beauty sleep good night for now everyone *yawns*

Boot errors
When i flash this using twrp I am successful in booting, but am get three errors regarding mui daemon, ui stopping, and whetstone... anyone out there can assist?? I have unlocked bootloader. I cannot proceed in set-up due to the errors.
xiaomi service framework has stopped
google service framework keeps stopping
security keeps
Followed the install steps and after flashing a second it seems to have corrected itself, I may have not wiped post flash which caused my issues.
Thanks for your support.

Hi ,there.Thx for ur hard working. But i think i met a bug. You see, sometimes when i open an app ,the system will somehow automatic reboot, sometimes it automatic reboot for no reason while im using it. Hope u can fix the problem. Thx again.
Note: Do not try on miui based custom rom or any other rom. You may brick your device that way.
Hey guys,
Face ID from Redmi Note 5 Pro was recently ported to Redmi Note 4. Now it's working on our device too ( Mi Max 2). I have packed this port in Magisk Module. I personally tested this on Global Stable 9.5.1.0. You can test on your phone running stock miui. Download the file from link given below and flash in Magisk manager. Reboot the device and check if "Add face data" is there in lock screen settings. If it's there you are good to go. Follow the instructions in that option and enjoy.

It's working on my eu latest stable rom. Thanks
Can I use it on Global Beta ROM?
I tried using in on global beta 8.3.22 but it gave me a ui error just before system ui could start....making the phone unusable. Then....I guess it’s not working on global beta. [emoji12]

You can uninstall magisk to come out of that error. Then again flash it with required modules.
Works great for 9.2.1.0. But in 9.5.1.0 china stable(mi globe rom) face id works but pattern unlock stops working. You cant unlock with pattern. Need to modify the flash file.

I had to dirty flash the whole rom to solve it.
Do I need anything else other than module itself? Isn't it self contained?

This is an outdated mod. I'll not recommend using it on new build. Wait for the official rollout.

Hello guy, today i created a flashable zip to enable BOKEH/POTRAIT mode on our MI MAX 2. The process is very simple.
Requirement
UNLOCKED BOOTLOADER
ROOTED
MIUI 10 roms/Xiaomi EU
1. Download the zip file below
2. Boot into twrp and flash the file
3. Reboot
4 Enjoy the features!
Right now, only front facing camera is working. I will try to mod it and also enable it for rear camera if i got some times.
Thank you
Thanks bro

Hi all,
As the name says - Xiaomi BlackShark 2 is SD855 device which has been recently released. It sports stock android pie in order to help further improve performance of the device.
Has anyone tried to flash its rom to Mi 9?
Please just thoughts and/or experiences - no need to debate if Mi 9 needs this or not.
I would love to try myself but I still dont have the device.
Thanks!

This is very interesting and theoretically it should be quite viable since same SOC and probably same fingerprint sensor. But not same camera so maybe camera might have issues.
But otherwise seems like a nice idea
