the phone stopped charging entirely last night using the original Samsung charger and USB C. I have three of them and they all fail to work. Any ideas?
My wireless charger seems to work just fine though.
Check to make sure you haven't accidentally turned off "Fast Cable Charging" under Settings - Device Maintenance - Battery - Advanced (3-dot menu).

Did you happen to install the June security update recently? I have the exact same issue.
Clean out the charger port?
Cleaned out mine and it's back to charging like brand new.
?
i realized it did stop to work a few days after an update. I was able to get a warranty replacement from tmobile.
Happened to me too... Everytime I reinsert the USB side to the main charger and it works again... I initially thought it was only me and the port became loose.. But many people have it
I was having the same isssue
1- no fast charging
2- no USB OTG recognized
3- no SAMSUNG GEAR VR connection
--------------------------
tried :-
1- cleaning the USB port
2- new original cable with original charger
3- deep reset
4- setting reset
5- on off on off on off option of fast cable charging in the setting
6- safe mode
==== none of them solve the problem
--------------------------
solved by replacing the USB port in workshop
I have the same problem, i show fast charge after 3 seconds it show charge by cable.

My motoroid xt720 is having problem with battery charging and usb connection with PC through the phone USB small port:
-2 days ago I restored to original EU rom through this port successfully. Before this point of time, battery charging and usb connection with PC through the phone USB small port was OK.
-then I can not charge the battery and or connect to the PC through the usb cable via phone small usb port. However, I can now still use the same usb cable and port to restoreoriginal EU rom for the phone and use the same charger to charge the battery with external charging pad (not through phone.)
I use another charger with small usb port to charge the battery through the XT720 phone but it still can not charge.
Installing the new customed rom CronosX, but the same problem happen.
So I guess that the USB port on the phone has hardware issues or software issues with the phone.
Can someone give me advice how to check or fix this error? Thanks!

Hi there,
My phone is not charging very well, I knew I had battery issues so I recently purchased a new battery.
I have been using CM 10.2 nightlies.
The troubleshooting done so far:
Wipe data/factory reset
Install stable CM 10.1.3
Cleaned usb port
Changed from MTP to usb mass storage
New battery
Nexus 4 cable and charger
Note 2 cable and charger
SGS4 charge cable on PC usb
My phone is pluged and it discharges instead of charging, NO SERVICES OR PROGRAMS RUNNING
Screen off... it discharges to 1% faster
Should I run stock rom on this big ass boy?
Should I get a new USB port (I thinks this is it)?
Should I try a different kernel?
Or should I run a different radio?
Thanks in advance

How does it work while the Note is turned off ?
Does your Note recongnize if it is charging from USB or AC wall charger (must be on of course) ?
Your new battery is Samsung or OEM battery?

Had the same problem and the problem was due to damaged USB port. Change the USB port. Look up some tutorials and buy it from ebay or else where and do it yourselves. Its easy as pie. :good:

Galaxy Note 2 discharging if used while plugged in
My note 2 is charging very slowly while on (10% per hour), charges about the same pace when plugged in. Only just started happening recently, I suspect from the newest android update. on AC it used to charge while on in 4-6 hrs, depending on whether or not i was using it while plugged in. Did the cleaning battery / reset / clear cache etc and calibrated the device with Battery+ app. Phone still discharges at normal pace when not plugged in but 10 hours is a really effin long time for it to recharge, no?
I used to be able to use it heavily while plugged in and it would just stay level, and still charge on light usage. For it to lose charge while plugged in seems wrong.
I updated my phone through OTA, but once i rebooted it aftet installing update, my USB port started to act strange. The phone takes 6 hours to fully charged ( with the same original power brick and cable) and also the cannot be recognized by any computer. OTG flash drives don't work anymore too.
Anyone else experienced these symptoms?

Bad wire...
You've lost a couple of pins... So you're not getting the turbo charger handshake... Further confirmed by loss of data to your PC...
Get a new wire... Make sure it specifies DATA/SYNC...
Unless you've burned up your turbo charger... Which I have heard of yet... Though I've broken the board in a couple of QC 2.0 compatible wall warts... But they just stop charging all together

Hey, I have the same problem but I bought and changed the cable USB so I solved the "problem".
This is weird but seriously I noticed this problem, Really I don't know.
Nexus 6 USB/charging port are this phones Achilles heel
I have recently resurrected my nexus 6 and found that it no longer gives me the turbo charger notification.

Fast charging notifications are ROM dependant. AFAIK, still not part of the stock ROM.
A way to tell what's happening is to use Ampere and look for ~ 1900 - 2200mA of current on the quick charger. ~ 500mA on a regular wall charger and <200mA on usb (computer) port.
The phone will only fast charge below a preset level. Somewhere around 80% the fast charge starts to slow down and that is reflected in the current measurement. By 85%, my N6 drops to ~1600mA.
If you go to settings -> battery while plugged into a wall (AC) charger and it shows usb charging, then check the cable and charger. Try different ones. If still it shows usb charging, then your phone charging port is messed up. I'd first try cleaning it.
If you can't remember the last time you cleared the caches (clean flashed) a factory reset might get things cleaned up as well.
If you're still using the original battery at this point in time, slow charging might just be a result of an old, expended battery.
Hello all,
Strange thing noticed today my s10 doesn't do fast charge anymore.
I checked the settings and fast cable charge is active but the phone is only normal charging.(temp was ok)
Any advice?

Same thing for me! It's been driving me crazy. I'm on a T-Mobile S10 with the September update. Seems to have started since I updated..
Boys, they've seemed to have disabled it from the settings. Go to device care - settings - enable cable fast charge
Mine is still active in the settings. In fact, if I restart my phone and clear cache, it will say fast charging for 3 seconds before switching back to cable charging. I'll also get the occasional notification to check your charger connection.
All of this started since the T-Mobile September update came out. I've tried with 3 cables and 3 power bricks and booting into safe mode. I guess next step may be a factory reset.
FWIW, I updated my unlocked phone about an hour ago and it is still fast charging. I am not on T-Mobile though.
Try another USB cable.
Mine stopped working correctly (got the alert check your charger etc).
Used another I bought on AliExpress and fast charging is working as expected.

Hi there,
I think im having a unusual problem with my Note 9. Whenever i try to connect usb C to usb C there will be no charging or connecting to other devices. If im connecting from usb C to normal usb it will charge the phone.
Things i did:
- factory reset
- clean port
- other cables same problem.
- other phone same cable it works as expected
- replaced the connector of my note 9 same problem
- after some days quick charging stops working and a full charge will take 6/7 hours. i have to reboot to get a full battery in 2 hours.
- connecting my note 9 to my zenscreen go usbc/usbc it will not detect (OTG) my zenscreen go
- Using a OTG checker app gives me all green V
I really hope someone has come across this problem and point me to a solution.
