I installed Allo, having been told that Google Assistant will come with it. I have a OP3T
After downloading it seems nothing more than Google Now?? Is there something else I need to do
I would really appreciate any help you can give
Hi @eric0668
Allo will allow you to use the google assistant only within the application it self. If you would like google assistant instead of google now then there are different ways to do that.
Thanks H3rnand3zz
In spite of the number of posts I am really a newbie.
1. So even when I open Allo, it seems no different than Google Now
2. Could you help me get it working like it does on the Pixel [Non root]. I had the Pixel and really liked Google Assistant
Thanks Again

Sure no problem... So for the first question. You have to send Google assistant a message. So on the bottom right corner of the Convo list click new message icon and chose Google assistant.
2nd question download this app.... It works perfect and will give you Google assistant but you need root.

Unfortunately, you cannot get Google Assistant to work in the same way as it does on the Pixel without rooting. Downloading Allo does not activate Google Assistant through your Google app, it simply lets use it server-side. To enable true Google Assistant, either root or wait a few weeks. Google has stated that they are officially releasing Assistant on all phones with Android 6.0+ "soon".

You can use Freedom OS. There's google assistant which I'm using. You just need to select it in the Aroma Installer.
In chrome, google assistant reads with two voices. This only happens in chrome. In using the assistant stand alone, it works as expected. So frustrating that I had to stop using it.
Searched online and can't find anyone else.
How do I fix this?

Thanks!
I have an S10 (exynos, sigh).
And although there have been two play Store Google Photo updates since the new heat map feature was released, I don't have this feature in the Google Photos app.
I have tried:
- Restarting phone
- removing Google Account and readding
- uninstalling GPhotos updates (it comes preinstalled, so can't uninstall completely without rooting)
- clearing data and cache
(MANY combinations of the above, sometimes all of the steps)...nothing makes Google Photos look updated.
My wife's Huawei P30 Pro got the new features almost same day as to Google announcing the feature.
My secondary Huwaei P20 Pro also does NOT have the new features...could it possibly have something to do with my Google Account??
Thanks in advance for any pointers (as I really want to use that new Google Photos feature)
Update:
My Google account seems to be the problem... IPhone XS, P20 pro, Galaxy S8, Xiaomi Mi Mix 3
All show the "old" Google photos app.
But if I create a new Google account, BAM, new features on.
Anyone know why?
So I installed android 12 custom rom Pixel extended but I did not flash any gapps as I did not think it was necessary,.
Everything's working fine and smooth but I can't activate google assistant using my voice as it shows, Google assistant is not available for my language.
I have changed assistant and phone's language but no success.
After looking through some forums , I think i found something like it needs 'Google hotwords' etc.
Does someone have a solution?
I have ordered a replacement fire 10 without ads 2021 (not sure if its linked to amazon account) but I've read the instructions on how to get google assistant and play store (essentially not connecting to Wi-Fi and not signing in, right?) every time I tried installing google assistant it would say streaming error or something like that.
I have a replacement coming because after that it would let me open the amazon shopping store.
I could download the right app through play store and I even set up voice assistant but it doesn't work when I say "hey google"
Basically its all gone wrong and would like some advice for when I get my new device. I've read the instructions but worried it wont let me install google assistant from fire tool box itself
