I watched a review on youtube and it says the screen doesn't have the deepest black. I have the huawei mate 9 pro and it has an on screen display feature which shows the time while phone is in sleep/lock mode. is it ugly on the Mi8 while on sleep/lock mode?
It's AMOLED, black is black, turned off.

Hello, i have a p20 pro Black, today i woke up, the room completely dark, i had the p20 on ultra battrry power saving, i touch the power button and there is a 1cm from the top all área seems not Black but Grey, not enterily it seems Grey and Black like ashes.
Does anyone has this problem?

i just got the Xiaomi mi8 (Global Rom, MIUI 9.6) and noticed a thing with the display. If the brightness is under 40% (lower the problem gets more and more visiable, gets really bad at 10-15%) the black is starting to smear if next to a grey color. If i move a black part surrounded by grey over the screen the black smears into the grey. I also noticed there is a slight color gradient from left (dark) to the right (getting brighter).
I contected the shop i bought it from and they said they never heard of this problem. I googled the problem but got no resaults. The shop send me a new Xiaomi mi8 but guess what, the same problem occured on this new device too.
I tried to record a video but its really hard if the room is dark and the screen is at a low brightness but maybe you can see what i mean at the edges of the black parts if you look closely.

Really? Hmm, than i have to look for a device with a good old LCD panel.
Absolutely normal, my old s7 did this too, its due to the fact that pixels are turned off when displaying black and it might take a fraction of a second to turn on resulting in this smear. Happens to all oled displays
My new Mi 8 seems to have a defective screen. The defect becomes visible when the screen brightness is very low. Is this normal on Mi 8? Or mine is just defective? I've noticed it yesterday night when using a blue light filter called Night Shift. It's visible specially on reddish background and a blue light filter makes the screen color to reddish. You should also try yours and see if it's defective. I specifically downloaded a black image for a better view and turned on Night Shift with Dark filter and lowered brightness at 1-5%
The point is, what is the point of using the phone at brightness 1-5%?
Reading Mode is turned off , color correction is also turned off. still Display is yellowish during video play. In normal operational work the screen is ok.

Hello everyone there, I've bought a used OnePlus 7 pro a few days ago. But I'm having an issue with it.
Whenever I turn brightness to full, screen starts becoming small and big and small and big. I've tried turning adaptive brightness on and off, removing the screen protector, and rebooting into safe mode but nothing works.
I wanna know if the problem is with software or my phone's screen is damaged?
If this problem is with the screen then how the screen recorder is able capture it?
