As the title says, IMEI number switches slots when both SIMs are in. My first slot is ...15 and my second is 07. But when I put both SIMs in, the first becomes 07, and the second 15.
Caveat: I'm using a TMobile for my primary data, and a Verizon for my secondary talk and text.

I have a friend who is on MetroPCS here in the States and he can't seem to get his SIM card to be seen by this device. It was originally meant as a going-to-college gift but has turned into more of a headache than a gift. Yes, we know that MetroPCS uses T-Mobile's towers and the Blu R1 HD is entirely compatible with it...we just don't know why his SIM won't work. Originally we had to get a SIM adapter for the Nano SIM to make it fit the MicroSIM slots, but regardless of which slot we put it in, the phone is stuck on "Emergency Calls Only".
If anyone could help, that'd be a lifesaver, as he starts school on the 22nd of August.
Things we've tried:
Going through the searching for operators function in settings->more->cellular networks
Entering different values in APNs (settings->more->cell networks->APNs)
Restarting a bagillion times
Changing preferred networks
Repeatedly tapping on which sim slot to use for data and messaging
Going into Data Usage only to not find the Cellular data option next to MetroPCS
Did you try another SIM? It's possible that the phone itself is shot. Otherwise, the SIM could be shot. Did you try the SIM in another device? It seems unlikely (however, not impossible) that the SIM and the phone just don't like each other. It's also possible that your adapter is positioning the SIM incorrectly. You should be able to get a good one by going to a T-Mobile store. They usually have a few laying around.
Doesn't Metro require you to give them the phone's IMEI before being able to use the new phone? Contact Metro CS and tell them you got a new phone that you want to use and give them the IMEI
If you alrdy did that then try using another active SIM (borrow from friend/family) and see if that works fine with the phone in case the phone is defective
I have Metro PCS and this phone. You need to call MetroPCS and give them the IMEI. Make sure you give them the right IMEI as there are 2 SIM slots on the phone - each with its own IMEI
We went to a T-mobile store to get a good adapter for free.
Thanks, we'll try this!
It worked. His phone is now setup thanks.
Hi,
Got the note 9 since friday. working great. but i noticed that when i call on sim2, i can use mobile data of sim 1.
Default mobile data is from sim1. and phone calls are set to ask every time.
now my sim2 is my work number. during the working hours i call alot with this number.
my sim 1 is my private sub from t-mobile. and i mainly use the data plan of it. since i dont wanna use the internet that my boss pay's for for my personal use.
Now since i got this setup. what happends is. some one texts me a foto through whatsapp. and then calls me to sim2 before i can look / dowload the picture. then when i pickup the phone they ask me did u see the picture i sent you. i then open whatsapp. but i get the msg no network.
what i noticed is that when i call on sim1 i still have LTE data. (cause sim1 provides the data)
so it cant use data from sim 1 and voice from sim2 at the same time?
also is there a way to set certain apps to use data of a specific sim card?
lets say i open my 2nd whatsapp that it loads the images sent there from my sim2 network
but when i open my 1st whatsapp (2nd app cloning) it uses data from sim1?
or any other apps for exmp chrome and samsung internet?
is there any tweak that automates the switch data to sim2 as soon as i make a call with sim2?
now i can just click on the sim settings menu and change the default data to sim2 to receive data during the call. but when im driving in my car this are alot of buttons to press and i rather not.
i don't own N9 yet. read about dual sim technology varieties on the net, theoretically N9 should be able to get dual VOLTE feature on both SIMs (assuming it supported by carrier(s), and phone shows VOLTE icon on both SIMs). in the event you are making call on SIM 1 & trying to get data on SIM 2 or vice versa, this requires dual sims dual volte (DSDV) feature kicks in and liberates you to choose which SIM to get data from.
might really want to consult with your carrier(s) if both SIM support VOLTE.
Are you able to get VoLTE and WiFi calling to work on the international dual sim F variant of Note-9 on US T-mobile network?
I saw something a bit odd here. It says here on specs that secondary sim only supports voice but from what I know is that both SIM cards support data. Is there something wrong here? Do both sim slots not support data? To the best of my knowledge with this phone you can have two SIM cards and use data on both of them allowing you to download two WeChat apps and have two numbers for each WeChat account on one smartphone. Is this not the case now?? See link from HK below and look at the bottom of the specs page for supported bands on SIM card tray.

Hi
I don't have a second SIM handy but looking at the settings you set the phone with a default SIM for calling and a default for data. Makes sense you would have to do this. So outbound calls and default use of data is pushed through either SIM. Don't know if that helps....
Found a SIM and popped this in. I now have another option enabled which says switch data connection between calls. So the option moves the data to SIM 2 when taking a 4g call on SIM 1....

Hello all. I have an o2 sim in sim slot 1, and an EE sim in sim slot 2. If someone calls me on my o2 sim, it shows me their phone number without an issue. However if someone calls my EE sim, it just shows private number. I have tried swapping the sims over but it doesn't make a difference unfortunately. Someone on another forum directed me here for help. Any help would be much appreciated!
Does this happens with the same person calling you?
That person calls your o2 SIM and him/her number shows, but if THE SAME person calls you to the EE SIM it shows as private number???
Is this what is happening?? Really?
Seems a weird thing to be a matter of the phone itself, but i might be wrong.....
Yes that is what happens

And if anyone else using that carrier EE it shows as private number?
It doesn't matter what network they are on, all calls show as private number
Hey guys, out of nothing, my phone stop having signal, and start saying "No service" in the left top corner, where it used to be my mobile phone company, Claro. Then, I tested with other sim cards and the thing keep going the same, no signal in SIM 1. Then I put my sim card in slot 2, and it worked perfectly. Bad part is, I can't put a micro sd now, because I'm using that slot to put my sim card.
I reseted all "network" functions, I'm sorry, I don't know how is it in English phones, but I went to the option of reset all network settings, or something like that. That didn't work. I just lost all of my wifi passwords.
I've seen some carriers blacklist IMEI if device is not being paid on time. I once got scammed like that on a Note 9, and the sim 1 slot with imei 1 did not work, but the carrier did not block SIM2/IMEI2 so i could at least use the phone until the seller finally agreed the return process.
Try checking imei for blacklist status, and try reflashing the firmware with odin (all files including BL, AP, CP, and CSC)
