MIUI 10 Sounds ChangerAt the MIUI 10 launch event Xiaomi said that MIUI 10 is all about sounds. But after using MIUI 10 for some days I think that most of the UI sounds of MIUI 10 (charger connect/disconnect, lock/unlock, etc.) are unpleasant and they were way better in MIUI 9. I personally hate the delete sound from MIUI 10.
So I made this Magisk module that changes the unpleasant MIUI 10 UI sounds to the great MIUI 9 sounds systemlessly.
Changes Made :-
Lock/Unlock sound sounds are changed to MIUI 9 default.
Charger connect/disconnect sounds are different now, but they are from MIUI 10.
SMS delivered sound is shorter and more easy on the ear when you send one SMS after another.
Low battery sound is changed to a pleasant one.
Delete sound is changed to Windows 10's empty recycle bin sound.
Requirements:-
I have tested this module on Redmi Note 5 Pro Indian version Running MIUI 10 Global 8.6.14 Beta (8.1.0 Oreo), but it should work on other MIUI 10 ROM's too. You just need to flash this .zip via Magisk directly.
Future Updates:-
Interested persons can test this module and tell me if it works in their device/ROM or not.
I will update this module if I come across any more annoying sounds in MIUI 10.
Suggestions are appreciated for changing any UI sounds to anything else or if you don't like my choise of new sounds (everyone definitely has their own taste of sounds). Tell me which sound you hate or need me to change and I will try to change that and update the module if you guys want.
I will upload this module to Magisk Repo whenever I get time.
You can also change the sounds yourself by unpacking the module.zip file using any app like WinRAR/WinZip and changing the existing audio file for specific sounds from the directory system/media/audio/ui/ to what you desire. You can even change the sounds which I haven't changed by placing the audio file you want to change in the system/media/audio/ui/ directory.
You just need to remember that the new audio file's name should be same as the one you want to replace from that directory.
The audio files should only be in .ogg format.
You have to repack the files as they are after replacing/adding files without any compression and flash it from magisk.
Hit the thanks button if you appreciate my work.
need battery low sound
and i Personally liked Battery low sound of MIUI10 and wanna set it as a message sound. how can i do that?
Anyway to change this to add the MIUI sounds instead?
There was this module that adds the miui sounds to system over magisk but the template update removed it from repo.

To be clear........ I'm not asking about getting louder volume but rather more volume steps. 15 steps for multimedia volume just isn't enough. I don't want to go down the custom rom route. The only way I can see to get more volume steps at the moment is to downgrade to MM and use Xposed with Gravitybox or something similar.
Is there any way to get more volume steps on Nougat? It would be really nice if Oneplus could implement this into the stock rom as they have with several other "custom rom" types of features.

Looking at AudioService in AOSP repository for Android 7.0 I can see:
https://android.googlesource.com/pl...om/android/server/audio/AudioService.java#624
which means if you are rooted you should be able to edit build.prop to insert config line ro.config.media_vol_steps=X where X is the number of desired volume steps.
I too would like this. When streaming BT audio the jump in volume from one step to the next is way too high.
Maybe Oneplus should change it to something like nexus devices, where you can scroll the volume bar continuously from 100% to 0% without steps...much more practical, especially in cases like an alarm, where even the first step now is quite loud.
Exactly same issue here! I hate it!! Music sounds all stupid and with OnePlus tweaking the sound. The music is not natural like it's supposed to be! Saw it on a video **** sucks! Maybe alot of people can't noticed the difference and I do mean ALOT. But I can! And the few also complaining about this too! No equalizer works properly. Treble too high and the mids are low! Bass not even there. I'm actually using my s7 edge for music because the DAC on oneplus 3T is absolutely horrible

Confirmed to work on a rooted 3t
install magisk and use the module that increases volume steps. You don't need a custom ROM or xposed for this.

tried all the above on lenovo m8 fhd (android 10) best I get is two volume ranges. No one has a fix for this so looks like a custom rom is needed
Hi,
I am about to buy a brand new N7P. But, as it's under andrdoid one, i would like to know if there are the same issues as for others android one phones.
Indeed, i had a xiaomi mi A2 for 2 days, i returned it because the control volume for notification (sms, whatsapp...) cannot be separated with ringtone (when you receive a phone call). It's the same setting, you can only put different the sound for both, but you cannot change the volume separately.
Moreover, even at minimum level of volume, it's was way to loud, really too loud. I tried to change this with third party apps, without success.
Does the Nokia 7 Plus has the same issue as it's under android one ? I did not find any help on the manual we can see on the nokia website
Thanks for your help

Yes the "issue" is present, just one setting for ringtone volume
At the minute this is an Android Problem. However if you're willing to wait for the official Android Pie (9.0) to drop this will fix the issue.
If you can't wait you can always install the beta. But the beta WILL wipe your device
Unlock bootloader
Magisk Root
Xposed systemless + latest 8.1SDK
Ringer & Notification Unlink module from playstore.
And final result:

Thanks for your input, maybe i will try this solution.
But, what about the minimum volume level ? It it possible to set it less loud too ? I mean, the minimum level is, for my preference, too much loud, so can we adjust it more accurately ?
Thanks
For that i saw somewhere another xposed mod - volume steps or similar.
I'm new to the Xiaomi community and I already checked out the mod sections and there's quite alot of them and different versions of an app such as Gcam.
Being new to the 9T pro what adjustments, roms, apps, mods and so on would you suggest for me (and others) to look into or is a must have?
Thanks!
Every device specific mod at the moment requires a very specific rom/vendor image. Currently it's more trouble than it's worth installing a mod. Android 10 kernel source code for miui have yet to be officially released too.
The best imo are:
-Dual Speaker Mod (makes the speaker louder and clearer)
-81hz display overclocking (makes the screen smoother)
-Modded Google camera
-Custom kernel (performance and battery life)
None of the above work for me on Miui 11, except maybe the Google camera. Even on Miui 10 the mods will unlikely work, unless you flash a specific old firmware. In my experience the 6-12+ month mark is when modding becomes stable.

Cool, good to know
Is some release of the google camera working correct? It's quite a big improvement. If so, which version should I get?
From Android 8, 2 and 3 buttons navigation bar are customizable through substratum and overlays (change color, shape, icons)
With adb you can edit the buttons placement, and with apps like tasker you can customize it even more.
What about Android 10? Someone has any clue?
For example, oneplus 7 with oxygenos 10 has an iphone-like bigger pill, so something about it (maybe just the drawable icon) might be editable.
Any suggestions?
Bump for anyone interested:
I found this thread in the Redmi Note 5 section: it uses an addon for Pixel Experience rom and android 10 aosp. The zip is a recovery flashable for that device, so I tried extracting the apk and building a magisk module for pixels.
It works as expected, but it removes the corner padding from statusbar. As fix just run this adb command once (sticks after reboot): "adb shell settings put secure sysui_rounded_content_padding 16"
If someone would like to try this, simply flash the module in the attachments. I take no credit for this, I just converted the zip in magisk module.
P.S: if someone ever found out this other module for immersive gestures (which shows the pill but hides the navbar), I can confirm they work together.
EDIT: Since the apk for the bigger pill is a modified version from the pixel experience rom and not from the official factory images, it doesn't contain the exclusive pixel features, so heads up, it breaks features like "pixel stand connection" and motion sense "reach to check".
Just wanna let you know cause I wasted 2 solid days trying to figure out what was wrong with motion sense and my pixel stand

I can confirm that this works well for me. I'm on Android 10 Havoc 3.3 Redmi 5 plus and everything works perfectly, thank you
I'm looking for a clean custom ROM that has a Sound Assistant included similar to the one with stock MIUI global that let's you control Media Volume individually for different apps.
It's the one feature I missed the most in Anroid since forever and works o.k. in MIUI (still isn't perfect) since I just want to be able to mute a whole bunch of apps.
Here is what I mean with the MIUI Sound Assistant:
MIUI 12 adds a Sound Assistant for controlling media volume from multiple apps
Xiaomi has added a new Sound assistant feature in MIUI 12 that allows users to control volume of media from different apps played simulateneously.
www.xda-developers.com
But even in Xiaomi EU Rom this feature is missing... Just found the option...
Are there any ROMs that have this (or a similar) feature included?
