When i got the phone the other day, it was running Tmo official 7.0. But the bloatware drove me to mod within minutes. I rooted it in short order successfully but since rooting, ive been having issues getting most ROMS to run, except for a few Adzcache had up on Androidfilehost. Those roms seem to be for the g920w8. but at least they boot and run, though only up to 6.0.1. My question is, whether i have an option to get a 7.0 ROM running on this. Any help or input is appreciated. Ive tried many roms, both odin loaded and flashed with twrp. so far only Adzcaches seem to stick. Ideally, I'm looking for a LOS15 ROM if at all possible or this bad boy. Again, thanks for any input in advance.

Dear techwizards and wannabe,
I've been trying to root my phone for a while, I've done it before: both my S II and S III were international variants, and rooting those devices was very simple. But after getting an S IV from America and consensually downloading a samsung issued update -- I had yet to read up on the disadvantages of knox -- my rooting and android experience took a turn for the worse.
Long story short -- I know developers are a proud bunch who value their time -- I tried rooting my phone yesterday after almost smashing my phone on a coffee table. They say it's a well known side effect of Touchwiz, but I'll leave that to you.
I used a towelroot.com root -- a wonderful tool, if I may say so. After that, I visited the CM website and picked out the compatible CM11. I never got to flashing it though, as my problems arose while installing a recovery.
I had downloaded an app, a something recovery or another. They had an option to flash recoveries on there--it would download your recovery for you and do all the work, which seemed plausible as most video tutorials demonstrated. To my astonishment, doing so bricked my phone.
I tracked back, looked for the samsung stock rom, downloaded all 2.2 gb's of it and flashed it. It worked. My phone was functional but I suspect something within it stinks. My device, apparently for security reasons, wont let my wifi or 4g to establish a connection. It's making it impossible for me to fix this problem as I can't root my device or flash a custom rom.
About Device:
Pre problem I was running a:
SGH-I337UCUFNC1 baseband. Build Number ending with: NC1.
Android version: 4.2.2
Post problem:
Baseband: I337UCUFNC1
Build Number: JSS15J.I337UCUEMK2
Android version 4.3.
If I could find my original stock 4.2.2 NC1 version and get simple instructions on how to re-install it back to stock version, I'd be very grateful.
If you know how I could fix the internet issue on the MK2 one, and provide some simple instructions of how to root it, I'd be grateful too.
If you think neither would work, and have something else in mind, Im open to your suggestions.
Much Regards,
Y

Two things:
1. You're posting in the wrong forum, this is the forum for the S4 Active i537, a different phone than the regular S4 i337.
2. The i337 had a locked bootloader that cannot be unlocked. Therefore it is impossible to install a custom recovery other than SafeStrap and it is impossible to install ROMs that are not TouchWiz-based ROMs.
Good luck.
Edit: I solved it by going back to Stock rom, Android 2.2.1 Froyo. It didn't happen anymore, so it must be some software related issue which remained on the phone even after fully wipe including the OS. Now I will just need to root the phone again and flash custom roms on it.
Hi there,
When I bought my Samsung Galaxy S back then it came with Android 2.2 Froyo (or it was Eclair, don't remember), which I updated to 2.3 Gingerbread. Since then I flashed newer Android roms found on this forum. I never had any problems. So I had ICS (various versions), JB (various versions) and KitKat (I think I was on 4.4.0 and later on 4.4.4)
So up to Android KitKat 4.4.0 I used it on daily basis but after I got a new phone I didn't use it much anymore (I would only turn it on to make sure the battery won't die). But recently I turned it on, I can do things on the phone but when I leave the phone on standby it would eventually reboot on its own.
I tried installing an older version of KitKat. I picked one from an older date, which happened to be 4.4.2. The same issue happens there too. I just installed Android 6.0.1. made by Full Advance. and the issue happens there too.
My phone has an SD card inserted but no SimCard, anything else you need to know just ask.
I would like to keep Android 6.0.1 from Full Advance. It seems a fast and stable rom. It feels faster than the KitKat 4.4.4 I had.
I would be glad if the issue on the self reboot would be solved. I want to use this phone as a MP3 player. I really like AudioFX.
Any help appreciated, thanks!
I bought a Note 4 last week and have been excited to get it up and running. However, I haven't had any luck finding a ROM that will encrypt. I've tried (and love) OvrDriVE's MM, N5 port, and v7.1.1, as well as a few of the debloated stock ROMs, N5 Express, CM 13, and CMremix.
I tried encrypting through adb shell w/proper commands. No luck. I'm not sure if it's a kernel issue or what. I also tried to go back to ANK4 to try encryption with FireKat, but I'm unable to flash stock ANK4 over DOK2.
I flashed OEM DOK2 and was able to encrypt, but then I can't have a custom recovery or even root. I'm banging my head against the wall, hence my post and request for advice! I need encryption for work, and I would really love to enjoy one of the dev's ROMs instead of running stock. Do you guys have any ideas for me, perhaps DOK2 ROMs that you know will encrypt?
Hi. I am struggling with the same issue. Have you found the reason yet? I love the phone and with 7.1 and encryption it could stay for the next years in one of my hands. Cheers
So I've been out of the game for so long. Just lurking here and there but not much motivation to dive in again. I've always read and researched before trying anything. Anyways, I successfully rooted my tombola note 4 after I had received the stock July security mm update which I guess also updated the bootloader and modem. Prior to doing anything I installed 12.1 and the gaps. Everything was working fine after a clean flash. Got home and notice the WiFi toggle was taking forever to load or crash completely but never actually connecting. I then read and dub through pages on the cm remix page and saw people talking about downgrading the bootloader to epe3. My confusion is. I want to eun an aoso rom. I have my headaches with tw. Is it absolutely necessary to downgrade the bootloader AND modem to epe3 from latest or is there go g to be a fix in the future as roms get updated. Also can I used mobile Odin to do this. I only have a mac available and was only able to Odin to install twrp at my work pc which I shouldn't have used . Any help would be appreciated.

If you have a T3, then probably you are out of luck and won't be able to downgrade your bootloader.
For now, you would need to stick with TW MM roms only if you need a working wifi., and just wait till CM is supported by new EPG2 bootloader.

I'm on the other model. I found out I can use flash fire but the settings don't always stick. I'll just wait until the devs update to include the new bootloader. For now I can use cm 12.1 . I really despise tw . I only got the note 4 for price and rooting ability. I got it prowled for cheap. Plus removable battery and SD card.

According to fattire theres not likely going to be any further support for the Note 4 unless someone else steps up. Especially the way the binaries are set up would take a lot of work to get to play nicely with CM and AOSP ROMs.
Is there literally nothing for this? I've got the method to downgrade to 4.1.1 but that only yields root apparently. No custom roms or anything.
Is there anything available for this tablet or remarkable about being on 4.1.1 I've searched both on all boards here on Tab S2 and it seems useless.
Aside from that, is there any way to unlock the simcard slot?
I apologize for the questions but it's looking like the tab may as well stay on 6.0.1.
Thanks for comments and advice, and yes, I've searched up and down (T817T all boards, etc.)
You have got to search and read through a bit more.
I only got this tablet (a used one of course) only 2 days back, so others may be able to help you more.
For me I just rooted the tablet and installed some xposed modules. For my need with the tablet, I don't need anything else.
Unlocking simcard slot has to be done from tmobile. I am not aware of any hacks available in xda.
You can install twrp and root the device if you want. T810/T815 they uses the same chipset. The information I have gathered so far indicate that you can install aosp roms for those models, but you shall not get cellular connectivity. Any chance of having official Nougat on this tablet is very very slim. There are some aosp 7.0 roms, but they are in early developmental stage; things like fingerprint sensor won't work.
Anyone feel free to correct me if I am wrong on any of the things I mentioned.
I no longer have tmobile.
Could I flash the t810 firmware onto the t817 tab s2? This way I could get the updates straight from Samsung.
I was only able to get one ROM to work on mine. Ultimately, I gave up and just kept it stock.

I'm also frustrated with the T817T. I have been able to root it, flash TWRP, but I have never been able to flash a custom ROM. I have heard that the T815 ROMs should work, but I get an error in TWRP if I try to flash one.
I was reading something in the Note 10.1 2014 forum that you could flash the P605 (International) ROM to the P607T (T-Mobile) if you unzipped the ROM, removed the modem files, and rezipped it. I'm wondering if something like this would work for the T817T as well.
If anyone has any ideas how to do this, please respond here.
