i suggest uninstalling update in the samsung theme app and clear cache and data then setup the app again. when you set aod, after that, start from themes and apply the aod you want. first long press the theme app, then 3 upper right dots, then uninstall update, then in same window after uninstalling update, go in storage clear data and cache, close it. restart device, then open theme app and setup again. if all fails, then do a master reset called FDR and remember if you do that, you will lose data, make sure you do a backup first. good luck.

So I flashed the zip asop provided for the new market then I instantly got a force close error when I started my phone. So I used root explorer to delete the apk. I flashed the old gapps back. But I'm STILL getting the force close error and my market won't open. I thought flashing the old gapps would fix it but it didn't
I want to avoid nanding back.
Nevermind I found a fix.
Go into settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> All tab, scroll down and click on market, then hit clear data.
That should reset the market app, when you open it again it should review the terms and conditions.

I reset my phone to factory setting and now I am missing a couple apps. The 2 that I notice are the Market app and my GMail app. I've done a lot of research and can't figure out how to return these two apps. Anyone have any suggestions?

Market's website lol.. From your pc (or even using the browser on your phone)
Cmon Tru
yeah i tried that... no go. and the android market pushes to the market app..
no downloads that i see!...???
quote from android market downloading issues FAQ:
Android Market disappearing after Android 2.2 Update We're receiving reports from some users that the Android Market app is disappearing after receiving the Android 2.2 update. We're working with carriers and device manufacturers to resolve the issue and restore your access to Android Market.
In the meantime, if you'd like to resolve the issue immediately, we recommend performing a factory data reset on your device. Please note that this will reset your device to its original state, and while your media content (photos, music, etc.) will not be deleted from the SD card, applications and their related data will be uninstalled. To perform a factory reset:
Go to Home > Menu > Settings > Privacy
Press "Factory data reset"
Press "Reset phone"
Your phone will restart, and after everything resets you'll be able to access Android Market again. Note that in some devices the "Factory data reset" option may be located under a different menu item, such as Phone Storage.

You'll need Root Explorer to do that.
And you'll need root, like TRus mentioned.

Or if you have ADB, you could extract the market and gmail .apk's and adb install them to your phone.
Good luck!

yes it is rooted. I dont know what adb is, can you explain? I'll do some research also.

that first guide is by me so hit the thanks...
or get a root file explorer program off the market for free,
get the app "SGS Tools" use it to "run script" > mount system RW
drop the apps in /system/apps/ with your explorer app
use "SGS Tools" again to "run script" > mount system RO
or buy the app root explorer. it has the RW RO button built in. so no run script....
or flash a custom rom..
or try a factory reset again...
^ A simple reflash of the ROM cleared up the problem of the missing apps for me.
Went from GR-12 to Subpression 3 and had the missin app problem...reflashed Subpression 3 and was good to go and then updated to 3.2 and no problems there either.
edit: I realize the OP said they reset their phone to factory settings, but I thought I'd leave my post anyway just incase someone flashed a custom ROM and experienced this problem.
I just had this issue after installing a theme and simply extracted the GR12 files on my SD card and installed the Market and vending apks.
So here's my problem. I successfully flashed my Galaxy S GT-I9000 to ICS Infinitum but I have a problem. I tried installing apps which is root required but my phone says I need to root my phone in order to use that app but when I check, I have superuser access. I can't even see my sim contacts. And I tried disabling 2g but 3g won't come up. How will I fix this? I wanted to post this to Infinitum thread but system won't allow me because I'm a newbie. Please help

EDIT: Thank you. I have my 3g working now And with the root problem, I went to superuser preferences and allow it always. Thanks dude! Is there a way to go back to my old gallery? I like the 3d gallery.
I had a bug on CM9 where Superuser permissions wouldn't pop up, going into superuser and changing the setting to automatically allow worked, but I don't recommend doing this for obvious security reasons.

Did you find something weird about the camera? I think mine is a little bit dark. And yes I know about that superuser permission. But the thing is, you wouldn't install that app if you don't want it to be allowed right? Of course you always allow those apps that you want to install that's why I set it to 'always allow'
EDIT: Is there a way to set my notification tone and ringing tone?
Funny. Can't even send a message. Can't add recipients. Tch
Make "Fix permissions" in the recovery.

Good to hear that is working now!=)
If you mean Android's stock gallery, I attach it. Download it to your sdcard.
Download File Manager (Rhytm Software).
Then open it-->settings-->scroll--->check root explorer-->click yes--->check Mount system folders.
Now copy that .apk to system/app and reboot.

Hi,
I have a notification saying "10.1.A.1.434 New system update available". How to remove this from my notification area?
Its there for some days now. I tried tapping on it to open the system update app, clear, swipe it left & right, tried connecting to PC suite, tried rebooting. And the notification still remains. Please advise. My phone have a unlocked bootloader and is rooted
How about clicking on the "clear" button? or swiping that notification to the left/right?

Android application package file (APK) is the file format used to distribute and install application software and middleware onto Google's Android operating system.
Removing it will make the notification update disappear and the software update below about phone will be gone as well.
1) Go download Titanium Backup
2) Go into the app, scroll down till you find "UpdateCenter.apk"
3) Backup the app, and then remove it.
4) Reboot your phone.

Thanks, that did the trick... Does this affect my other apps from play store. Like, Wont they update themselves (manually/automatically)?
Actually, you can remove it by opening the notification/status bar ( slide from top to bottom ), then open app info and force stop.
The notification will not appear again until the next reboot. You just have to do it once after every reboot.

thats the playstore, i dont think they are related.
For anyone who is interested, the service to stop, freeze, or remove is Google Services Framework.
I just did it - go to Settings / Apps / All and scroll down to Update Center. Remove the Show notifications tick and confirm. That's it!
Just freeze 'System update' from titanium backup (or similar apps).
This is the only %100 solution.
Is it safe to uninstall Software update app, guys? I have only basic Titanium Backup on my rooted Z, so there is no freeze option for me. I've removed some of Sony bloatwear (What's New etc.), and lately there is notification about available updates after every reboot. Force stop solves the issue temporarily, and Show_notification box is uncheckable. In my view, this app shouldn't have any major purpose left, since OTA updates are archived for us... Cheers.

Hi,
If I may please humbly request a bit of help from anyone who might have an answer, I would greatly appreciate it!!!
I am Rooted and running Marshmallow 6.0.1 and my problem is that when I use the "System App Remover" that I have used to Uninstall Bloatware from all of my devices, the app(s) I try to Uninstall will either:
Fail to Uninstall
Or...
Will Uninstall, but then immediately Reinstall themselves!
I'm just talking about normal Bloatware, like Facebook, Amazon, Flipboard, etc.. Nothing extraordinary.
Does anyone have any idea why this is happening and what I can do to get the Bloatware off of my phone, please???
Thank You!

After uninstalling apps they go temporory to recycle bin you must go to recycle bin in system app remover options and delete again all apps there then reboot.

That is trues, but only if you have "AutoBackup" on in the Settings. I have it Disabled.
Also, just as a kindly FYI:
I set it up the same way as I always do and I've never had this problem (good catch on mentioning the setting though, thanks!).
I failed to mention (Sorry! My bad!) that when the apps reinstall, it's not after a reboot, or even after a little while. It's immediate! I mean, you haven't even counted to 3 yet and the message saying that it/they have reinstalled shows and the apps are there again.
Thank you for such a quick response! If you think of anything else, please let me know and thank you again!

Another things to look out for is the "Preloadinstaller.apk" file. Mine is located in "/system/app/Preloadinstaller/Preloadinstaller.apk." I suspect yours will be in the same place. Mine has been modified so that it doesn't reinstall bloatware once it has been removed. Some people simply delete that file. I haven't tried deleting it myself though because every time I delete something from the /system directory my systemui starts to crash. Instead, I just freeze bloatware. They are still in my rom but they don't load into ram, they don't update, and they don't try to reinstall. Good luck
