Hi guys, what is the best way to migrate all my data/media from galaxy s8 to p20 pro?
Best way is to keep your Galaxy S8 and sell the P20 Pro. xD

I use the phone clone app from Huawei. It should do all the work for you.
Does it preserve photo/videos original date ?

This plus if it's a lot of data like mine was I'd use the type c connector that Samsung has and connect a 3.0 USB at the end of it. Copy/paste it to the P20 Pro
Saves a lot of time

You mean the date when it was taken? Yes, it basically copy everything that can possible copy to your phone. I do that with my s9 to p20 pro, somehow it also include some of samsung app too....
The P20 Pro is a great phone but lacks in optimization. If they software was polished then it would be one of the best to own. There are bugs affecting daily usage and some people are experiencing Multi random restarts a day. Just be aware of this before buying this phone. These iasues might get fixed with future updates but can you put up with these issues

I'd agree with this summary coming moving from an s9+. The migration went really well using the Huawei clone utility. However the frequent reboots are just getting annoying and I may be switching back.
I don't know what you're doing but I've never had a random reboot on stock rom and I haven't heard anything of the 100+ users in telegram before. GSIs, yes, but not with stock rom here.

Most likely some of your app not compatible with p20 pro, the cpu on p20 pro is different from s9. The huawei clone app is actaully copy every possible app to your phone. you may want to check if some of your apps run in background and crash your phone that cause reboot. Most likely either some of your samsung app keep running at the background, or the huawei's kirin cpu is not compatible with some of your old apps
I have moved fron S8 Duso (Eynons CPU) to P20 Pro. And I'm heavy user. Just to tell you the P20 Pro us much more better then S8, in all aspects. For me it is a big step from S8 and S9.
If you are a gamer, then wait update for P20 Pro to bring GPU Turbo, it will make phone much more better GPU then even newer SD845.
But, everyone's buy what it want.

I have just went from the S8+ to the X2 Pro and I was surprised how much the X2 Pro is advanced if you compare to it to the S8+ .... loading times, installing apps, GPS catch, network, wifi retention, don't want to talk about the autonomy or the screen on time.... it's just another world. You can switch to the X2 Pro without hesitation. :good:
Thanks mate. So decision is simply. Time to upgrade.

I also would say go for it , this phone is really great. i have the chinese version and i love it (just takes some extra adb commands and patience to work well in the usa). if you can get the global id say grab it and enjoy !!!
I'm in the same situation, I am currently using a Sony XZ Premium. Also, can any users confirm that it supports Netflix
Oneplus One X Realme X2 Pro?
Hello guys, I have a Oneplus One and I have been very happy with it during these 5 years, mostly because of the support it has at software level (many custom ROMs are available for it), but now it is old and it gives me some performance errors. So that I want to upgrade my phone and I have seen this Realme X2 pro pretty interesting, however I am hesitating if this phone will have as much support as Oneplus brand, because I want it to last a lot and I think this is only got thanks to the community.
Do you think this phone will have a big community behind? I would like to flash it with an AOSP custom ROM sometime.

Hello people,
I am thinking of buying this phone as currently this is the perfect all round phone for the price. But, I see there is no development for it on XDA can anyone tell why so? Because I always use custom ROMs on my phone as I don't like this skinned versions. This is a big set back for me. Can anyone tell if there ever will be any development for this phone?
Thank you

I have had the phone for a few weeks and it is fantastic. 90hz is great and the fast charging is a life saver. The OS is pretty decent and I'm done with all the bugs of custom ROMs. Could be better but totally good enough.

Sadly the main reason is that released sources are messy and not easily usable for custom rom building.
Luckily all phones released with Android 8+ have a separate vendor partition compatible with treble, a new way of updating the smartphone imposed by Google. This means you would be able to install any rom you want that was build as a generic GSI image.
I got this phone instead of a Xiaomi because the hardware is just so good, and I don't regret my choice. Also the software is not as bad as people say, of course it's not barebone Android but realme os should make it even better.

I was too, but a couple of my friends have it and it broke in no time, I got scared it would be fragile.
I also got this for only 40€ more than the mi9t pro, and I would gladly take the 50W charging and the 90Hz over the popup

Yes, that's true
I was looking at the k20 pro,mi note 10 and this and went for the X2 pro simply because of the value for money,
90 hz
12gb ram
256gb ufs 3.0
50 watt charging,
People say downside is colorOs and yes it is not as good as other OS like Oxygen Is which I came from.
But it is not terrible at all and perfectly good in most areas,
RealmeUI is coming though and it looks impressive giving all things you would want in a feature rich OS from AOD to edge lighting,Im really excited for it.
If ROM support is really that important to you then I guess go with a 7T but for those who are not too pushed the X2 is perfect

Woah woah dude, calm down. I follow Zack and see all of his reviews, I'm a phone fanatic and check out any news in the phone department.
Before this phone I had 2 different Xiaomi phones, I was valuating another one before getting this. I'm not attached to any brand or anything.
I'm just telling what happened to a couple of my friends, if you don't believe me I'll get photos of their phones but I don't see the point. I couldn't care less of what other people buy, the op just asked a question and I shared my experience.

Yeah, it is value for money for sure. These companies are not like Apple that they will give software updates for 3-4 years, they suddenly drop support that's what I am afraid of.
That's why ROM development is very important for me I always want to use the latest Android. 7T is out of budget so I may opt for K20 Pro.

I think people will refrain from unlocking and flashing because it breaks the FOD.
That is what made me go for the k20 because if you are a flashaholic like me, custom development is what matters the most.
I have suffered with my first phone with no development, the Coolpad Note 3. When new it seems nice but as time passes by with no updates. It gets very hard to deal with repeated factory resets, which is the only way left.
So all the rest of my phones that I bought had some of the best development teams...even till date.
Zuk z2
Poco f1
K20 pro/mi9t pro
So if you want to taste custom roms, you have to go the k20 way, but beware the FOD (Fingerprint Scanner) on custom roms on the K20 Pro aren't flawless byt still work with workarounds, including widewine L1 support.
Support is really poor and updates come later.
I like my X2 Pro but it is clear it is not a top range also because of this.
Honestly i think about spend my money for my next phone in Realme phones (except minor phones, maybe mostly supported).

This is not true,I bought the phone at Christmas and have had one update a month with latest security patch.
It has been known now for some time that Android 10 and realmeUI was coming in March so I don't know why people are complaining,
Software support has been on point and no promises were broken

I am referring to relevant updates, if you are happy because of having one update at month without real improvements, you are welcome.
We know about the "promise" of Realme about March update, but the reality is that Realme is slower than other brand, mostly with its top phone.
I don't understand, instead, why people accept everything and prefer to say that his phone is fantastic rather than underline failings, just because has got this phone.

The quality of the updates have been decent. No real bugs with the software for most people, though have seen some people complain about minor things that they experience but I think most of us knew colorOs wasn't going to be perfect,
Another update just released today, this is better than most manufacturers,OnePlus for example only give Bi monthly and their releaselog is pretty pathetic at times mentioning improvements to weather app and unknown bug fixes.
Realme is definitely not slower than other brands,it's one of the quickest in actual fact and I for one don't feel at all like I'm accepting everything just because I own the phone,
I'm happy and looking forward to RealmeUI

May I ask why ?
I am totally happy with my mediatek redmi note 9
In part it may be on me not using it properly. You say your model is "Mediatek", is this the same as my phone? I'm also having difficulty rooting my phone, It would seem you have to get past MIUI, so there is that. Yes, a bit lost at the moment

Note 9 pro uses snapdragon 720G. Note 9 uses mediatek.
I'm very happy happy with my my note 9 pro. And for the moment I don't see the need of change rom. The other day it updated to miui 12, based on android 11, and goes well.
Oh good to know re: snapdragon and mediatek. That's terrific you guys are liking your appliances right out of the box. I'd love to hear from others who are not so pleased and what they've done. I keep wanting to pull down from the top to see my controls and of course they don't show up. Is this me or is it MIUI ergonomics? Thank you for your responses. I'll see what I can do to change things.
What is the problem with rooting?
oh hi 171, are you asking me? Or just putting this out there? Nothing is wrong with rooting IMO, although I find it as difficult as collecting hens teeth, because there is so much information and it's hard to keep it straight, and it varies sometimes between builds, and between phones.
Hello, everyone. I'm hoping to join the redmi note 10 pro community very soon. However, I'm really confused whether I should invest in it because most of the reviews on Youtube are saying that there is always bugs. I was just wondering if any of you could tell me whether most of the bugs have been fixed by now. I just want to know if it is at least usable. It's got literally every feature I want. All I need to know is how is the software holding up. I've seen that even the Redmi note 10 is more stable than note 10 pro. I really hope that's not true.
Thanks in advance.
In my experience with it, which would be a few weeks now... I have not had any problems with it, as I am not what you would describe as a "power user".
All basic features which you would expect a mid-range smartphone to have, work perfectly.
This is all from my experiences, and my opinion. Hopefully someone else on here can also comment their thoughts.
I bought it one week ago: Only really bad thing is the AOD (better: NOT always on display). Furthermore, I didn't mention a single bug till now. So if you can deal without a AOD (there is a hack around, but it will suffer much from battery), buy it, really nothing wrong with it.

If you use your phone to connect to your car then please DO NOT BUY this phone. Android Auto does not work, irrespective of which region ROM you flash ,Seems to be an issue with the MIUI 12.5 and i am hoping this to be resolved with Android 12, but its JUST a hope.
Buy only if you're going to flash custom ROMs. Otherwise samsung can be a better alternative.

I'm glad to hear that! I have watched many reviews, especially the ones after 60 days or 120 days and literally everyone said they faced this bug or that bug. The bugs itself are not always same but there is always bugs.
Anyway, I might actually end up buying it!
what about the proximity sensor issue ? Is it fixed when using custom roms ?

Plenty of nice ROM depends of what you want.

Not for me sadly, very buggy in WhatsApp with AOSP Extended,
I think this is the most popular mid-range phone going around. Its reviews are great. I had Redmi Note 10 which was a budget masterpiece, had an insane battery life. This one surely will be better overall as its the pro model. I think in its budget this one is worth it.
So, long story short, my old OnePlus 6 fell from my pocket and broke, in one unlucky accident. I've decided to "upgrade myself" and go for a more recent model. I'm used to flash custom ROMs and try many of them until I find one that suits my needs and that's pretty stable.
I wanted to buy the OnePlus 10 Pro but it's my understanding that you can "just" root it? I haven't followed the Oppo drama lately so I don't know if it comes from the fact that the phone has been released "recently" or they locked things similarly to Huawei.

There's no lock it has to do with the msm recovery tool. Since oneplus now charges for it to be used developer's don't want to touch newer phones.

Personally the 10 Pro has been really great for me, but I don't ROM hop anymore. I'm satisfied with the feature set of OOS plus basic root stuff. What are the main features in custom ROMs that get you to not use OOS?

I don't know about about OOS13 but I remember LineageOS performing way better than OOS11 in battery and loading times.
Gotcha. Last time I ran LOS was way back in the Android 4-6 period. I have only ever run OOS since the 3T did everything I wanted. I've managed to squeeze out 9 hours SOT on my 10 Pro (mind you, I wasn't gaming or anything like that, just basic web browsing, YouTube and messaging), and everything is very quick for my tastes. YMMV of course
