My Moto G5S+ is from official Czech distribution. Currently running Android 7.1.1 version NPSS26.116-26-14 with the April 2018 security patch.
I need an equalizer where I can manually adjust the frequencies - most phones offer that. But this phone doesn't. I can only select a handful of presets that don't satisfy me.
I tried using 3rd party solution but unfortunately, there is a bug where you get a max volume spike at the beginning of playback if you use a 3rd party equalizer.
So my question is, is there a way to get an adjustable equalizer? I don't want to flash unofficial ROMs but if that's the only solution I'll have to do it. Is it possible that other regions have a proper equalizer?

Hi!
I've extensively googled, reddited and searched on XDA, but haven't found an answer.
Are there ROMs supporting the "voice anywhere"-feature (the sound processor of the Moto X) to be activated even with an activated lockscreen/handsfree?
I've setup my room with Philips Hue Lights and various interactions with other devices via tasker and all is controlled via the "Moto Voice/Auto Voice" feature.
I'm unrooted yet but would like to switch to a custom rom now, but haven't found anything conclusive whether the devs were able to implement the always-listening function.
Alas I think I can say for sure it doesn't exist ..there's one for the 1st gen so maybe there is hope
The ones for 2013 are only modified stock not aosp. Far as I know the moto specific features like touch less controls and active display or whatever they call them now are not open source this you will not find them on anything but stock

Good news for Stock Motorola devices.
The newest moto apps are available and most of them work with Lux on Nougat.
The link to the files:

The link to the forum post is here.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-z-play/themes/app-update-moto-display-contacts-icons-t3739140
My experience:
NOTE: I am on stock nougat build with custom Squid R22c kernel.
The following apps worked:
1. Contacts: I don't know why will it not!
2. FM Radio: Though I didn't see any significant changes yet.
3. Moto Display: This app is smooth! Except the landscape thing people are talking about, notification dots work. The LCD back-light fade in and out looks better with this version. No more abrupt brightness changes. The trigger is also better, even better than the original moto display back in the marshmallow days IMO. I rate it a 5/5 in my daily usage.
4. File Manager: Yes, it worked but no I didn't use it because I have solid explorer purchased.
5. Moto App launcher: The homescreen has no bugs but the google now feed doesn't work. (Just use the pixel launcher port, they're mostly similiar)
What crashed:
1. Moto App: It installed sucessfully but said device unsupported.
2. Camera: It didn't install on my device.
N.B. Strangely the moto display failed(Installed well but broke the lock button) on a Moto E4 plus on Mediatek SoC. The previous APK from the moto X4 did work well with it.
Does it have to be a stock ROM? And not maybe LineageOS?
How did you activate it?

I tested them on a stock ROM, it just replaced the stock moto apps.
As I think lineage OS doesn't natively support moto ennhancements, It may not work. But can you bring the attention of this to the developers? They might be able to port it to other Lineage Based ROMs.

tried it, didn't work. its a small feature we can live without. looking forward for a stable oreo :cyclops::fingers-crossed:
So I bought the 3 GB variant of Zenfone Max Pro and to cut the long story short, recently updated to firmware Ver 309 which was released on 14/06/2018. The phone was never rooted.
Asus clearly did not apply itself to the software of the phone which had too many bugs. Anyways, they as an after thought made an effort to rectify them but each update brought a set of new bugs. The Process has been very frustrating to say the least. Anyways, they have a user feedback fourm called Zentalk .
I thought, I would let the know of the new bugs which came to the fore after the recent update which are :
1) Double Tap to wake no longer works
2) Equalizer setting has been deleted and is not available in Google play or any third party app.
3) Now you can't zoom while using portrait mode in rear camera
4) Jump to camera functionality has been removed from gestures
5) Issues with multi touch ( told them to work on them/June Security update)
6) Told them to provide Slow motion and EIS which they talked about during launch
7) Told them to to enable Camera2API, since the native camera app is beyond crap.
Volte not working

1. Dt2w/dt2s works perfectly for me on 309. Just try switching dt2w off and on in settings, then it might work.
2. Never used equaliser earlier. Never even realised it existed.
3. Most of the mobiles don't allow to zoom in during portrait shots. Moreover digital is practically nothing but a cropped image.
4. I never had jump to camera functionality.
5. June security patch will correct it have patience.
6. Too waiting for slow motion. EIS is already there , if you want more stabilization download nokia 8 camera app , it doesn't require root.
7. CAMERA2API will never be enabled , don't wait for it its better to root instead.
Few more problems and requirements are there like
* No support for LIVE WALLPAPERS.
* Sound is very low through wired and wireless earphones.
* Navigation gestures ( though I am use xda nav bar app).

Even my new imei is not getting registered. I tried with another mobile. Imei for that got registered. But not for this mobile alone
The only bug i encountered is MusicFX being removed after the update, other than that the phone's perfectly fine.
Hello,
I can't find moto actions on my Moto Edge 20 with LineageOS 19.1 official, and I can't install it from the play store neither, since it claims that it is not compatible with my device.
I was used to have it under settings on other Motorola phones and previous versions of LineageOS.
Is this something expected on this build or model?
Thanks in advance.
Moto Actions needs to be ported and made compatible by the maker of the rom. LoS official doesn't ship with any OEM proprietary feature from what I can tell. Sometimes unofficial builds of LOS have proprietary features integrated, but not the official one.
Thanks, it's clear now.
However, I got the manufacturer's Moto Camera App bundled with LineageOS image (com.motorola.camera3).
Do you know if there is any way to install the manufacturer Moto Actions App available on the Play Store?
Thanks again.
It depends on the device I guess. For example, on my old OnePlus3, LoS came with the regular LoS camera (which was god awful btw) instead of the OnePlus camera. On my Sony XZ1 Compact, the maker of the unofficial port of LoS managed to integrate the Sony camera and all of its libraries so it worked just as well as on the stock rom, unfortunately they were only compatible with Android 10 but not Android 11, so for the build of LoS on Android 11, the stock camera had to be removed and it came with the crappy LoS Camera.
When it comes to these proprietary features, it all depends on the maker of the rom and the compatibility of stock libraries with LoS, just like the example above with the Camera. As for the possibility of integrating Moto into LoS, you'd have to ask the LoS devs because to control system level features like gestures and so on it requires system libraries to be ported and integrated into LoS.
This past weekend I installed LineageOS 20 on my recent P7.
After solving some doubts, such as installing the stock pixel camera simply by installing it from the play store, I have several more doubts that have yet to be resolved:
1. One of the reasons why I installed LineageOS was for the native recording of calls, something very important to me and that I missed from my Xiaomi phones with xiaomi.eu rom. However, do you know if there is a way that it can be set to record all calls BY DEFAULT? Currently you have to activate it in each call you make with the phone.
2. For my taste, the launcher is missing a couple of details that could be corrected with Nova. I want to take advantage of the fact that the launcher respects privacy and keep the one that Lineage brings. However, I miss being able to better manage and manipulate the widgets and being able to expand the app grid from the maximum allowed, which is 6x6. Do you know if there is any way to improve these two aspects with the launcher that Lineage brings or any other open source launcher?
Thanks in advance !
Lawnchair.
There's also OpenLauncher but I haven't tried it personally.

Lawnchair 12.1 is in alpha state, missing some essential stuff when I was testing it last week. Lawnchair 2 is outdated and sometimes buggy. That's why I use Nova Premium (bought it like 300 years ago when it was just 2 bucks). When Lawnchair 12 is in beta or RC I will surely give it another try. Sadly Rootless Launcher is not up to date anymore, and so is Ruthless Launcher. Posidon Launcher looked promising, such as Hyperion Launcher, but they did not fill my needs.

Maybe chat with the guys here to see if you can mod the dialer APK for your needs. Could be a simple code edit that fits for you.

Yeah, same. I bought Nova Premium 300 years ago for cheap when it was discounted too. I'm still using it until today (Android 13) because it has many customization. Nova is one of the apps that worth to purchase.
@danicosas if you concerned about privacy, I think you can disable usage statistics/error reporting in Nova launcher.

Yes, I also have a paid Nova and I have used it for many years on my Xiaomi phones.
Now I am in a slow but continuous process, to go little by little to a mobile phone with the greatest possible privacy.
The first thing I have sacrificed has been any proprietary launcher, and the one chosen to replace all of them has been Lawnchair v2.
For now, it meets all my needs.
Disable statistics/error reporting isn't enough for Nova to not trying reach out. Whenever Nova settings app is opened, it connects to 45.56.71.66 for no reason. Need to block internet connections for Nova settings app in LineageOS firewall or AFWall+ (root). This is how I use Nova. 0byte received or sent. 0 DNS requests so far. Quite good for privacy without compromises.

Using a packet sniffer I can't reproduce the scenario.
I doubt that but can't never be sure in this world. My version of Nova installed is latest, dated to December 2021, and Prime license app is even older, and that article has been posted in July 2022. No matter for me and I don't see things as a privacy threats as long as all outgoing and unnecessary DNS requests or IP addresses are blocked, and everything works. I'm fine. I decide per app basis. It would be wonderful if I knew the purpose of contacting this address, and decide to let it pass rather than strictly block all outgoing connections for everything and then check logs and make actions but a bit of transparency is too much to ask for.
I've installed and tested Lawnchair v2 for testing yesterday and whenever you open the "About" tab, it trying to reach github 185.199.111.133. In this case it's easy to track - it trying to get all info about developers, icons, then why not allow it or just keep blocking and not creating extra unnecessary firewall rule. If you ask me, it would be better if this was hard coded into app for 1MB more app size.
