Concatonated SMSs

Hello all,
I've just receevided my 2nd hand Touch Diamond. It was sourced from HK, and have upgraded it to what I think it the latest official build for that region (1.93.831.1 WWE).
I seem to be having a problem send SMS messages greater that 160 characters. Has anyone seen this before? Can I fix it?

Upgraded from a Wizard , trying to transfer SMS

Hi guys ,
I was using a HTC Wizard ( and never thought I would upgrade , thats one wicked device ) , but stumbled upon a good deal on a HTC Diamond , so here I am .
My Wizard was running on WM 6.1 and the Diamond has got WM 6.5 .
I have a lot ( 4000+ ) SMS on my wizard , and I've been trying to get them onto my diamond , but absolutely no luck. I've tried PIMbackup and SMSbackup , both softwares take an eternity ( I guess I cant complain with 4000+ texts ) but nothing seem to happen once it is done .
I really want to get the texts transfered . Any suggestions ?

You might need to clean-up some of the texts - I am sure 4000 SMS messages will contain a lot of chaff.
It might be a laborious process - but hey. It's a solution. PIMBackup might be choking.

You could try Jeyo Mobile Companion, I don't have that much SMS..lol.....but it works great.
It's not free.

[Help!] Bad SMS encoding

hello all! i am from china.
i am please to use android in the Vogue, it works very good but except one thing: can't send and rcv SMS with chinese(sms with en is ok), it shows content as: BAD SMS ENCODING.
pls kindly help to resolve this problem!

What rom, and I think that it's probable that the rom doesn't have the right localization for chinese.

both myn and eclair rom have the same problem.

It has nothing to do with the build that you're running. I'm not sure why someone would think it would.
This needs to be updated in the ril for your provider. You'll need to first supply radio logs from windows mobile of sending/receiving and txt. Than in android the same.

Chinese SMS use PDU 8-bit UCS-2
English SMS use text 7-bit ascii
maybe rebuild mms.apk

another question is:
in china(maybe in india also), we use UIM as userID.how can we use cave for EVDO AAA。

i can receive and send Korean txts on Windows Mobile 6.1, but failed on Android and Windows Mobile 6.5. When I receive Korean txts, it says bad sms encoding. I tried to send Korean txt to my phone, and got weird letters. Same thing happens on WinMo 6.5........ OHH, im a Verizon user.

problem with access to sms

Hello to Everybody,
i have a real problem in relation with a lot of italians cooked rom (WM6.5) which i downloaded on my Topaz. When i'm texting more then 15 sms, at the beginning of the 16st, the sms panel is too slow and the keypad starts writing number at places of letters. If possible, i prefer to use the original keypad. My sim card allow at maximum 5o sms text. All the rom i'm using are italians but i know that on your exceptional forum i can find someting that can help me with this problem (for example one cab fix,). Someone can help me?

There are SMS fixes depending on what device your ROM base is from.
Do you know if your ROM is LEO or Topaz based?

sms with arabic not showing just blocks

hi ,
my samsung galaxy s is not showing the arabic sms when its send mixed with english sms ,,i mean some words are in arabic which in the sms show as blocks ooooo ,ooooo like ,,this is there any way of fixing this so that it reads the arabic ,, ive tried arabic sms reader for market but no luck

Are you using a rom that has arabic support? That may be the problem

no i am using the same rom as came with the phone origonaly ,i ve got it on orange contract .
is there any other way of seeing the arabic sms ,,cause just got them occasionally ,,just couple of sms per year ,,any oher suggestions

Sadly you need to install a rom with arabic. Its probably not worth the effort as you will likely break your phone if you don't know what you are doing just for a few sms a year.
