Hey guys, has anyone on an International SM-N950F received a security update later than 1st August 2017 yet?
I'm not talking about the US or Snapdragon models!

Nope, no one in the EU has till now.
Yeah, didn't think so. I've been Tweeting @Samsungmobile and @SamsunghelpUK but they don't even bother themselves to respond.
Samsung rolled today the BQK6 out for the N950F. It should arrive also for other regions shortly.
both my 950f unlocked models are still on august 1st security patch, don't see the big deal about it though

Hi, the big deal is that your phone is vulnerable to the KRACK and Blueborne exploits and is therefore insecure.
Indian version SM-N950FD has received November security patch today morning.

I've updated mine using this method earlier today, thanks!
SPAIN. No update so far
Still on Aug patch.
Still waiting....
Still on August as well.
I'm new to Samsung so the CSC has me a little confused. I'm in Canada but have the International version N950F/D. My CSC is reported as CHO/CHO/BRI. Since the update was released to BRI already, shouldn't I have gotten it or do I need to wait until it shows up for CHO? I'm currently on N950FXXU1AQI8 for Build Number and N950FXXU1AQHB for Baseband. Thanks....sorry for the newb question.
I'm still shocked at how a large company like Samsung let's their flagship phones fall so far behind in updates/security. I came from Oneplus, who used to have a bad rep in the software updates area but is nowhere near as bad.
Nothing in PAK yet. N950FD

Samsung SUX in updates..for their flagship device...strange.

Got the update on my 950F (CCT: AUT) today
I'm use the Indian version SM-N950FD not receive November security patch yet. what problem with my phone???

Still on November security patch.. No latest update yet.
Are you guys with ATT?
With no info about the update... I am not sure if I want to update it lol

Since it is unlocked, U1, the update came from Samsung. not att. It was a minor security patch that brought security up to the December patch.

Thanks for telling them where the updates come from for the unlocked devices.
Carrier branded phones will get updated from that said carrier ok.
Sent from my Galaxy Note8 using XDA Labs

is this normal?
Thanks
Hello
I purchased a Note 8 from America and now I'm out of America. My last update was in March
Can I get updates outside America
My mobile model number sm-n950u
I spoke with the support service from Samsung. They told me I have to be inside America to get security updates
Is there a solution to this problem ?
Try using a VPN APP.
Is strange story. I have a N950U1 US unlocked Note 8 and I moved back to Europe. I receive the security or other updates without any issue...

Hello, I have note 8 SM-N950U1, on the update from September I did not get the super slow motion and AR emoji.
Did somebody else update and did not receive the update?
I'm just curious if there are any other N960W users that can confirm that they're also still on the May update on Telus. I have yet to receive the June or July update at all.
Anyone else?
jd14771 said:
i don't have your phone, however, samfirmware shows there at least being the June update available., with the security patch showing as:
Fri, 24 May 2019 08:35:48 +0000
https://www.sammobile.com/samsung/galaxy-note9/firmware/SM-N960W/TLS/download/N960WVLU1CSE3/275532/
If you search "baseband version" in settings, does "N960WVLU1CSE3" match with your phones version? if so you are on the latest at the moment as far as i can see.

Thank you for the reply, that baseband version matches, so I guess I am on the latest build available after all.
jd14771 said:
yeah, i had similar questions, and it seems that the security version is usualy a month or two behind the builds release date. hence the june update with may security patch.

I am on SM-N960F, international Eyxnos based version in UK which is different to your model, that said the latest build over here has the latest security update.

Hi. I am with Rogers and have the same model as you. Rogers will have an update at the end of July and I am pretty sure you will too. It will be the July update but I do not know if it will include the camera night mode which is what I really want.
BTW, I am also just on the May 1 update
jd14771 said:
since you have the snapdragon variant, then the chances of getting night mode is .1%. only exynos has gotten camera night mode so far.

The update actually just happened now on Rogers - over 700 MB - and it includes night mode.
Korean Exynos variant here (KOO), I also still have the May update only. Tried all kinds of crazy stuff to get the camera night mode and latest security update to no avail. Samsung sucks.

same here, n960n only that im in (SKC) and on april , which by the way is quite bad, you would think samsung will update those models first seeing that its for their home market but nope.
i thought maybe samsung knows we are outside korea but when i check sammobile and other web pages it doesnt show new updates.
i really didnt want to root but this might make me to root and flash a rom with latest updates, but first i have to visit samsung service center to check my camera module.
Same here, verizon update last night. Includes night mode. Also includes typo...lol
just got the update with night mode and july security - n960n.
Still on the June update. Im on sprint
Sorry for going off topic here, I see you "W" guys updated the firmware - any battery life hit on Canadian N9? I am on Koodo and still on Oreo, scared to upgrade after reading many complaints about the battery life issues.
Thanks
Just got an update from at&t 882mb
I am assuming that Samsung does the monthly security updates...
It's monthly but it is usually not released till mid month each month. I have S9+ and updates I'm receiving are released closer to the end month.

Ah, okay. Sorry about the noob question. I just got the thing.
No but right now I'm getting my second update with the August 1 patch. This second one is larger than the first.
Yes, this is really strange as I already had the August Security Patch and got an update today and I thought it was the Sept patch but it seems to be a 2nd August Patch?View attachment 4817286

Anyone know of a way to turn off forced updates and just allow them when I want to install them?
On Sprint fw I had Sept1, after flashing U1 latest is Aug1 as of now.
I got the notification. I just wanted to be sure it works...

That is really weird, unless there were no such vulnerabilities.
