Two ways to do it.
Either you can flash an old version of Singapore firmware and then upgrade it to the latest via PCC or SUS
Or
Root you existing firmware and use the Singapore SI number and then do a repair in the PCC or SUS
Please note that both ways will make you loose your data. So backup before proceeding.
Alternatively, find an Singapore FTF and flash it over your existing version. That should keep your data and settings in tact.

I manage to change the Singapore SI in bulid.proc so i plan to update or repair the phone using PCC in the next version lolx ... I already backup my stuff..
Thanks for the advice.
So I'm still stuck with the 1.257 firmware version, and pc companion and update service will tell me that my phone has the latest firmware version, I read that if I rooted my phone OTA updates would not be recognized but I'm still not sure about that and yes I know that I can update via flashtool but I feel more secure with pc companion, so is there a way to make an OTA update? Or is it because of my carrier?

if you just root the phone, OTA will detect your device and its firmware. All OTA's were on my rooted phone and worked perfectly (thanks to rootkeeper). I don't know if you carrier blocked the OTA. I think you should check their website or helpdesk. Or you can wait for the 4.3 this or next month
Hi folks,
Sorry if I ask something that has been asked before, but I could not find the answer.
Is a different file version used in PC companion than in the flash tool (Emma)?
What I mean is, would using PC companion update with a country / region specific Xperia SP 4.3 file, and Emma with a general world wide version? Or would it be the same region specific file?
I had only problems with 12.1.A.0.266 FW after upgrading using PC companion (I tried twice), and have now downgraded to 4.1.2 and rooted it - after unlocking Bootloader.
I was thinking of trying 4.3 one more time, but using Emma Flash tool this time...
i need flashtools to change my firmware thanks for the help
Download the latest flashtools at their website. Z3+ is already supported in it.
Hi guys, i was wondering if Sony releases updates in different regions at different times ?
I read in another thread that the Oktober release was already available ?
If so can i use a VPN client to get my update quicker ?
Still on the august update here.
Yes, depending on your region (and if dual sim or single sim), updates are released at different times.
You can, however manually update by downloading the firmware using Xperifirm, and manually update using newflasher. The flashtool software hasn't been updated yet for the XZ3.

I have downloaded the correct firmware (unbranded UK) for my phone model.
Does newflasher work with the XZ3 ? I also tried Flashtool64 but this software is not updated for the XZ3 yet, it does download the firmware but when selecting flash no packages are shown.
So i am a bit stuck.

Yes, it does. That's how I flashed mine a few days ago.
Yep flashed the customized uk version. No issues here.

You can download another firmware for your device model using Xperifirm and flash it using NewFlasher. While flashing you need to exclude the files ending with .ta extension.
There is a tutorial available for Newflasher.

DO NOT exclude ta files. This is bad advice for newer Sony devices.
Only exclude userdata sin file if want to keep own files

Hello all sorry for the noob question its been a while since i have flashed, I have just had my network locked Vodafone XZ3 unlocked and am about to flash using newfasher can anyone confirm the following for me? I would really appreciate it before i proceed
1. Will my bootloader will remain locked and untouched
2. is the above quote still correct for the XZ3 i.e. NO DONT remove the ta files?
3. I want to keep my user files so I just need to remove the file "userdata_X-FLASH-CUST-B6B5.sin"
Thanks for helping!
