Dear all,
I just want to make sure that my vodafone LTE S3 GT-I9305 is ready to be given back to vodafone shop (sim card is not recognized at all, either some kind of lock or simply broken). also got message "not registred in network". vodafone employer came to us in store showing us the s3 saying "just want to show you the color". now i figured out that the box was already open when he came to us....
got phone yesterday but never tested phone function before rooting. used CF root with CWM and later also CF auto root to get back stock recovery. also resetted flash count. never flashed anything else, especially no other image. just did these two root options.
my questions:
- after final root with CF auto root I used Triangle Remove and Downloader showed count of zero, binary "Samsung Original" and system "Samsung Original". But after resetting phone (wipe in recovery console) it shows system in downloader "custom" (binary is still samsung...flash count still zero "no"). Is this normal?
- is recovery console the original one?
- am i good enough to go back to vodafone with this?

Some more information, because I saw some post on other poeple having same problem with "Not registered in network"
Maybe it is some issue, because phone might have been unlocked before I bought it or imported from somewhere. You never know what those guys in vodafone shops really sell to customers....Or it might be locked although it should not be locked. As I said before...Only rooted phone, but never flashed any other image or radio version. Basically only thing that was changed was to put on CWM after first root....and using CF Auto root to get back stock recovery...
MORE OVER==== IN SETTINGS IN STATUES it says=
network=not know
service state=out of service
roaming=not roaming
ERI version =not available
mobile network state =disconnected
serial no=it is shown (but i will not post it here)
imei=Not known
device status= Customized (in German "GeƤndert")
Might have lost IMEI....also tried *#06#....show "null/null"...
why does it say System Status : Cusrom And werent you the person who sister tried to root it and you didnt know what root she used because now ther is not any imei showing?
I bought a brand new sprint moto x xt1056 from a small sprint kiosk that was going out of business. I did not activate it on sprint. I planed to sim unlock it and give it to an associate who never had a smartphone to use it for inexpensive gsm plus data on any cellular carrier it would be compatible with.
For some time, I had the phone sitting, kept it fully charged, and from time to time installed apps or whatever to verify it was working perfectly.
Before I could get around to sim unlock the phone, it received an operating system update that seems to have partly clobbered it...!
Here's what it does now.
* When you start up the phone, it gets to the point where it says, "Starting services (spinning circle icon)" and then a popup box appears that says, "Unfortunately, OMADMClient_Sprint_DataService has stopped. OK (button)"
You tap the OK button, and it repeats that popup box again, and again, infinitely!
"Unfortunately, OMADMClient_Sprint_DataService has stopped. OK (button)"!
Other clues:
* The cellular signal strength icon shows empty (zero bars) which is impossible ... around here, it should be 3-4 bars out of 5.
* The icon for bad SIM is up top on the status bar. When you swipe down there's one notification, SIM error. When you tap it for more info, it shows the standard SIM card error screen... "Your phone needs a sim card to work properly. You may not have inserted your sim card yet, it may be inserted incorrectly, or it may be faulty. ...."
But the sim card is in there, and has been in there and giving no problem since day 1 when I bought the phone.
* I can get to the Home screen if I quickly hit OK to the "service has stopped" popup.
* Once at the home screen, I can get into Settings.
* I notice WiFi is off and cannot turn on! When I hit the icon to turn it on, it waits infinitely on the screen, saying "Turning WiFi on"..!!?
* Inside the Settings About Phone page:
Baseband version: Unknown (!)

I still have some serious troubles with this moto x sprint xt1056..
I got the MEID and IMEI numbers to come back, as well as mobile signal stregth and wifi, but it's still crashing about 100 times with the same popup message, "Unfortunately, OMADMClient_Sprint_DataService has stopped. OK (button)".
Also, unable to retrieve the SPC code from the phone using the SPCutility.apk.
Here's what I tried:
1. I unlocked the boot loader with the unlock code from the official motorola site.
2. I installed TWRP
3. I followed the guide by @samwathegreat to try to SIM Unlock the sprint moto x xt1056.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/general/guide-success-sim-unlock-sprint-xt1056-t2825155
Unfortunately when I run the apk it says some error about how it cannot connect to the internet, so it cannot read the spc code, so, no unlock of sim by that route!
4. Flashed the nv-items text files, and they didn't quite work... phone is still throwing the infinite popup about the "OMADMClient_Sprint_DataService" ... it should not be crashing and trying infinitely to get to sprint, while there is no valid sim card installed, just an invalid sim....
5. When i try to flash downgrade to 4.4.2 I get errors.
I followed this guide from @ezeuba :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-x/moto-x-qa/rooted-sprint-moto-x-sbf-t2834891
I hear it's necessary to go down to 4.4.2 or lower, because they say that 4.4.4 made the nv-items read-only, which makes it impossible write the nv-item to sim unlock the phone.
Errors while trying to flash gpt.bin:
"downgraded security version"
"update gpt_main version failed"
"preflash validation failed for GPT"
Some of the files flash on to the phone without error, but when you start it normally, you still get the endless infinite crashing popup... even though, you can go into select the type of mobile network you want, CDMA/4G or GSM/UMTS... but that infinite popup makes it unusable, and WiFi is grayed out and impossible to turn on, so it's useless in this state...
Big question... How do you get this xt1056 phone working normally, no endless crash popups, and gsm sim unlocked, according to the guides it should be very possible. Probably missing something simple...
Any suggestions? Let me know if you need any more information.

it looks like your problem is different from normal sprint xt1056. i did one sprint long ago and it didn't show any of shared symptoms.
anyway, there are two options what i think can be done to get rid of.
1. root your phone with twrp and install some system app remover or es file explorer.
then using that root explorer/app remover, remove OMADMClient_Sprint_DataService. i dont know it is safe to remove this app but many times it is. because i have removed bloatware from ATT or verizon phones a lot of times with out any issue.
2. get some twrp flashable rom of XT1053 model and flash it via recovery. it will get rid of cdma stuff and give you pure gsm interface.

Thanks @forbourne
I'd gotten stuck, unable to extract the SPC code in Sprint's Android 5.1.1, using the steps provided, so I set aside this Sprint Moto X XT1056 for a time. Now I've come back to it!
I read on these forums, the reason for the SPC code being not possible to extract, is because, the phone performed an over-the-air firmware update to Android 5.1.1 and in Sprint's Android 5.1.1 it now blocks access to the SPC code by somehow locking that data block.
Furthermore, I've been unable to downgrade Sprint's Android 5.1.1 to Sprint Android 5.1. Not entirely sure about that? The flash fails and you're stuck on Android 5.1.1, it seems?!
Therefore, after you've upgraded to 5.1.1, you're stuck on 5.1.1, and you can no longer get back to Android 5.1 to extract the SPC code with the trick?
I hope this is not true.
I want to get the SPC code and then run any GSM sim on this Moto X 2013, it's a great phone.
1. Have you ever flashed this Moto X 2013 XT1056 to (formerly Cyanogen Mod ) Lineage 14.1 for its Android 7.1 Nougat OS ??
2. Does Lineage OS 14.1 allow access to the block containing SPC code??
3. On Lineage OS, is the SPC required to unlock the SIM and use any GSM sim??
A few days after updating my phone to Nougat, my phone restarted itself, and after the restart, a security error showed up saying "This phone has been flashed with unauthorized software and is locked", and after unlocking the phone a screen came up saying that my device has been network locked and it can be unlocked using the device unlock app, and the invalid sim card error.
I was never rooted or anything like that, my phone had received OTA updates. I did not master reset, but I rebooted many times, and the error message appeared on every boot, but disappeared after a while allowing me to use my phone. And now, although the error doesn't seem to appear anymore, i still can't use my network, and when I checked the IMEI, it had changed to 350000000000006, and the one on the back is different.
Is there any possible way to fix this without sending this phone back to Samsung/T-Mobile for exchange, because I had bought this phone from USA but brought it to Pakistan, and Samsung Pakistan says that they would charge me for the repairs ( I still haven't visited them, they told this to me through mail).
HELP PLEASE?
Bump?
Have you tried using Samsung Smart Switch?

I didn't try Samsung Smart Switch, but I had reflashed it using Odin, and tried a factory reset and it didn't fix it, i got it fixed through Z3X box.
This happened to me also.

I had taken in to a repair shop who had a Z3X box. That's the only way to get it fixed. He downgraded my phone to Marshmallow and re-flashed the cert. I live in Pakistan and that costed my Rs.1000 (i.e. $10). Make sure you take your phone's box with you as a proof of purchase because changing IMEIs is illegal in many places.
P.S. I can't upgrade to Nougat now, if I will, the phone won't register to the network.

Thanks mate. I also live in Pakistan - Lahore. I took my phone to Hafeez center and they charged me 1500. Now the phone is on Marshmallow. I'm receiving notification of update. I've tried 3 times but if failed to install. When I tap on update it downloads the OS which is about 1.3GB. then restarts to install but it fails when reaches 30%.
Can you please tell me why we can't update our phones. I'm using another s6 which is also of T-mobile and it's running fine on nougat.

Not sure about that but we can't update because probably our CERT files have been patched in EFS is messed, I got it done back in July 2017, and at that time, the guy who repaired it said that they didn't have Z3X's software update for Nougat, so they had to downgrade my phone to Marshmallow, and the patch they used won't work on Nougat. Don't know about yours though, maybe he used an updated patch or a different tool, you can ask that guy whether if its safe for you to update to Nougat or not, if he allows it, then try flashing Nougat through Odin, if it doesn't work you'll have to get it patched by him again. Don't update if he doesn't allow, otherwise he won't patch it again without extra charges, and if he allows that and something goes wrong you can blame him for that
Hello I've bought a secondhand
Samsung Galaxy S6 (refurbished)
It is a Verizon or T-mobile phone (Not sure, don't know US carriers. Model says SM-G920T, must be T-mobile, I suppose... )
Seller claimed it is unlocked for other carriers, and it is, it works fine with Canadian carriers SIM cards.
But Samsung pay and Samsung Health wouldn't open, saying the phone is ROOTED.
I've downloaded the RootChecker app, and tested the phone, result:
it isn't rooted.
Background info:
Settings -> About Device -> Status -> Device status
Custom
Settings -> About device -> Model Number
SM-G920T
Settings -> About device -> Build number
NRD90M.G920TUVS6FRC1
My Android version is 7.0
Developer options
OEM unlock - yes
I've downloaded and installed Samsung drivers
developer[.]samsung[.]com/galaxy/others/android-usb-driver-for-windows[/url]
Then, found this
desktop[.]firmware[.]mobi/device:411/firmware:15878
Friendly name Galaxy S6
Model SM-G920T
Name zerofltetmo
Device zerofltetmo
Board universal7420
Android
- Release 7.0
Display ID NRD90M.G920TUVS6FRC1
It is precisely what my phone is.
Odin connected the phone and flashed the firmware
Odin says PASS
Device reboots
(NO blue "Pirate" Android screen)
Just Ordinary SAMSUNG screen with
RED writing
Recovery is not Seandroid Enforcing
And device reBoots to normal
I've tested with RootChecker, no root.
Am I missing something? It seemed super easy in the guides and on Youtube.
And it was simple, aside from the fact phone is not rooted in the end...
i'm facing the same issue.what's the solution?
I'm hopeful somebody more experienced with this stuff than I can help me here:
My Galaxy S6 (sm-g920a) was working fine on Android v5.1.1 (lollipop) until a few days back when it suddenly popped up a message saying "not registered on network". After some searching online, I looked at the IMEI # and it showed 350000000000006, which was definitely not the original number. I thought perhaps updating the operating system to v7.0 (nougat) would solve the problem, so I did that but it didn't help. I put in a friend's SIM in case my SIM card was the problem but that didn't help either. On top of that, I'm not sure how but at this point, a Samsung Knox Mobile Enrollment app popped up and said my phone was part of an enterprise and it would not let me move past that unless I enabled wi-fi to download additional software called MDM. I shut off the phone before it could install the MDM app, but now I'm at a point where I think I'm worse off than when I started. ...Is there a way to turn off this Mobile Enrollment app, correct the IMEI and get this phone working again? I can't access most functions of the phone after it's fully booted, except some Settings, because that Knox Mobile Enrollment app seems to disable/lock down all the rest.
Add'l Info:
I had successfully installed flash a Eng Root Boot file to obtain shell root according to instructions in ( https://forum.xda-developers.com/at...ot-att-samsung-g920a-s6-g925a-s7edge-t3564637 ) but my attempts to install SuperSU manager failed with a message indicating that "smu_protection" prevented making /system writable.
Then I followed other instructions (https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/how-to/guide-how-to-fix-check-drk-imei-issues-t3379516) despite them being for the Galaxy S7, and installed combination firmware COMBINATION_ATT_FA50_G920AUCU7ARA1.rar, booted up, typed " *#06# " powered down, replaced with stock ROM G920AUCU6EQCF. No luck, and from my reading, that may mean the EFS is also corrupted.
Any help is much appreciated.
