Hi,
anyone have problems with google maps with picture in picture enabled? Google maps froze when I press the home button. There was one time it froze in picture in picture mode, and I couldn't move it anywhere; another time it froze like it was in picture in picture mode but on the whole screen, as if trying to reduce the screen size but never did.
I just updated to oreo on note 8. build number R16NW.N950USQU4CRF3
i got this phone from verizon but divorced it, now with cricket. got OTA update on 7/8/18.
Thanks in advance.
My app store would not show the installed apps after the N950USQU4CRF3 update
N950USQU4CRF3 update on note 8 broke the play store. I dont see my installed apps and neither can i update them. Tried clearing partition cache snd still wont work.

Has anyone noticed this bug with JPY?:
When you first boot and open Gallery it is super fast with all the thumbnails preloaded. After a couple of hours when you open it again it says "Loading images" and re caches the thumbnails again taking some time. This is especially evident in folders with a lot of images. It would be ok for an hour and then bam! Loading images slowly when i open it again.
Clicking on a folder opens it with the first four pics showing and then scrolling you have to wait a few seconds for the thumbnails to appear whereas when it initially booted all the thumbnails were already there. Its like it deletes the thumbnails after a while and has to generate them again which takes some time especially if you have a lot of folders and pics.
Is this normal, I don't remember this in my old firmware? Its the only thing that is bugging me. Maybe they force close Gallery after a certain time avoid the sensor draining bug that was there with the previous firmware?
Can you please check a see if yours is the same so i dont have to do a factory reset
you can download SGS tools from the markup and upgrade your gallary app.. that's what i did and i don't have any problems with the gallery anymore..
goodluck
The gallery app in SGS tool is not compatible with JPY because of the new feature of selecting wall paper for lock screen. I gave it a try but it would force close everytime i wanted to select a wallpaper.

Absolutely the same and even more.... I have my picasa account connected to the gallery too, after an hour mainly picassa the gallery crashes - black screen, but no force close. Actually this one, the battery (not 100% after disconnecting) and the contacts app not closing, made me go back to JPP.

The contacts bug can be solved by uninstalling the task manager's update.

hi all
i've formatted my completely stock HTC ONE after upgrading to 4.3 and i found 2 issues:
1. when i transferred my pictures and videos from laptop to the phone all photos and videos were showing the same date of transfer and when i view them in gallery the videos appear all one after another , not like how i took them...few photos, one video and one zoe...etc. Its like showing all photos and when scrolling down all videos...
is there a way to fix this? i have a lot of photos from my travel and i would like to keep them in the correct order.
2. my apps where automatically re installed cz i backed everything up on my google account ( an option in the phone ) so i found some of the apps have those old three dots in the lower side of the screen for the settings, the ones cancelled by the 4.2.2 upgrade. anybody knows how i got those back??? shall uninstall and re install again?
any help is appreciated
Thank you
Jamel

Does anyone has the Note 4 camera modes backed up? Because when I reseted my phone and tried to install them from my same Samsung account I couldn't find any of them on the store or from purchased list, but they exist on the store web version but when i sign in it's gone. it looks like it got deleted or restricted for some reason.
Corrupted wipe app cache in Application Manager then relog back in. Or long press on the Samsung app store and drag to the App info above.
Did you try downloading them directly from the camera app? Hit the Mode button, go to the bottom and press 'download'
sent from somewhere
Yes I tried doing that I even uninstalled all of samsung store other apps like billing etc, but nothing ia showing up I've also tried restarting, sign out the sign in, wipe cache ,wipe data or even create a new account and the same thing happened on my Galaxy S5 but here I found the apks of all modes but couldn't find the note 4 ones.
And yes I also tried accessing it from the native camera app but the list looks empty or shows other apps or effects.
Is there any issue with it. I'm using stock note 8 and when I try download or update an app it takes long time. Any ideas. Thanks for your help

Your issues with Play store, reminds me of 2 x similar incidents, i had with my old Note devices.
Think it was Note 3 and my Note 4. Not sure.
Unfortunately It was a few years back!
eg.
When i tried to download, an apps update etc and
app size was eg 2mb or 5 mb.. etc I struggled to download.Very frustrating!
Eventually after a week or 2, maybe 3.
i was able to pinpoint
the the "suspect"
(Unfortunately i cannot remember clearly ,
but it was either, that i had sideloaded
wrong updated version of Play services apk
(Cleaning Play services cache did not help.)
or it was an Xposed /Xposed model.
(So phone was also rooted)
Anyway ,
i then decided to factory reset and Playstore
was working fine again.
Bottom line is
you can either look for the "suspect"?
causing this.
( I know there was a few threads about similar issues with Playstore, on XDA... way back then ! )
or save yourself from the frustration it's causing?
and try a "clean" Factory reset.!
Good luck
Have you tried cleaing the cache data in the internal storage? That usually helps with this sorta issue.
Tried that not working in either what you said

Is it on wifi or data?
Reset router modem.
Do other apps lag like YouTube or Netflix.
Download speed bad in your area.
Uninstall GP updates and try to reinstall them or apk from web.
Is updating apps through wifi only ?
Clear out all pending updates and restart device.
Do you have another device or friends to see if it's the same problem on theirs too for your region.
Try a different proxy.
Just throwing some ideas around!!
Go into your Google settings and see if you have it to update using wifi only I personally always turn auto updates off.. I had this problem with my Note 8 when I 1st got it. How I fixed it was I went into settings and went to apps and cleared the cache and data on Google play services and playstore and foreclosed them and then went to accounts and removed my Google account and restarted my phone.. when my phone rebooted I went to the playstore and had to login fresh again and that fixed the problem.
I fixed it by factory resetting phone. Thankfully I backed it all up
Help needed! I have a Note 9 on At&t. I have attached the path where one of the photos keeps appearing. I do not have samsung cloud active so when I delete photos often times some of them appear a day later. I have went directly to the path and deleted them for them only to appear hours later. I did a search and located nothing so fear I may be the only one experiencing this.
Maybe you saved it in a cloud so it reappears... Try to synchronize or delete directly in the cloud if you done that.
These are just the cache not the original picture. You need to delete/clear the pictures cache.
The best program I found to do this is "Unseen Gallery" which is available on the store.
Hope this helps.

On my s9 note if you go to the menu option in the gallery settings you should see the option to disable save photos for 15 days before permanently deleted in trash.
