I'm not sure of how many people are aware of this feature, it's what allows bluetooth headphones to control the volume of your phone, basically syncs the volume with your bluetooth headphone/headset, I have owned a few phones over the last year (Sony Z3, Sony XA1 ultra, Nokia 7 Plus, Moto G6 Plus), and all of them allow you to do this apart from the Mate 10 pro, I have checked in the developers option to see if 'Absolute Volume' was disabled and unfortunately it wasn't so it should be working, anyone noticed this or think it might be fixed in the future?
AFAIK and as far as I can remember, this never worked in EMUI, also not on the P9+.
I actually prefer this. it is no bug. i hated that on my gfs iphone.

Lol many manufacturers choose this. It's just something you either do or don't. It's not a bug bro. Microsoft and windows don't sync the volume of speakers either. Additionally on Samsung phones you can toggle a setting for this.

It's under the network section
https://imgur.com/a/zuhfu1N
It's a design choice by the OEM, is also found in other mobiles.
Not everything that you find inside the developer options will work, the OEM might choose to disable, not include or change some stuff.
Like the AAC codec, you can choose it in the developer options, but it doesn't work because the libraries aren't present.
You can pass your feedback to Huawei or see if there is a (root) way around it
Tbh I don't see an option indicating volume sync

This seems to be a known bug. It will most probably happen again, I updated the Google Play Services to the latest beta and now it's working for two straight days in a row, before, it would stop and go white every one to two days.
anyone got it working?
I've found the setting.
You'll need a launcher such as Nova or use Tasker to send the intent. If using Nova Launcher simply add an Activities widget and select MirrorShare from the activities list. This will create a shortcut on your desktop.
If you want to launch with Tasker send an intent with the following:
ACTION: android.intent.action.VIEW
PACKAGE: com.huawei.android.mirrorshare
CLASS: com.huawei.android.airsharing.player.DeviceListActivity
If anyone would rather just have an apk to do this hit thanks and leave a comment, I'll compile my task into an app and post it here. Cheers!
[EDIT]
MirrorShare is in the regular settings menu. Doesn't want to connect for me though it could be my TV.
I was asking about smartlock. Mirrorshare is working in my case with no problems

Also mine seems to be limited to Bluetooth conditions only, you may need Bluetooth turned on and paired with something to activate it. If anyone has the old area based Smart Unlock from nougat working I'd love to know. I've built my own version of locale based Smart Unlock in Tasker and it works great. I can dig out my tutorial if you're interested in going down that rabbit hole. I have downloadable links to the tasks/profiles so all the hard work is done. But it does require Tasker and either a little knowledge or willingness to learn.
That would be perfect
Google Smart Lock was enabled in one of the spring/summer updates. (B128 for C432)

Here's the link. I've got a few projects in that thread and the smart unlock is the one linked. Simple download the project file and import it into Tasker. It works better than regular Smart Unlock imo just make sure to
replace the placeholder with your SSID. If you have any questions please post to that thread and I'll answer promptly!

Hm, looks like you're correct. Huawei is odd...
experienced the same issue, after a few days from when I started using the mobile phone, and the only way to get rid of it was to enter in trusted agents, disable Smart Lock, reboot the device, enter in Trusted agents and turn Smart Lock On again. The Smart Lock issue is reported on official google Forum since more than a year on different models (Search for "SOLVED: Smart Lock options missing " on Google Help Forum). As only TEMPORARY solution is reported the trick on Trusted Agents I reported. As I mention it is indicated as temporary solution, since many users experienced this problem again after some time. It is unknown whether someone of the Android Dev Team is working on a fix, or ever heard about it.
Note 9 announced, so came Bixby along with it. This time it's version 2.0, out of the box. Samsung says it's now better at predicting user needs, processing natural languages and is quicker. You like it or you are going to remap it with a remapper or disable it forever? Or you want it to be dead already? Share your thoughts.
I'm too heavily invested in the Google assistant ecosystem. I liked how DJ Koh talked about how fragmented systems are because companies want to control, but results in a poor user experience, but then of course there's no way to disable bixby easily....not very open if you ask me.
I'll still test it out of interest.

Well, you can forget Bixby home, let only the "Bixby voice" to stay and to follow your commands, can disable both and 4get forever or can Remap with remapper.

Bixby seems to faster and context aware now (like Google Assistant), based on what I saw in Flossy Carter's unboxing and hands-on video (@8:02).

Ill never use it, ill just disable it again like with my s8 plus

I think I'll give it another shot. Only reason I had stopped using was because I'm invested in Google Assistant. At least that's what I thought until just now when I realized, the only thing I use Google Assistant for is a 30 minute timer for my lunch clock punches.
Plus there's just something weird about saying "Hi Bixby," out loud.

good to know that. Thanks!
I currently use it only for system control. My daily driver is Google.
I use Bixby all the time. Google Assistant is my reminder only use. Now that it remembers you are in a conversation and don't have to keep repeating the initial context I'll be using it even more.
I'm not seeing options to disable Bixby hardware button entirely in Note 9, unlike S9/S9+.
The settings and UI are different in Note 9 in comparison to S9/S9 plus, but no option of "do nothing" when you press the Bixby key in Bixby settings or Bixby voice settings.
**The unit I'm having is NOT a retail unit, it's a demo/review unit, with latest OTA flashed 2 days back with few enhancements and August security patch. The option to turn the Bixby hardware button into a totally "dead" button might show up in retail units.

ButtonMapper doesn't work as well. But I would assume those apps might work in future once devs start working on it.
Update:
Checked a retail unit and Bixby settings are not different from the demo/review unit I had been using.
So, using bixby/phone settings one cannot turn the button completely off, for now. This is ugly and a step backwards from S9/S9+ IMO.

Maybe wipe app cache/phone and if it still doesn't work then report it as a bug to Oppo as feedback?

Is not there mate, on google home app they appear whit no problem, i have maybe 40 IoT devices, and no problem. But on android 12 device control, if u swipe down your control center u will se device control option, there u cand add your IoT devices to easy acess on power menu.
I contact OPPO Portugal and they say to me will analyze with the team of engineers.
I contact Google Home suport and they say to contact OPPO contrariwise.
Idk, its really stupid because Xiaomi and LG thing appear normal, but google home no.

u can see there people whit same bug.
I have the same problem.
I also have the same problem, have to say that in Android 12 they did not appear either.
To add more information. I have to say that I was waiting for it to update to ColorOs 13 to see if it would be solved but yesterday I updated and the same error continues. However, I have a Oneplus 6 where it works perfectly and that both devices are from the same company
Same issue here. Done a full factory reset and still not showing up
I came from a oneplus in which it went perfectly. I buy the new Oppo X5, I install Google Home and it doesn't work
Having a OnePlus that just "upgraded" to Oxygen 11/Android 13, which is more or less ColorOS. Worked before upgrade, but after I have exactly the same issue a mentioned here. Sucks.
Hello everybody! Suddenly i have no more sound feedback (like writing on real paper) in screen off memo and in notes. Yesterday i have this sound feedback when writing on locked screen. Now, without changing any settings, i have not. I only have sound feedback in writing on screenshots. In advanced settings- s pen i have sound enabled for removing--attaching s pen and for screen write. What gives?
Any updates or new/uninstalled apps?
Try clearing the system cache. Try a hard reboot.
Thank you for your resonse. But how to clear the cache?
You're welcome.
It's on the boot menu on Samsung's.
It sometimes cures bizarre behaviors. I clear it about once a month or after major installs/uninstalls.
I just clear the cache partition and still no sound from pen except when writing on screenshot.

You're the one best qualified to find it. Cause and effect. The last things that were changed before it stopped working. This is one reason you don't allow auto updates, one less variable.
Sampling apps can cause big problems even after the app is uninstalled. I've seen it with a Google reading app. Rare but it happens. Best practice to install apks/version you previously vetted only.
Try in safe mode...
This has just happened to me too. Trying to figure out a fix.
One clue
I have a Galaxy Tab S8 plus. I'm suffering this problem as well. It happens to me several days ago, after updating both the OS and the stores. I'm also actively looking for a fix.
Scribble/writing sound only works in Handwriting (when you write in a box and the software converts it to text) or when S Pen to text is in use (only when in given text fields). None of the drawing or note-taking applications produces the sound, regardless of the settings. Obviously I checked the tables is not in do not disturb mode, silence or vibration only. Additionally, I double-checked the S Pen sound is on.

What I learned over the last decade about Samsung firmware* upgrades/updates, they tend to break things.
Rule #1- if an OS is fast, stable and fulfilling its mission let it be! Anything from Pie and above is reasonably secure in actual use without updates or upgrades if you don't do stupid things.
If worse comes to worst as long as the boot loader wasn't upgraded too (Samsung does that double whammy sometimes) you can roll it back.
Eventually... Samsung will probably patch it.
* includes Buds+ and other Samsung bt devices as well, last firmware upgrade degraded the sound quality of one pair I have If you have a pair don't upgrade the firmware. Last version shipped from the factory runs A-OK.
@blackhawk Take a look at this https://samsung-notes.en.uptodown.com/android/versions. Can you please explain how there are higher versions like 4.7 when the latest is 4.4.00.64 in Galaxy Store? Is it that they made the version and it somehow got there, but they don't publish it until further bug testing? EDIT: Or maybe a higher number in the version does not correspond to a higher version (judging by the dates)? I'm not into these things...

Don't know. Not reassuring though
Before you side load anything scan with online Virustotal first. If there's any doubts delete that apk. It's not worth the risk.
so I have setup some user profiles for my family, only to findout that when the tablet is initaiily turned on, my password as the main user is needed, to get into the tablet and the others can then log into the or repsctive user profiles. surely there should be a way to have each user log in, using their own password and user profiles but this does not appear to be the case any suggestions?

No idea, Samsung is notorious when it comes to maintaining features barely used.
In android 13 it seems a tiny user profile avatar icon appeared on lock screen. Have you tried pressing that and change to new profile? Maybe it let's you change there so you don't have to unlock yours first.

Hi yes after the tablet is unlocked for the first time, you can then log into the user profile. However, when the tablet is initialy turned on, it requires the main user log in code, before others can access their own user profiles.

Nah, this feels like negligence.
When One UI 5 was being tested for Phones, the first two beta's had user profiles as well. They removed it saying they had issues with it, and not giving us any detailed info.
The Tabs had it before One UI 5 obviously. It just feels like a feature with low priority on their end, and there are loads of hints. I.e., you can either have two users and one having a secure folder, or three users with out any having secure folder. Don't get me started if you actually need a user with work profile and secure folder too.
It's a poorly implemented feature. All other OS that have multi user support have the ability to bloody allow the user to log in without their sugauser.
